Wannan mataki zai ƙara inganta tsarin kula da shara tare da ƙarfafa tsaftar muhalli a faɗin Jihar Kano.

Yana da matuƙar muhimmanci a fahimci cewa waɗannan kwandunan shara an tanade su ne domin masu wucewa a ƙasa, matafiya da sauran masu amfani da tituna su zubar da ƙananan shara. BA a tanade su domin masu shaguna da ’yan kasuwa su zubar da sharar kasuwancinsu ko ta gidajensu ba.

Muna kira ga masu shaguna, ’yan kasuwa, kamfanoni da sauran masu ruwa da tsaki da su yi koyi da wannan kyakkyawan mataki ta hanyar samar da kwandunan shara a wuraren kasuwancinsu da tabbatar da zubar da shara yadda ya kamata.

Tonight, the Kano State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, recorded another milestone in its commitment to a cleaner and healthier Kano with the installation of another set of litter-control waste bins along major roads across the state.

This initiative further strengthens waste management infrastructure and promotes effective environmental sanitation.

It is paramount to note that these bins are strictly for passers-by, commuters, and other road users to dispose of small litter. They are NOT intended for business owners to dump commercial or household waste.

We urge all business owners, shop operators, and corporate organisations to emulate this initiative by providing waste bins within their premises and ensuring proper waste disposal.

Keeping Kano clean is a collective responsibility. Let us all play our part in building a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful Kano State.

In line with the commitment of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to building a cleaner and healthier Kano, REMASAB has intensified follow-up inspections of establishments sanctioned by its Mobile Environmental Sanitation Court.

The inspection recorded compliance levels between 10% and 95%, with Tahir Guest Place recording the highest at 95%, while L&Z, Alu Avenue, recorded the lowest at 10%.

REMASAB reiterates that environmental sanitation is not optional. Establishments that fail to comply with prescribed standards will face further enforcement action.

Under the present administration, a cleaner Kano is a collective responsibility, and compliance is non-negotiable.

In line with the vision and directive of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, we today held a strategic engagement with the Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA), Kano State, to strengthen collaboration on environmental sanitation and waste management across private healthcare institutions.

The meeting focused particularly on the proper segregation, handling, collection, transportation and safe disposal of biomedical waste, recognising the potential risks it poses to public health and the environment when not properly managed.

At REMASAB, we are committed to building stronger institutional partnerships, enforcing environmental standards and promoting responsible waste management practices across all sectors.

A clean and healthy Kano requires collective responsibility. Together, we can protect our people and our environment.

In line with the vision of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, REMASAB, under my leadership, has intensified environmental sanitation enforcement across the metropolis through its weekly Mobile Sanitation Court.

The exercise resulted in sanctions against Jaiz Bank, Tahir Guest Hotel, Ten to Ten Restaurant, and other establishments over violations including poor environmental hygiene, indiscriminate littering, blocked drainage, cobwebs, rusted facilities and failure to comply with PPE requirements.

Jaiz Bank and Tahir Guest Hotel were handed an alternative of two weeks’ imprisonment, while Ten to Ten Restaurant received an alternative of five days’ imprisonment.

This enforcement is not merely punitive; it is about compliance, public health and collective responsibility. No establishment is above environmental sanitation regulations.

REMASAB will continue regular monitoring and enforcement to ensure a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Kano State.

In line with the vision and directive of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, REMASAB joined Keep It Clean Africa Initiative and over 100 student volunteers to successfully conduct the World Clean-Up Day Exercise at Kano Line Park and Bayero University Kano (BUK) New Site.

REMASAB provided sanitation tools, PPEs, first aid support and waste evacuation services, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Kano.

This is more than a clean-up exercise it is a demonstration that government, students, civil society and communities can work together to protect our environment.

Under the leadership of REMASAB, we will continue to support initiatives that advance the Operation Kano TSAF-TSAF agenda.

Despite the sustained intervention of the Kano State Government under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to ensure the immediate evacuation of accumulated waste and maintain clean and healthy communities, some individuals continue to deliberately dump refuse on roads and other unauthorised locations.

This is unacceptable.

The government has demonstrated commitment. REMASAB has responded with action—our teams evacuate the waste, clear the affected areas and restore environmental order. Yet, within hours, some people return to the same locations and dump waste again.

That cycle ends now.

The government’s commitment to a cleaner Kano is not a campaign slogan; it is a responsibility we are determined to fulfil. Henceforth, indiscriminate dumping of waste on roads, streets and unauthorised locations will attract strengthened monitoring and enforcement.

We will not allow the irresponsibility of a few to undermine the collective efforts of government and the millions of responsible residents of Kano State.

Let it be clear: Kano is changing, and environmental indiscipline has no place in the Kano we are building.

We call on residents, business owners and community leaders to support the government by disposing of waste responsibly and using approved collection points.
