THE NYCN

know what NYCN is;

We the youth of Federal Republic of Nigeria; the state chapters, Local Government Branches and all the affiliate Member Organization:

1. RECOGNIZING the need to live in complete peace and harmony with one another in a world and society devoid of social inequality and injustice;

2. REALIZING the need to consciously evolve an ideal society by the DEVELOPMENT and the EMPOWERMENT of the Nigerian Youth;

3. DESIROUS to awaken the consciousness of Nigerian Youth to the development of the Nigerian state and the philosophy of Nationalism and Pan-Africanism;

4 CONSCIOUS of the to free our society from all forms of ETHNIC, RELIGIOUS and CULTURAL difference and discrimination against and amongst the Nigerian Youths; and

5. AWARE of the necessity of advancing the course of the Nigerian Youth to live in unity as an indivisible and indissoluble Nation dedicated to the promotion of the generality of the Youth of this country residing within Nigeria and in the Diaspora;
NOW THEREFORE constitute ourselves as Members of the NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA for the purpose of being the Umbrella Body and authentic mouthpiece of the Nigerian Youths for effective administration and promotion of the aims at objectives of our Youth Council.

LEGAL STATUS OF NYCN

Established and given legal recognition under the companies and Allied Matters Act1 of the 1990, part C of the FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA and the National Youth Policy.

VISION OF NYCN

To inspire and coordinate Nigerian young people towards global standards in the realization of their full potentials, dreams and aspirations, and being responsible to themselves, their families and the Nation at large.

MISSION STATEMENT!

To actualise the full rights of all Nigerian Youth to enjoy Social, Political and Economic Development and to respect the rights of others, while actively participating in all decision making process and equally complementing government efforts in nation building.

NYCN is affiliated to World Assembly of Youth, Pan-African Youth Union. Etc

AIM OF NYCN

To provide a common platform for all the structures of the Youth Council for the advancement of the course of the Nigerian Youth through enhanced social enlightenment, mobilization and coordination as a tool for complementing the effort of government and other relevant stake holders in Youth Development.

OBJECTIVES OF NYCN

1. To coordinate the activities of all nationally recognized Voluntary Youth Organizations.
11. To study various problems confronting the youth of this country and find a means of alleviating same.
111. To be responsible for the active mobilization of Nigerian Youth for Youth Development programmes nationwide.
1V. To ensure y'all international engagements by nationally recognized Voluntary Youth Organization are properly brought to the notice of the Federal Ministry of responsible yYouth affairs through the Youth Council before such engagements are undertaken.
V. To ensure effective participation of the Youth Council in international Youth activities.
V1. To evaluate at the end of the year, the programmes of activity of member Organizations and state chapters and submit it's recommendations to the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
V11. To serve as a training ground for the youth as future leaders of the country.
