Lectures was fun today.
My first day in school after I lost my memory
It was tiring but still, very exciting.
Music class was the most exciting part.
All the teachers they tend to know me
But I don't remember any of them.
I had fun!
Looking forward to more.

I was on my seat
I was looking around me and smiling to no one in particular.
Jay was sitting at my side.
He turned to me and I gave him a vacant smile.
" Hey, you're coming.?" He asked beaming with smiles.
"Coming? Where?" I asked.
"We have a game, basketball precisely
I'd like it if you can come over to watch me play." He said.
I smiled
Sure my heart wanted me to say yes
But I can't
I know if I accept his proposal I'd be going against my decision not to get entangled with him.
"I'd love to but I can't." I said avoiding his gaze.
"Why?." He asked
"Uhmmm...

He interrupted me
"Alright I'd still wait for you, perhaps you change your mind." He said.
I didn't reply
"Anyways see you later."He said smiling at me and getting up
I nodded and smiled
He took a glance at me before he left.
Walking away
"Jeez that was so close." I muttered.
So what's next
My stomach grumbled.
I was so hungry.
I got up from my chair and I walked out of the classroom
I was walking down the corridor.
I was so lost in thought
I didn't know when I bumped into someone
"Oh am so sorry." I said holding my head..
I looked up at the person
It was the girl I met earlier today.
The one that claimed to be my best friend.
She sliced me with a glare.
I was speechless.
I felt bad guilty and horrible.
She didn't say a thing.
Then she walked away.
"I guess I should be apologizing better." I muttered to myself and I ran after her.
I caught up with her.
" Hey." I said coming to stand in front of her.
"Hey." She replied.
"Am so sorry, I really am, I guess I should explain things to you." I said to her.
"I........ " I said trying to state something.
But I got interrupted by my growling stomach
Protesting for food.
She smiled at me
I chuckled
"Hungry? " she asked grinning with smile.
It was embarrassing
Thank God it was just both of us there.
I nodded
And gave out a soft laugh.
"Alright then, we'd talk over snack." She said.
And squinted at me
I stood there for a minute
Maybe I was supposed to say something else.
I wasn't sure
I stood there for a few seconds liner.
"Come on JD let's go." She said
I followed her
She was holding a fancy box.
She stopped at the garden and sat down on one of the benches.
I sat beside her.

She smikex and opened her bixe.
Brought out some chocolate cup cakes and a bowl of ice cream
"These are or would I say were you're favorites."She stated. "Are." I said
My face was soft eyes watering

"You really do not remember?." She asked getting surprised.
She came closer to me, it started me
"Please don't."I shouted at her
She je**ed
"Wow, it's fine." She snapped
She shot a spiteful and hurtful look at me before walking away.
I felt like I've wronged her
But it's not my fault
I just don't remember.
My heart was numb
My breath tightened in my lungs.
I stared off at some invisible spot in the air
My eyes jacked up to full voltage.
My head tilted into depression.
I leaned forward and rested my head on the edge of the table.
I was lost in thoughts
Lost in my own thoughts
I felt a sudden touch on my shoulder.
I lifted my head
I saw Jay
"Hey." He said sitting down
Occupying his space behind me.
"Hi." I replied.
"Are you ok?." He asked
I nodded
"Are you sure?" He asked again.
I lifted my eyes and gave him a Serene half smile and said
"Yeah."
"Heads up, it's time for music class." He said

