extend our heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, on the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai.

The loss of a mother is a profound grief—one that touches the very core of a family. Hajiya Umma was undoubtedly a woman of grace, faith, and immeasurable influence, and her legacy lives on in the pragmatic leader she raised. We pray that Almighty Allah grants her Al-Jannah Firdaus, forgives her shortcomings, and comforts all who mourn her.

In this moment of sorrow, we stand with you and the entire El-Rufai family. May Allah grant you the strength and patience to bear this irreplaceable loss.

JUST IN: North Central APC Crowns Tinubu Sole 2027 Candidate – “No Rival Allowed” in Major Power Consolidation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) North Central Zone has unanimously adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election, with governors, senators, former ministers and party stakeholders declaring total support for his re-election bid.

The resolution was reached at the North Central Zonal Congress held in Lafia, Nasarawa State. Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, who seconded the motion, praised Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying they enabled governors in the zone to operate without borrowing. SGF Senator George Akume moved the motion and highlighted the zone’s strategic importance to the party.

The congress also produced new zonal executives through consensus. APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda (represented) commended the zone’s loyalty and invited members to the national convention in Abuja this weekend, urging them to carry the same unity and strength forward.

The Media and Publicity Committee of the 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), chaired by Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and Co-Chaired by Honorable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, will host a World Press Conference this afternoon in Abuja, ahead of the Convention scheduled for tomorrow.

PROGRESSIVE GOVERNORS FORUM REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR TINUBU'S VISION

The Progressive Governors' Forum (PGF) has pledged continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a communiqué issued after their meeting in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state, the governors expressed commitment to Tinubu’s efforts toward economic growth, social inclusion, and national development from the state level upward.

Signed by PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the communiqué called on Nigerians to keep faith in the president's vision and support their governors in building a stable, just, and prosperous nation.

The governors reaffirmed their support for the APC, promising to promote internal democracy, policy alignment, and national unity. They also committed to stronger interstate cooperation and innovation.

The Forum welcomed Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State to the APC, calling his defection “historic and transformative."” His move brings the number of APC governors to 24.

The governors praised President Tinubu for recent economic and security achievements, highlighting progress in fiscal reforms and intergovernmental cooperation.

They also commended the APC leadership for promoting inclusivity and steering the party toward national consolidation.

Finally, the forum pledged continued support for federal efforts to improve accountability and governance across Nigeria.
