HON. JOHNSON AKOHOMEH AVOSEH PARTICIPATES IN NIGERIA FOR WOMEN PROGRAM SCALE-UP PROJECT (NFWP-SU) STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, participated in the stakeholder engagement programme organized by the Ogun State Project Coordinating Unit of the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up Project (NFWP-SU), a transformative initiative jointly supported by the Ogun State Government, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the World Bank.

The engagement, which brought together beneficiaries, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, women groups, and development partners, focused on strengthening platforms for women's economic empowerment and improving livelihood opportunities across communities in Ogun State.

The NFWP-SU is a five-year intervention programme designed to institutionalize Women Affinity Groups and other community-based structures that promote financial inclusion, economic participation, and sustainable development for women, particularly those who are underserved by conventional financial systems.

Participants were sensitized on the objectives, implementation strategies, and expected impact of the programme. Discussions highlighted the importance of empowering women as critical contributors to economic growth, poverty reduction, and sustainable community development.

Stakeholders at the event expressed appreciation and excitement regarding the opportunities created through the programme, while emphasizing the need for collaboration among government institutions, traditional authorities, community leaders, and beneficiaries to ensure its successful implementation.

The chairman commended the unwavering commitment of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor of Ogun State, for continually championing policies and programmes that promote economic inclusion, social development, and the empowerment of women across the state.

He also applauded the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to prioritize initiatives aimed at poverty reduction, economic empowerment, and improving the welfare of Nigerians through strategic interventions and partnerships.

The participation of Ipokia Local Government in the engagement reflects the administration's commitment to supporting programmes and policies that promote inclusive economic growth, women empowerment, and sustainable grassroots development.

The engagement further reaffirmed the commitment of the Ogun State Government, the Federal Government, and the World Bank to improving the socio-economic wellbeing of women through strategic interventions that strengthen local communities, enhance livelihoods, and create lasting opportunities for future generations.

THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF IPOKIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT, HON. JOHNSON AKOHOMEH AVOSEH, INSPECTS THE SECOND PHASE OF ONGOING PROJECTS ACROSS ZONE B

The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, inspected the second phase of ongoing projects across Zone B, covering Tube Ward, Ijofin/Idosa Ward, Agada Ward, and Agosasa Ward. The inspection exercise forms part of the administration’s commitment to ensuring quality project delivery and the timely completion of developmental projects across the Local Government.

During the inspection in Agosasa Ward, the construction of two classroom blocks at Community Primary School, Idojori, was assessed. The project is aimed at improving access to quality education and providing a conducive learning environment for pupils within the community. The construction work has now reached the painting stage, while upon completion, the classrooms will be equipped with lockers to encourage neatness, convenience, and a more effective learning atmosphere for the pupils.

Also inspected was the ongoing construction of two classroom blocks at Community Primary School, Igate, Ijofin/Idosa Ward. The project, upon completion, is expected to further strengthen educational infrastructure and support effective teaching and learning. The construction is currently at the painting stage, while the new classroom blocks will equally be furnished with lockers to enhance pupils comfort and support academic activities within the school.

At Methodist Primary School, Ode-Pata, Tube Ward, the construction of two classroom blocks was equally inspected. The administration received reports that the previous classroom structures within the school premises had become severely dilapidated and dangerous for pupils and teachers. Consequently, the affected classrooms were demolished and replaced with the ongoing construction of two new classroom blocks to provide a safer and more conducive learning environment. The project has equally advanced to the painting stage, while lockers will also be provided in the classrooms upon completion to promote proper organization and create a suitable environment for teaching and learning.

Additionally, several graded roads were inspected across Zone B. In Agosasa Ward, Okoro Road linking Monijesu Community to Ibatefin, Alhaji Ogogo Road, Aseko, and Orile-Idogun linking Idotun/Idaabata roads were confirmed graded and accessible for residents.

In Ijofin/Idosa Ward, the following graded roads were inspected: Vatipa, Igate, Ita-masa to Ita-kupo Road and Ikefi to Health Centre, Bode-Ase Road.

In Tube Ward, the following graded roads were inspected: Tube - Isolo, and Jattu - Obalaja

In Agada Ward, the Agada–Whekan local road was also inspected as part of the ongoing projects across Zone B. The inspection covered the progress of the grading works aimed at improving accessibility within the community, easing movement for residents, and strengthening local transportation within the ward.

It is important to note that while work is ongoing across Zone B, there is no ward within Ipokia Local Government without at least two or more ongoing projects. The present administration remains committed to continuous monitoring, ensuring that all projects are completed and commissioned. There will be no abandoned projects.

Profound appreciation is extended to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to infrastructural development across the State. His administration’s developmental blueprint, anchored on the ISEYA initiative, continues to provide an enabling environment for sustainable growth in local government areas, including Ipokia Local Government. Through this shared vision of building the future together, communities are witnessing impactful projects that improve living standards and strengthen socio-economic development.
