DR. GBENGA HASHIM MOURNS VICTIMS OF ONDO AIR CRASH, DEMANDS THOROUGH PROBE

The Presidential Candidate of Accord Party, Dr. Gbenga Hashim, has expressed profound shock and deep sadness over the tragic crash of a Nigerian Air Force aircraft in Ondo State, which led to the loss of lives of gallant personnel in active service to the nation.

Dr. Hashim described the incident as a painful and colossal national loss, noting that the fallen officers were patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of Nigeria's unity and security. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the Chief of Air Staff, the Nigerian Air Force, and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria, praying that God will grant the bereaved families the strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss.

He further stated that at a time when the nation relies heavily on the bravery and professionalism of its Armed Forces to confront security challenges, the welfare, safety and operational integrity of our military must be treated as a matter of highest national priority. He emphasized that every life lost in such circumstances diminishes us as a nation.

Consequently, Dr. Hashim called on the Federal Government and relevant aviation and military authorities to institute a thorough, transparent and independent investigation into the remote and immediate causes of the crash. He stressed that the findings should be made public and that urgent measures must be taken to address any technical, systemic or operational gaps identified, to prevent a recurrence of this painful tragedy.
