*NATIONAL UNION OF TEACHERS (NUT) OJO BRANCH PAYS CONGRATULATORY VISIT TO IBA COUNCIL MAYOR*

The newly elected Executives of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), Ojo branch ably led by Comr. Alaba Alape (Union Chairman) paid a congratulatory visit to the Executive Chairman of Iba LCDA, *Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril (Abila)*. The visit aimed to felicitate with the Chairman on his re-election victory and to strengthen the bond between the teaching community and the local government authority.

During the courtesy visit, the NUT Executives expressed their appreciation to the Chairman on his commitment to education and community development within Iba LCDA. They also reiterated that the union is ready to collaborate with the local government in advancing policies that will enhance the welfare of teachers and improve learning outcomes in schools across Iba LCDA, by extension Ojo Local Government.

As part of the visit the union seized the opportunity to also request from the Executive Chairman the need to have a befitting secretariat and a union bus to be able to make the job of the union Executives easy.

In response, the Mayor of Iba LCDA *Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril (ABILA)* warmly welcomed the union leaders and assured them of his administration’s continuous support in the education sector. He emphasized that teachers remain the foundation of community growth and pledged to foster stronger partnerships to uplift both teachers and students in the LCDA.

As part of his response
he also encouraged the union to mobilize its members to take the opportunity available to register for the ongoing permanent voters card (PVC) registration emphasizing the need for all and sundry to have it for whatever purpose but most especially for the upcoming general election in 2027.

In attendance are members of the NUT executives including Comr. Ariyibi, Deputy Chairman; Comr. Olayiwola, 1st Vice Chairman; Comr. Oluwadunsi, 2nd Vice Chairman; Comr. He said in his speech delivered by his Media handlers that "This is our heritage and it is the only thing that distinguished us from the foreigners and as Lagosians we should keep our tradition, home and land safe for it is widely known that Lagos belongs to the AWORIS, EGUNS, ISALE EKOS, IJEBUS IN IKORODU AND EPE respectfully."

Further, he made it known that the language or words of "LAGOS IS NO MAN'S LAND" should be cleared to those who are the owners of the land are having their ritual rites and for this reasons everyone should stay out of limits and maintain the rules and laws of the land.

For every residents and Indigenes who will be participating in this year Isèse festival, please maintain peace and celebrate with love and harmony, as it is for the progress and prospect of the land.

*PERMANENT VOTERS' CARD REGISTRATION NOTICE*

Dear residents of Iba Local Council Development Area, this is to notify you of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s schedules for registration of Permanent Voters' Card (PVC) which is to start on August 18th, 2025.

The registration exercise is applicable to citizens of 18 years and above, to register for their PVC's which is an integral tool in exercising their franchise.

Below is the schedule:

*18th, August 2025:* Online pre-registration of Continuous Voter Registration “CVR“ starts via the online portal: [cvr.inecnigeria.org](https://cvr.inecnigeria.org) to supply necessary information about themselves.

*25th, August 2025:* Applicants will proceed to visit the INEC local government office beside the health centre, Igbede, Ojo for their biometric registration.q The physical biometrics is needed to finalize application.

The exercise is also open to persons who already have PVC's but wish to change their address or correct information, likewise for replacement of lost or defaced PVC.

Parents should endeavor to get their wards who are over the age of 18 but yet to register to participate in the exercise.

Your PVC is your weapon to exercise your right at the polls.