I leaned backward on my chair and brought out my book and biro
Rapping my knuckles impatiently against the table.
I reach below the table and came up with my shade.
The sun was extremely hot
And it was making me feel uncomfortable.
I stole a glimpse at Jay
He looked happy
He was talking with a boy on the other side of the class
I envy him
He looks so happy and content
Less concerned about everything
I wish I had my memories
I felt so empty
Even if my memories are that bad
There will always be a good one to keep me at the bright side
I just
I just need em back
I need my memories back
I made a lot of decisions
The ones that concerned Jay
And the ones that wasn't about him.
I made up my mind to focus on regaining my my memories
Not getting emotionally attached to Jay
Why?
Because he is nothing but a distraction
Deep deep deep down inside my heart
I knew it was a lie
But...
I just have to do this.
I'd treat him like a normal friend
No special feelings attached
Moreover he has Juliet
So I've got nothing to do with him
Emotionally
I made up my mind to cut off every lingering feeling
Sure I'd get to associate with him in a friendship zone only.
But nothing emotional
I'd do away with all my emotions.
That's for the best I think.
I was still staring at him.
He caught me looking at him
And he smiled
I smiled back.
I was studying him
My eyes scouring his features

All I've said and decided to do
The question is can I do away with Jay?

He came closer to me
Jay came closer
Very close I could feel his breath on my face.
I was ticklish.
My mouth pulled into a straight line
My mouth started wavering.
He brought out his hands
He brought it to my face
And went for lip.
He touched my upper lip back and front
And went for the lower one
I je**ed.
He touched the side of my lip
I winced and groaned

It felt like I had an injury there.
I touched it and I moved back
He was still staring at me
I avoided his gaze again
I walked away from him.
I saw a mirror
I walked and turned my back at Jay
I looked at the mirror
I saw a bruise on the side
On the side of my lip.

I could see reflections of Jay in the mirror,he was still looking at me.
He took a step forward
My heart skipped a beat
He came closer than me
I could see him at my back from the mirror.

"Jayden." He said
He was about saying something else
He got interrupted by the med teacher
She came in and saw us together
I rushed back to bed and I sat down
She smiled at me as if she understood what happened.
I smiled back at her.
"How are you feeling now?." She asked walking towards me.
Jay retreated
He went out of the med room
"Am perfectly fine." I replied but my gaze was on Jay
Looking at his back as he left the room.
I sighed.
Perfect timing!
She came to me
And checked my temperature blood pressure and all that.
Few minutes later she was done with her check up
"Can I go now?." I asked feeling anxious
"Sure you're good to go." She said.
I stood up from the bed and started walking to the door.
"I hope I didn't ruin your moment with him?." She asked.
I smiled
"What moment ?
Not at all ma'am thank you." I said
She smiled and said
"You're welcome." I nodded and went out of the room
As I was walking down the hallway
I saw Jay
He was in the basketball court.
He was sitting on one of the benches.

I was walking down to meet him.

Then,I saw a girl coming to sit beside him.

He smiled.
I paused
What was I thinking?
Why was I going to him?
He looked really happy
I stood there for a second or more

I've never seen him this happy.
And the girl,
She looked familiar

She got up

She made funny faces at him and she ran away
He stood up and chased her

Till he finally caught her

I felt so pained
I felt Iike I was being hit in my stomach

I laughed

I shook my head
And I walked away.

I was walking down the school, around
Moving about.
I was recollecting my memories
I went to places without directions from anyone.
I could remember the library and the garden

I remembered

I remembered the sorroundings
The school sorroundings

Most especially the science laboratory
Memories of me around all these places returned to me.
I smiled I was happy.
The bell rang again
Signifying end of break period

My stomach grumbled
Oh no I didn't eat.
"Too bad." I muttered to myself and I walked away
I was going back to the class.

I got to the class
I was going to my seat.
As I was about settling down
Someone hugged me from behind
I je**ed.
Who could that be this time?
"Long time no see girly." I heard the person say.
It was a female's voice.
If I'm accurate.

I was astonished.
I turned back to see a girl
Smiling and grinning.
Not again.
I closed my eyes
"JD are you ok?." She asked
I nodded.
"You're sure?
You look like you've seen a ghost." She said teasing
I managed to smile
She sat down on the chair
Jay's space
I sat down too
Trying hard not to look like a fool
"How was your holiday?" She asked.
I didn't reply
She looked familiar
And the name she called me
"JD" sounded very familiar
I closed my eyes and tried remembering
I just couldn't.

