The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Group has carefully reviewed the press conference issued by the so-called National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and we categorically reject its claims as misleading, self-serving, and inconsistent with the prevailing legal position.

Let it be clearly stated: the most recent decision of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja does not support the continued claim to authority by the National Caretaker Working Committee as being paraded. The Court was clear in reinforcing that leadership within a political party must be anchored on constitutional order, due process, and internal democratic structures—not arbitrary caretaker arrangements.

The attempt to rely on selective and outdated interpretations of court rulings is not only deceptive but also a deliberate effort to mislead party members and the Nigerian public.

We state emphatically:

The claim that the NCWC remains the legitimate leadership of the PDP is highly questionable and not supported by the latest judicial position.

Proceeding with any National Convention under a legally disputed structure is dangerous and capable of deepening the crisis within the party.

The continued manipulation of legal processes to sustain an illegitimate structure must be rejected by all well-meaning stakeholders.

Furthermore, we welcome the timely and courageous decision of the legally re-organized Board of Trustees led by Senator Adolphus Wabara, which has taken steps toward genuine reconciliation in the interest of members of the party across the 36 states of Nigeria.

We believe strongly that if those currently parading themselves as leaders are truly committed to the survival and future of the PDP, they must immediately align with the re-organized Board of Trustees to pursue sincere reconciliation and re-strategize ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Let it be made unequivocally clear:

Any individual or group that continues to parade itself under this so-called caretaker arrangement, in defiance of the prevailing legal and constitutional realities, risks political isolation.

Such individuals should understand that their ambition for 2027 stands on shaky ground.

No credible candidacy can emerge from a foundation built on illegality and division.

Only through genuine reconciliation, as advised by the Board of Trustees, and the constitution of a new, legitimate leadership structure, can the PDP reposition itself for 2027.

To all party members and Nigerians, we say:

The PDP must choose between legality and chaos.
Between unity and selfish ambition.
Between rebuilding and total collapse.
The time to act is now.
