PLASIEC has adjusted the timetable for the 2026 Plateau State Local Government Elections following the enactment of the new Electoral Act 2026.
Political parties can now conduct their primaries from March 7 to April 7, 2026, while the elections remain scheduled for September 9, 2026 across the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
Key dates for nomination submissions, candidate screening, and campaign activities have also been updated.

The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) yesterday engaged the Plateau Debate Guild as part of its stakeholder consultations ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
