Hmmm
Cattle prices in Lagos have climbed to as high as $1,613 per cow, surpassing the value of some vehicles and straining butchers and consumers.
The Lagos State Butchers Association links the surge to insecurity, higher fuel costs, and delayed ranching projects.
Reduced supply from northern Nigeria and rising logistics expenses have intensified market pressure.
Stakeholders are calling for the faster rollout of local ranching schemes to stabilize prices and improve supply.

For generations, planting trees around the home was not simply landscapingโit was a way of life. In many communities, the yard was more than open space; it was a living source of food, medicine, shade, and family connection.
Fruit trees such as mango, orange, and guava were common features in household compounds. These trees produced fresh, nutritious fruits that fed families and often created extra income. In many homes, women sold surplus produce in local markets, turning backyard harvests into small but meaningful sources of livelihood.
But the value of trees extended far beyond food.
Large shade trees created natural gathering spaces where families sat in the evenings, shared stories, resolved disagreements, and strengthened relationships. Children played under their branches while elders enjoyed cool air and conversation. The simple presence of trees helped create moments of joy, laughter, and bonding.

Cloning isn't the stuff of science fictionโit offers owners a way to replicate beloved pets after they pass, albeit for a steep price. But scientists say genetics is only part of the story, with early experiences and environment being huge factors that shape a cloned animalโs behavior. As interest grows, so do the questions about what cloning can realistically deliver.

This time last week, we were all looking forward to the weekend - to rest, focus on house chores, party and what not: however, what we didn't see the catastrophic events of Saturday morning happening.
So far, oil prices have gone up to ~$80 from about $60 prior, and by extension, our own Dangote Refinery here has gone up from 774 NGN to 874 NGN on Monday. It is projected that prices could get up to 1000 NGN if the situation isn't curtailed before the 8-9 week timeline.
What does that mean for Nigerians? Well, we're already used to such, case study "...subsidy is gone." Though the change isn't as dramatic, we can expect and increase in the logistical prices, petroleum and byproducts in coming days - meaning drugs and day-old chicks. Egg prices are already up to 6000+NGN retail price, due to increased demand, due to the Ramadan and is expected to go up a bit.
Not here for fear mongering, but to give a piece of advice, be shrewd in your spending: save, invest more wisely, stock up foods with long shelf life and safeguard you and your family. Winter is coming.

โ๏ธThe Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), joins the global community in celebrating World Wildlife Day today March 3, 2026.
๐ฅฆ๐ฅ๐ฝ This year's theme, "๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ผ๐ง๐ค๐ข๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐จ: ๐พ๐ค๐ฃ๐จ๐๐ง๐ซ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ฉ๐, ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐๐๐ค๐ค๐๐จ" highlights the critical role of plant species in supporting human well-being, biodiversity, and sustainable development.
๐ฏMedicinal and aromatic plants are a vital part of our ecosystem, providing healthcare, income, and cultural heritage to millions of people worldwide. However, these plants face significant threats from habitat loss, overharvesting, and climate change.

Some positive News from Nigeria at least. We hear so much negativity every day, so such serve as a breath of fresh air. Congratulations and thank you for flying the flag high.
Meet Captain AO Akinuli of the Nigeria Air Force, not your usual officer. This brilliant Doctor surgeon just won double honours at a West African surgeonsโ conference! ๐๐
While most of us think of military officers on the battlefield, Captain Akinuli is saving lives in the operating theatre, showing that excellence can wear both uniform and scrubs.
This is the Nigeria we rarely celebrate. A military officer excelling in medicine, making the country proudโnot with weapons, but with wisdom and skill. ๐ณ๐ฌโจ
Well done, Captain Akinuli. The nation salutes you. ๐
