THE KEFFI UNITY STORY

Sunday, 4th October 2026, marked a remarkable moment in Keffi and Nasarawa West.

For the first time, two previously divided Fulani factions from Nasarawa West came together in one gathering and endorsed Rtd. IGP Muhammad Adamu Abubakar, the SDP Governorship Candidate, as their preferred candidate.

The gathering reflected Rtd. IGP Muhammad Adamu Abubakar’s role as a unifier—bringing people together despite longstanding differences.

Special recognition also goes to Shettiman Keffi, whose humility, relationships and grassroots leadership helped bridge the divide and bring the two groups together.

Indeed, many described the development as something even successive governments, including the present government, had never achieved.

Rtd. IGP provided the unifying leadership; Shettiman Keffi helped build the bridge.

What happened in Keffi was more than an endorsement.

It was a powerful story of unity.

2027: We’ll Fix Neglected Rural Roads, Prioritize Healthcare And Agriculture -Adamu

“We will not neglect the social amenities that are required. We have gone round the state and we have seen that all the roads in the hinterlands are neglected. We will make sure that we take care of them.

“We will provide the healthcare that is needed, not only in the urban cities but also in the rural areas.

“Nasarawa State is an agrarian state. We have vast expanses of land that are conducive for agriculture. We shall invest heavily in it so as to feed our families, feed the people of the state, and also the country at large.

“Nasarawa State is also endowed with mineral resources. The way it is being handled now, the way it is being exploited, it is not to the benefit of the people of the state. We are going to look into how it has been handled and make sure that the benefits come to the people.

2027: Young Writer Backs Ex-IGP Adamu, Says He Is Best For Nasarawa

A young Nigerian writer, Mr. Daniel Pishikeni, has declared support for former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State.

Adamu is aspiring to contest the election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

In a Facebook post over the weekend, Pishikeni said his decision was reached after careful consideration and would stand unless the former police chief withdraws from the race.

He said his political stance has never been driven by a “by force, by power” mentality, stressing that he does not follow the crowd nor associate with power-hungry individuals.

Pishikeni noted that his support for Adamu is not motivated by personal gain but by what he believes is in the best interest of Nasarawa State.

“My choice to support him is not based on what I can get from him or what he can give me. It is a well-thought-out and selfless decision driven by what I believe is best for Nasarawa State,” he stated.

He urged friends, family and well-wishers to consider the candidate’s track record, ideas and vision for the state before making their own informed decisions.

Rtd IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, CFR, NPM, mni, the SDP Governorship Candidate for the 2027 Nasarawa State Governorship Election, alongside his wife, Hajiya Rukayya Abubakar Adamu (Kwalliyar Lafia), yesterday commissioned the Nasarawa North Zonal Campaign Office in Akwanga, the headquarters of Nasarawa North Senatorial District.

The commissioning marks another significant step in strengthening the campaign’s grassroots presence and coordination across Nasarawa North.