"Am sorry who are you?" I asked her getting uncomfortable
With her hugs and smiles.
She was taken aback
She was transfixed

"Who? what?
What's up with you JD." She said
She laughed thinking I was just pulling her legs
I didn't smile
I didn't laugh
I was just looking at her

"You're kidding right?,Oh no, you don't remember me?" She asked
"I'm your best friend."
She said
I nodded
"Wow why? How?."
She said coming closer to me.

"Please don't." I said getting up and moving away

"Jay help." I screamed
I found myself falling to the ground
My head was banging
I saw people rushing towards
Jay was already on his knees behind me
His hands came over me

"Take her to the med room." I heard a voice say
As I closed my eyes and I went unconscious..

"Jayden Jayden can you hear me?" A voice said
I opened my eyes I saw
A woman looking at me
I tried remembering what happened

"My head hurts." I managed to say
"Get me pain relief and sedatives." I heard her say.
She administered the drugs to me

I was really confused
I don't know why
Am just so attracted to her.
Though I didn't know her name from the start
But the moment I saw her
I liked her.
We were okay yesterday
Though I know she's passing through a lot of things
I understand that
But I don't understand the Strange and weird reaction she gave me today
She apologized the last time for doing that

I left the class,I went downstairs to get some fresh air
In reality
Walking down the school passage keeping an eye for Jayden.
Then I saw her
She was in the basketball court
I walked along the court and waved at her
She ignored me
It hurt me really
Am trying to be nice and get close to her
But she keeps pushing me away
I stole a glimpse at her she looked uncomfortable
She was uneasy
I was watching her.
Suddenly she screamed and called me to help her, while she fell to the ground

Knelt down

What happened she didn't say a thing
She was burning up
I carried her from the ground.
", Stay with me you will be fine." I said to her
Then she closed her eyes and went unconscious
I took her to the med room.
Students followed me
They wanted to what happened
They surrounded me as I carried her to the room
We got to the room

The med teacher sent them away
And asked me to drop her on the bed
I dropped her on the bed positioning her head on the pillow.

The med teacher attended to her
I sat on the chair watching them.
I was shivering
I was nervous actually
I just hoped she'd be fine
"Her name is Jayden Wayne right." She asked me
I nodded.

Few minutes later
Jayden opened her eyes and groaned
The med teacher asked her if she was okay.
"My head hurts." She said
I stood up and went closer to her.

The med teacher sent her assistant to bring her pain relief and sedatives
Her assistant went out
Few minutes later she came back with the drugs
The med teacher administered the drugs to her and she slept off.
I sat on the chair close to her, studying her face,she had a round face,she emitted an aura of softness
Her face was rested,my gaze went to her lip,she had an injury at the side of her lips.
Woah
How come?
Did she hit her lip on something?
I touched her hair.
My heart skipped a beat,
She opened her eyes and smiled and winced in pain
"Hey." I said
"Hey." She replied softly.
He was staring at me.

He was looking at me
He made my heart aflutter.
"How are you feeling now?" He asked me
"Jay am fine." I replied as I tried to get up,
He rushed to help me up.
"Are you sure you can do this?" He asked
"Yeah am fine,am better now it is nothing serious." I said avoiding his gaze.

"Thanks,thanks for bringing me here
And for answering me when I called for help." I said apologizing
I was feeling guilty.
"Am sorry for my reactions earlier."
He did not say a thing
He came closer to me
My mouth pulled into a straight line.

I'm Jay Jackson.
I join the institution 6months ago.
After my father in my presence
My life changed.

"Good morning class." Someone said walking into the classroom.

I saw an empty seat
As I took a step forward everyone, there were looking at me.

I was nervous
You how it feels to be in a new surrounding with everyone looking at you, expecting you to make a mistake? that was how I felt.

