"Help her"

The screams of a woman could be heard around the walls of the hospital that they rushed an almost lifeless body in.

That was the body of a young lady who just wanted to live a happy life.

Her body was covered in blood as her face couldn't even be recognized, she struggled to breathe, she struggled to raise just a finger to her mom but what was the point, she was the main cause of all this.

"Ma'am you'll have to stay outside" The doctors tell her as they rush her to the ICU.

Despite her mother's protests she couldn't get in, she sits on the cold steel hospital chairs and cries.

"Mom you don't have to worry, Zee has always been a fighter, I mean that's what got her in this mess in the first place" Alexa, Zee's elder sister tells her mom with amusement dripping on every word.

Her mom of course ignored her ungrateful yet successful daughter and just kept praying.

******A DAY EARLIER.

"You're getting married" Xavier, Zee's elder brother tells Zee, breaking the intense silence that filled the dining room.

"What!?" Zee exclaims, almost choking on her food, it wasn't really her favourite anyways.

"Yes, you're getting married, that's the only way to help your life" Alexa says sipping on her glass of wine with a hidden smirk on her face as she sees the priceless expression of shock on her sister's face.

"No, that's not the only way to help my life, my life has never even been better" Zee says but everyone knew she was lying, her life was a perfect example of the word 'MISERABLE'

Got in trouble with loan sharks multiple times, never made . debut in music and as an author, disconnected from her family, now doing menial jobs just to make a living, all in the name of being independent.

"Zee, we have your best interest at heart-

"No you liars just want to marry me off to some rich guy so Alexa's company is gonna have a new investor"

"See that does everybody good, it helps you and us, so deal with it" Alexa says sternly.

Alexa was a sorceress according to Zee, though when they were younger, Alexa was in Zee's shoes, Zee was showered with love and care, the perfect child, the successor of her father but who knew life was going to take a nasty turn for Zee and remain that way.

Now, all she was, was a burden to them
She wasn't useful
She was draining
A load on the BLAKELEY'S

Alexa managed to twist their minds using Zee's first failure to her advantage, she was now the queen of the BLAKELEY'S'S, she was playing everybody like a puppet and that was the main reason Zee left.

"I'm not gonna get married"

"Okay fine you're not getting married" Xavier tells Zee calmly and Zee was almost relived not until..

"We're selling you out" Xavier completes his sentence and Zee burns with anger, while Alexa just laughs like the whole situation was funny.

"Mom are you in on this?" Zee asks her mom and her mom sighs, trying to take Zee's hand from across the dining table.

She recoils.

"Zee, look at you, you're not living your best life, you said you left to chase your dreams but are your dreams running away from loan sharks and doing these......these....jobs?" Her mom tells her, saying the word "JOBS" with disgust on her face.

"Mom, I don't want to get married you're the only one who can stop them" Zee begs her mom.

"Zee its for your own good" Her dad who was almost invisible finally speaks up and Zee looks at him with disgust.

"Mom, please" Zee begs and her mom just avoids her gaze.

"Xavier take her to her room, she is to be sold tomorrow, as you'd put it" Alexa says, Xavier and her laughing like hyenas.

Xavier stands up dragging Zees chair out of the dining table, Zee made to run away but she was just too slow as Xavier picks her up and puts her over his shoulders.

"NO, LET ME GO" Zee cries hitting the back of her elder brother.

"You know if you came home and eaten better, you wouldn't have been so light to pick up" Alexa says her and her dad chuckling.

"Mom please" Zee says, her voice fading as Xavier proceeds up the stairs
