29/05/2026

It was a fun fair During the Sallah celebrations in Okene , the love was massive. My people are so lovely, accommodating, and real. I didn't have to ask for it the warmth was effortless. Truly overwhelmed by the love and warm reception from the people. Seeing the crowd of supporters, women, and youths line the streets with dances, songs, and chants reminded me how deep our grassroots connection is.I thanked everyone for their peaceful conduct and urged us to keep up Our reputation for unity and political maturity during and after the process.

Barr. Ahmed Jatto was accorded a rousing reception by a massive crowd of supporters, party faithful, women, and youths who lined the streets of Otutu Ward in solidarity and admiration. The enthusiastic supporters welcomed her with traditional dances, cultural displays, songs, and chants, further demonstrating her deep grassroots connection and widespread acceptance among the people.

Addressing the energized gathering before the commencement of vote counting, Barr. Ahmed Jatto commended the people for their peaceful conduct, maturity, and commitment to democracy. She urged them to sustain the long-standing tradition of peace and unity associated with Otutu Ward.

“Otutu Ward has always been known for peace and political maturity, both during and after elections. Let us continue to uphold that reputation today by ensuring a peaceful, orderly, and credible process,” she stated.

She further called on the people to continue giving their unwavering support to the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, noting that the success of the present government depends largely on the collective support, prayers, and cooperation of the people.

Political observers noted that the overwhelming reception accorded to the ACReSAL Coordinator further highlighted her growing influence and strategic importance within the APC structure in Kogi Central, beyond her administrative responsibilities.

The APC primaries form part of the party’s internal democratic process aimed at selecting its candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Special appreciation to His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, for prioritizing environmental degradation issues, driving positive change for the people of Kogi State. This was evident during a routine inspection of the near-completed gully erosion sites, accompanied by the World Bank/FPMU Engineering team.