I took a deep breath and took a step forward.
Then it became easy
I walked to the empty seat and I dropped my bag and I sat down.

I looked right, a boy and a girl.
Obviously it was two on a seat.
I prayed no one comes to sit with me

That would be embarrassing.

Few minutes later
I was forgotten and every one continued with what they were doing.
Talking, reading, playing, laughing, running around.

My breath stopped in my throat..for one glorious moment I felt his strong hands on my shoulders,and then he put me back on my feet and said curtly

This was the first time I have ever got a close and clear look of him..

I closed my eyes, memory of him wearing the tie occasionally came rushing back to me

My memory is more important to me right now.

So am left with no option than to resume back with my school
More importantly it should help me regain my memories.
"Sure dad." I said
I'd be going back to my school.
Dad smiled at me
I smiled back.
"Just a minute dad let me drop the bag you brought, let me take them to my room." I said
He nodded then I walked away.
I got back to my room dropped the bag and rushed back
Dad was waiting for me
I went to meet him and held his hand.
"Let's go then." He said and we walked through the exit.

We got downstairs school buses were coming and leaving
Different school buses..
We saw Miss Charlotte waving at us
She walked down to meet us with a school bag and a purse.
"Hello,Mr Wayne." She said
"Hello." My dad replied.
"Jay these are for you." She said and handed them over to me
"In the purse you've got all the things you need,your shades and all that, just help yourself out." She said
"Sure ma'am." I replied
She smiled and I thanked her.
"One more thing." She said
", Yeah?." I asked
"Try as much as possible to stay away from the lights and sun beam,or if you have no option please make use of the shade." She said
I nodded.
I wanted to say something but my dad interrupted me.
"I don't know if it's okay for her to resume to her school?." My dad asked.
"She wants that?." She asked my dad
"Yeah." My dad replied.
"That's nice, that's a good decision,it would help her regain her memories." She said
I smiled.

💫💫💫💫💫
"Thanks again I'd be the one to take her to school,is there a problem with that?." My dad asked.
"No,not at all." She replied.

"Bye Jay." She said
I waved and said
"Bye see you soon."

We walked to the parking lot
And I got into dad's car.
He got in too
And he drove off.

We didn't say anything
I felt liked he didn't want me to start buzzing him with questions
So I didn't say anything till we got to school.

Few minutes later we got to the school entrance.
Dad got down and opened the door for me.
I smiled as I got down

Dad came and hugged me.
"Jay what grade are you in?"
He asked
I laughed
"I really don't know" I said
He laughed really hard
It was the first time I saw him laugh since I lost my memory.
He looked happy.
",Jay you're in grade six don't forget." He said
I smiled and said
"Thanks Dad."
He kissed my forehead and let me go

"Have a nice day in school" he said
"You too Dad, have a great day."

He walked back to his car.
"Go on,go have fun " he said.
I nodded and walked away.

Here I come
I walked along the corridor
I saw different faces
Walking laughing playing
Running
I felt so nervous.
I stood there

I felt someone's touch on my shoulders
Who could that be
I je**ed and shivered
I was so afraid.

He was standing so close to me.
Jay was standing so close to me, I was so shy 😊 😊
I avoided his gaze, I kept my gaze focused hard on my own hands, waiting for my heart beat to sound less like thunder in my ears
He bent his face towards me his hand came to stroke across the cool flood of my hair.
I gasped,I pushed a hand through the cloud of my hair, wishing that I had brushed it before I came.
I took a step backwards,he smiled and said
"Let's sit over there." Pointing to the bench
I looked at his broad as he walked away to the bench.
I stood there transfixed for a minute or so,he waved at me.
I shook all the things going through my head.

