PDP Kano Concludes Peaceful Primary Election, Ratifies Consensus Candidates for 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party, Kano State Chapter, successfully concluded its Primary Election, Consensus, and Affirmation exercise on 28th May, 2026, across all 44 Local Government Areas and 484 Wards of the state. The exercise was conducted in an atmosphere of order, transparency, and discipline, reaffirming the party’s unwavering commitment to internal democracy and inclusive grassroots participation. Stakeholders, ward-level agents, and LGA coordinators were fully mobilized and present to oversee all statutory proceedings in strict compliance with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.

The process was conducted under the stewardship of the duly elected State Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Ado Kibiya, whose leadership ensured coordination and adherence to due process. Hon. Kibiya, alongside other distinguished party stakeholders, formally blessed the aspirants and pledged the party’s full support at every level. The exercise produced His Excellency Kabiru K**a Kasa as the consensus gubernatorial candidate, while Hon. Muhammad Nasir Mukhtar emerged as the Senatorial candidate for Kano Central. In the same vein, all candidates for the House of Representatives and the Kano State House of Assembly were affirmed as the flag bearers of the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

KANO PDP RECEIVES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND STATE ASSEMBLY ASPIRANTS FROM TARAUNI, GWALE, KUMBOTSO, BEBEJI, AND KARAYE

The Peoples Democratic Party, Kano State Chapter, under the leadership of State Chairman Hon. Yusuf Ado Kibiya, received aspirants for the House of Representatives and Kano State House of Assembly from Tarauni, Gwale, Kumbotso, Bebeji, and Karaye Local Government Areas at the State Secretariat today.

The delegation included House of Representatives aspirants Hon. Umar Hashim, representing Tarauni Federal Constituency, and Hon. Ibrahim Isah Rabo, representing Gwale Federal Constituency. Also in attendance were State House of Assembly aspirants: Abubakar Speaker, aspirant for Tarauni Constituency; Hon. Inuwa Gargai of Bebeji; Abdulrazak Abdullahi of Gwale; Idris Abubakar of Karaye; and Comrade Abbass Abdullahi of Kumbotso LGA.

Receiving the aspirants, Hon. Yusuf Ado Kibiya commended their courage and commitment to serve the people. He urged them to work assiduously for their various constituencies and for the overall development of Kano State. He emphasized that the party expects nothing less than dedication, integrity, and loyalty to the ideals of the PDP in all their engagements with the electorate.

In their remarks, the aspirants expressed gratitude to the party for according them the opportunity to present themselves as flagbearers. No date has been fixed by the recognized leadership of the party in Kano State.

This notice did not emanate from the PDP. It is the work of unscrupulous elements seeking to mislead members and undermine the party’s image. All members are advised to disregard it, as any process conducted outside the recognized party structure is null and void.

Official information on the primary election will be communicated through recognized party channels when due. We urge members to remain vigilant and verify all information through the State Secretariat to avoid being misled.
