ADC Unveils Angbazo/Yakubu Ticket for 2027 Nasarawa Governorship Race
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Nasarawa State, has formally unveiled Major General Nuhu Angbazo (Rtd) as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections, with Hassan Yakubu Anya, Esq. as his running mate.
The announcement was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary of the ADC Transitional Leadership Team in the state, Alhaji Isa Na’adare, and made available to journalists in Lafia on Tuesday, 9th September 2026.
According to the statement, the adoption of the Angbazo/Yakubu ticket followed extensive consultations with party stakeholders across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.
The party described the ticket as a product of inclusivity, equity, fairness, and unity among the various communities, ethnic groups, and senatorial zones in Nasarawa State.
“The emergence of the Angbazo/Yakubu ticket reflects the ADC’s commitment to the principles of inclusivity, equity, fairness, and unity among communities, ethnic groups, and zones in Nasarawa State,” the statement read.
The ADC noted that the ticket combines experience and integrity, adding that it is confident the duo possesses the leadership qualities required to address the challenges facing the state.
“Major General Nuhu Angbazo (Rtd) brings decades of distinguished service, discipline, and commitment to national security and public service.
Hassan Yakubu Anya, Esq. brings legal expertise, youth energy, and a strong record of advocacy for good governance and community development,” the party stated.
The ADC said the Angbazo/Yakubu ticket represents a balanced and competent team ready to provide inclusive leadership, restore security, and drive sustainable development across Nasarawa State.
The party appreciated all stakeholders, leaders, and members whose consultations made the credible and unifying ticket possible.
It called on all ADC members and the people of Nasarawa State to rally behind the ticket to “Rescue and Rebuild Nasarawa" in 2027.”
“The time has come for a government that works for all. A government of unity, justice, and progress.
One Nasarawa. One People. ADC is the answer!” the statement concluded.