💫💫💫💫💫

I walked to him and I sat down.
We sat so close,our shoulders were meeting each other, no one said a word.
"You're suffering from trauma too?" He asked
I nodded and said"more like it"
"I came here six months ago,was going through some psychological issues so I was brought here and you?" He asked me
"Am suffering from insomnia and Amnesia" I replied,
"Am so sorry." He said looking at me
I avoided his gaze and said
"It's fine." He began again
"Tommorow we are resuming school,we would be going back to school." He said.
"Oh really? School? Alright!." I said feeling excited.
"Yeah, everyone over here.
Though we are under special care here,but going to school is not excluded." He explained.
"Okay......" I said
"So what form are you in?." He asked.
"Form?." I muttered.
"I don't really know,I can't remember." I said trying to recall.
"Wow, you really don't remember? Your memory loss is that bad?." He asked
I nodded.
"Am so sorry." He said,I nodded again
"I am in sixth grade,am preparing to take A LEVELS, I'm hoping to go to college soon, Royal college of physicians to be precise" He said
"That's nice." I said
"Very nice." He replied
He looked at the Stars in the sky and mumbled
"The Stars are looking wonderful tonight." He said
"Probably because am having a pretty girl behind me." He said smiling
I almost blushed,
But I didn't
"Stars remind me of my sister, gosh I miss her so much,I can't wait to see her tomorrow in school." He said yawning.
I smiled,but he didn't see me,
His gaze were on the Stars

"How old is she.?" I asked
"She's 16, very pretty and lively girl,I'd love you to meet her,I just hope you pick my school
It's up to you though
You'd be asked to choose a school your wanna go, when I was new I did that too,I picked my choice of school." He said
"Okay...." I replied.
"I think we should go to bed now, tommorow is gonna be a great day" He said getting up.
"Yeah sure" I replied I stood up too.
"Let's go in." He said
"Yeah." I replied
"After you my lady." He gestured
We walked back into the institution.

I got to my room and slipped into my night gown and layed on the bed smiling to no one in particular.
I asked myself despairingly
"What's going on with me?."
I went to a reading table and put on the reading light.
I brought out a book and I started reading.
The book was so boring
I stood up and walked back to my bed.

I wanted to sleep
I just hope I could
I just wished nothing bothers me tonight and let me sleep.
I blinked my eyes severally.
Smiling, dreaming,my hair tangled accross my pillow as I drifted off to sleep.

🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Dawn arrived at the same time an imperative summons from an alarm clock
Eyes still half closed,I tumbled out of bed
"It's Monday,I can't wait to get to school" I muttered.
I walked along the passage into my bathroom.
I cleaned my teeth,took my bath

Wearing a neat preppy skirt,my tucked in blouse and my hair in that high ponytail
I looked at myself in the mirror smiling as I thought of meeting Jay again
"Stop that pervert" a voice rang in my head.
I looked through a rack of shoes, making a choice and therefore decided to put on a black boots.

I walked out of my room
Holding my sunglasses in hand
I saw Miss Charlotte
"Good morning" I said
"Good morning Jay I hope you had a nice time with your dad yesterday?"
I nodded
"You're ready for school? That's nice you're making me proud Jay" She said
I smiled
"Meet me downstairs,let me get your bag and your gadgets for today" she said "And your sun glasses?." She asked
"Right here ma'am." I said waving it at her.
"Good meet me downstairs." She said and walked away.
I smiled I was feeling excited

I got to the stairs
I saw Jay
Wow
He looked so cute in his oufit.
He walked to me
", Good morning." He said
"Good morning." I replied
"I just hope you pick my school,I want to be seeing more of you." He said
I smiled,this time
A big smile,I could feel his gaze on me
"Oh my God, you're beautiful." He said to me..
I blushed.
What he said did strange things to the pit of my stomach.
So strange that I tripped as I was going through the stairs and might have even fallen if Jay hand not caught me.
My breath stopped in my throat.
For one glorious moment
I felt his strong hands on my shoulders,and then put me back on my feet and said curtly
"Be careful"
I blushed☺️🥰
