Anti-Buhari Graffiti: A Demonstration of Public Resentment To APC Misrule
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the appearance of anti-Buhari graffiti in some major cities in the country is an unmistaken demonstration of public resentment to the misrule of the Buhari Presidency.
The party asserts that the graffiti which demand that “Buhari Must Go”, shows that Nigerians have completely lost hope in President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC), given the unprecedented devastation, violence, poverty and economic hardship that have enveloped our nation under their watch.
These graffiti by Nigerian youths are a loud remonstration against the impunity, divineness, high level incompetence, massive corruption as well as the insensitivity of the APC and its administration to the sorry situation they have plunged our dear nation.
The Nigerian youths, by the graffiti, are demonstrating against the failure of President Buhari and the APC to take decisive steps to address the incessant mass killings, high level unemployment, poverty and economic hardship that their administration has foisted on our country.
The graffiti is also an open aversion to the looting of over N15 trillion by APC leaders at the time our nation is battling with 33% unemployment rate; at a time over 40 million Nigerian have lost their means of livelihood due to APC misrule and where most families cannot afford the basic necessities of life.
It is an open aversion to the reported looting of trillions of naira meant for the purchase of arms to secure our nation, at a time terrorists, bandits and kidnappers are having a field day ravaging our communities and killing our compatriots.
Moreover, the use of political graffiti by citizens is a global practice to express themselves particularly in democratic setting.
It is therefore a mark of intolerance, disdain and insensitivity to the plight of the people that instead of accepting and taking steps to address their anxieties, the APC chose to unleash their thugs to flog and dehumanize Nigerian citizens exercising their right to freedom of expression, as witnessed in Kogi state.
The PDP rejects the pedestrian allegations of trespass as basis for the attack on the youths, as anybody aggrieved in the direction being claimed, have the court as lawful channel for redress.
The PDP recalls how in 2014, President Buhari, then as Presidential candidate of the APC, led other leaders of his party to take to the streets and disrupted public activities in exercise of such freedom and nobody hired thugs to attack or flog them in public.
While urging Nigerians to remain calm despite these provocations, the PDP cautions the APC to note that its resort to suppression of freedom of expression cannot obliterate the fact that the people are only waiting for the next general election to flog them with their votes.

Easter: PDP Urges Hope, Optimism
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urges Nigerians to use the occasion of Easter to buoy up their hope despite the challenges they face as a result of the current misrule in our country.
The party notes that just as the triumphant resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the death on the cross dispelled the darkness that covered the earth, so shall our nation overcome all her challenges that appeared to have taken hold of our economic, social and political life.
Indeed, Easter, which underpins God's salvation to mankind, also our reinforces our collective faith that our nation will surely come out of the woods and take back her pride of place in the comity of nations.
The party notes that God, in His infinite mercy, blessed our nation with abundant natural and human resources adding that Nigerians should not be plagued with economic hardship, violence and impunity as being witnessed today.
The PDP therefore charges Nigerians not to despair but use the occasion of Easter to rekindle their hope, remain prayerful and redouble their trust in God in their collective effort to return our nation to a peaceful and virile society of free, happy and prosperous citizens.
The PDP also urges Nigerians to use the occasion to shows love by reaching out and supporting one another, especially, those who are hurting from one calamity or the other, at this critical time.
The PDP wishes all Nigerians a happy Easter celebration.

PDP Lampoons APC Over Extension of Failed Membership Registration...Says It Would Soon Expose Roles Played By Individual APC Leaders
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop pushing its fake membership registration exercise in the public space as Nigerians can no longer be swayed by such derisory venture.
The PDP asserts that the moves by the APC to declare another extension of the phony membership registration, confirms that the entire exercise is a mere sitting room manipulation designed to produce a bogus membership figure.
Our party has nothing but pity for the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led APC Caretaker Committee, which has become overweighed by the burden of producing an inflated membership register, following the rejection of the APC by Nigerians.
This is especially as the public is already aware of the disagreements among APC leaders over allocation of figures, which led to the bloody clashes that trailed the failed exercise in many states of the federation
APC ought to know that the game is over, after Nigerians rejected their monetary inducement of N10,000 per registration, even after they offered night registration in some state.
The PDP counsels the APC leadership to note that further extension of the botched exercise cannot attract the sympathy of Nigerians or give any credence to any fake figure they intend to come out with.
The outburst by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed and other APC leaders, who were ostensibly edged out in the membership allocation racket, had already exposed the plots by the APC to launch a fabricated register.
Our party urges the APC leadership to listen to voice of reasons coming from elders of their party like former Governor Bisi Akande, and end this dance of shame.
In any case, our party will, at the appropriate time, expose all the shenanigans of the APC, including the roles played by desperate individual APC leaders in this attempt to beguile Nigerians with a fictitious membership register.

PDP NWC Debunks Alleged Suspension of Party Leaders In Niger
The attention of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to some spurious claims by some misguided persons, of a purported suspension of some leaders of our great party from Niger state.
The national leadership cautions those behind the claims to desist from such, particularly, in misguiding some party officials to attempt to assume situations that are beyond their statutory powers.
For emphasis, the powers and functions of all organs of our party at all levels are as clearly spelt out in our constitution and should be strictly adhered to.
The provisions of our party’s constitution is very clear about suspension of the members of National Executive Committee
(NEC) and as such, we caution those indulging themselves in such lawless activities to desist henceforth.
In this regard, the National Working Committee (NWC) calls for calm and urge all our leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our great party in Niger state to remain united and continue to work together and resist attempts by enemies of our party to distract us from the task ahead.

Buhari’s Overseas Treatment, A Badge of Failure -PDP...Asks Mr. President to Think of Other Nigerians
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the routine overseas medical checkup embarked by President Muhammadu Buhari is a direct indictment of his Presidency over its failure to fix our healthcare system, which has been wrecked by his administration.
It is indeed worrisome that under President Buhari, even the hitherto highly rated State House Clinic, has become so moribund that it cannot provide a simple medical checkup service for Mr. President.
While the PDP has nothing against where any person, including President Buhari, seeks his or her medical services, our party is worried that the Buhari Presidency is taking no decisive steps to fix our health care system, ostensibly because Mr. President can afford overseas medical treatment at tax payers’ expense.
The PDP is disturbed that while Mr. President jets out for medical treatment in well-equipped hospitals abroad, our hospitals and medical personnel are in very sorry situation while millions of our compatriots suffer, with many dying on daily basis from conditions that have simple medical solutions.
It is indeed heartrending that Nigerians are suffering this huge misfortune of having this highly insensitive, incompetent and corrupt leadership of very selfish individuals who do not care about the welfare of other citizens.
More saddening is that all the institutions, policies and programmes established by the PDP, which hitherto ensured access to affordable healthcare for Nigerians have been wrecked by the Buhari administration.
Our party urges President Buhari to show leadership by reflecting on the fact that millions of Nigerians cannot afford overseas treatment and have become despondent by his failure to take decisive steps to address our national healthcare needs.
President Buhari must know that his duty as President is not only for his personal needs but more importantly for the needs of the generality of Nigerians.
The PDP however calls on Nigerians to remain calm and not resign to despondency as we collectively work to rescue our nation from the stranglehold of misrule.
