The Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS) is pleased to announce the successful induction of four of its staff members Awaisu Karoni, Ibrahim Bisihir, Aliyu Ibrahim, and Mustapha Namare into the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), held in Abuja.
The Management of the Service, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Alh. Muhammad Isyaku, FCTI, FCNA, sponsored the staff for the professional programme as part of its commitment to capacity building, professionalism, and improved service delivery.
This milestone reflects KTIRS’ dedication to strengthening institutional competence and enhancing tax administration in line with global best practices.

The Dutsinma Zone Informal Sector Revenue Collection and Monitoring Committee of the Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS) today, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, conducted a monitoring and compliance exercise at the Kankia Local Government Weekly Market.
The visit was aimed at assessing, reviewing, and enforcing adherence to the digital collection of informal sector revenue within the area.
The Committee, led by the Executive Director, Standards and Compliance, Dr. Kabir Abdullahi Yantumaki, engaged extensively with market stakeholders to ensure that revenue collection processes are fully aligned with the digital transformation agenda of the Katsina State Government.
During the exercise, emphasis was placed on transparency, accountability, and efficiency in revenue administration. The Committee noted that the adoption of digital platforms will significantly reduce leakages, enhance compliance, and strengthen the revenue base of local government councils.
Market leaders and traders were also sensitized on the advantages of the digital system, including ease of payment, proper documentation, and effective dispute resolution. The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to sustained monitoring and enforcement to ensure full compliance across the informal sector.
In a related development, the Katsina State Government under the leadership of Dikko Umar Radda, CON, PhD, has undertaken the renovation of the abattoir (slaughterhouse) in Kankia Local Government, alongside the upgrading of the livestock (sheep) market. This initiative is aimed at improving hygiene standards, enhancing meat processing, and modernizing the Kankia market to meet contemporary standards, thereby boosting economic activities and ensuring a safer environment for both traders and consumers.
The exercise forms part of the broader efforts of KTIRS to strengthen revenue administration and enhance internally generated revenue for sustainable development in the state.
The exercise was attended by Directors of KTIRS, including Alh. Musa Mamman Dawai, Alh. Abdurrahman Ibrahim Zango, Alh. Abdu Sani, and Musa Dikko.

TODAY’S ACTIVITIES
The Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS) recorded significant engagements today as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen revenue administration and institutional efficiency across the State.
The Executive Chairman of KTIRS, Alh. Muhammad Isyaku, FCTI, FCNA, received members of the TSA Implementation Committee, led by Dr. Salisu Ladan, Technical Adviser on TSA to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, on a courtesy visit to his office. The meeting provided a platform for strategic discussions on enhancing the Treasury Single Account (TSA) framework and improving revenue management processes in the State.
In a related development, vendors from Katsina Local Government Area held a meeting on the newly inaugurated revenue collection system. The session, chaired by the Executive Director, Revenue Operations, Alh. Al-Mustapha Bashir Rafindadi, focused on strengthening efficiency, accountability, and professionalism in revenue administration. Vendors were urged to strictly adhere to established guidelines to ensure a transparent and sustainable system.
Furthermore, KTIRS successfully onboarded Ingawa and Yandoma Markets into the newly introduced informal sector revenue collection system. The exercise was led by the Director, Tax Audit, Alh. Mansur Bature Kankara, who supervised the implementation and sensitization of traders and stakeholders. The initiative is aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and improved efficiency in revenue collection within the informal sector.
These activities underscore KTIRS’ commitment to reforms, transparency, and the development of a robust and sustainable revenue system in Katsina State.

Monitoring of Revenue Collection at Dutsinma Local Government Area
The Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS) today monitored the digital collection of revenue at the Dutsinma Local Government Area. The exercise recorded significant success, with improved compliance and efficiency observed among taxpayers.
The monitoring was led by Dr. Kabir Abdullahi Yantumaki, Executive Director, accompanied by Directors Jamilu Farin Yaro and Abdurrahman Zango, as well as Assistant Director Musa Mamman Dawai, Abdullahi Sani, and Musa Dikko, together with the Area Revenue Officer for Dutsinma Local Government Area.
The Committee noted that all revenues were collected using the approved POS terminals, and that the collections were strictly based on the approved rates.
KTIRS remains committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and a seamless taxpayer experience across all Local Government Areas.

The Executive Chairman of the Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS), Alh. Muhammad Isyaku, FCTI, FCNA, alongside the Executive Directors of the Service, paid a congratulatory visit to the newly elected Katsina State APC Chairman and Chairman of the KTIRS Board, Alh. Bishir Gambo.
The visit was to felicitate with him on his emergence as the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while also wishing him a successful and impactful tenure.
The Executive Chairman was accompanied by the Executive Directors: Alh. Mustapha Bashir Rafindadi, Hon. Murtala Muhammad Kankara, Dr. Kabir Abdullahi Yantumaki, and Alh. Kabir Isa Fago.
During the visit, the Executive Chairman commended Alh. Bishir Gambo for his leadership qualities and expressed confidence in his ability to effectively pilot the affairs of the party in the state. The Executive Chairman, Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS), Alh. Muhammad Isyaku, FCTI, FCNA, today received vendors from Funtua Zone under the leadership of the Sarkin Kasuwar Faskari, where discussions were held on key issues relating to revenue collection and market operations.
Earlier, the Daura Zone Informal Sector Revenue Collection Committee carried out a routine surveillance visit to Mashi Market to ensure that revenue collection activities are conducted in an orderly, transparent, and accountable manner.
The visit was led by the Executive Director, Digital and Statistics, Alhaji Kabir Isa Fago, alongside other committee members, who monitored activities across different sections of the market to ensure compliance with established procedures.
In a related development, the Executive Director, Digital and Statistics, Alhaji Kabir Isa Fago, also engaged with vendors in Daura Local Government as part of preparations for the commencement of the informal sector revenue collection system in Daura.
These activities form part of the Service’s continuous efforts to strengthen revenue administration and support the ongoing reforms of the Katsina State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, CON.

The Daura Zone Informal Sector Revenue Collection Committee carried out a routine surveillance visit to Mashi Market to ensure that revenue collection activities are conducted in an orderly, transparent, and accountable manner.
The visit was conducted under the leadership of the Director ICT, Alhaji Awaisu Karoni, alongside other members of the committee. During the exercise, the team toured different sections of the market to monitor the ongoing revenue collection process and ensure compliance with established procedures.
The surveillance forms part of the Service’s continuous monitoring activities aimed at strengthening revenue administration and ensuring proper implementation of revenue policies across markets in the state.
The exercise also highlighted the positive impact of the ongoing revenue reforms being implemented by the Katsina State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, CON, toward improving internally generated revenue and supporting developmental initiatives across the state.

OFFICIAL VISITS TO THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, KTIRS
The Executive Chairman of the Katsina State Internal Revenue Service (KTIRS), Muhammad Isyaku FCTI, FCNA, today received several delegations who paid visits to his office.
Among the visitors were members of the Nigerian Bar Association Katsina Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association on an official visit to the Service. The meeting provided an opportunity for discussions on areas of mutual interest and institutional cooperation.
In another engagement, the Executive Chairman also received the Leader of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Shamsuddeen Abubakar Dabai, alongside the Member representing Baure Constituency, Hon. Surajo Umar, during a visit to his office.
Similarly, the Arewa Women Art and Craft Initiative led by its CEO, Yesmeen Bature, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman and presented a handmade gift as a token of appreciation.
The Executive Chairman appreciated the visits and reaffirmed the commitment of KTIRS to collaboration with relevant stakeholders in strengthening revenue administration for the development of Katsina State.
