May Allah accept our good deeds this month of Ramadan and bless us with abundant rewards. Let us do our best to ensure we do not invalidate our charities and deeds this month by being too verbal about them or showing off.


Whatever we do should be for the sake of Allah and Allah alone. The best your fellow humans can do is praise you and hail you for being generous, but the reward stops there. If you focus exclusively on the pleasure of Allah as opposed to pleasing humanity, He will bless you with infinite rewards.


May Allah help us maximize these last hours of Ramadan, guide us to the best of deeds, and keep us away from activities that could compromise our deeds this month. Ameen.

It is narrated from the Prophet (SAW), that Allah says, "My servant draws not near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I shall love him.

"When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it."

May Allah fill our lives with ease and abundance. Ameen.

Some of us hear "spend" and take to the hills because we think, "How can I spend when I am neck-deep in expenses already... The country is hard!"

Relax.

Allah does not burden a soul with more than it can bear. Spending in the way of Allah need not be financial.

This weekend, spend in the way of Allah by dedicating quality time to your wife and kids. Spend in the way of Allah by listening to a friend in need and helping them with well-thought-out solutions to their predicament. Spend in the way of Allah by visiting the sick and helping in any way you can.

Spend of what you have, be it time, knowledge, empathy, or even a smile. Allah does not demand more than that.

After a long week of working hard to earn a living, the weekend provides us with time to relax and relate with family and friends.

Undoubtedly, it is very important to maintain a balance between work and our personal lives. However, the weekend also presents an opportunity for us to strengthen our bonds with Allah.

As we go into the weekend, we must not forget to factor Allah and our deen into our plans and labour hard for the akhirah.

May Allah make it easy for us.

The believer’s gratitude in times of ease and hardship lead to a bounty of favors. Asides from mental and emotional stability that results from counting one’s blessings, gratitude, especially in times of hardship, presents us with an opportunity to reconnect with Allah and reinforce our relationship with Him.

What favor could be better than a stronger relationship with Allah?

“He is with you, where you may be; and Allah is seeing your deeds." – Q 57:3

Are you aware that Allah sees and knows everything you are doing, good or bad? Are you aware that Allah sees your deeds hidden thoughts and your heart? As Muslims, we must always bear in mind that Allah is ever-watchful of us, and so we must lead our lives on the basis of His names: Ar-Raqeeb (the Watchful), Al-Hafeez (the Preserver), Al-‘Aleem (the All-Knowing), As-Samee‘ (the All-Hearing), and Al-Baseer (the All-Seeing).

Who is your neighbor? Your neighbor is anyone you interact with regularly over a period of time. Even if all you do is say Salaam to each other.

On seeing this post, you might have thought to yourself, "But I don't have so much money, so how can I be generous?"

Generosity in Islam, goes beyond financial assistance. The listening ear that you give to your brother who is going through dire straits could be more valuable in the eyes of Allah than a $1million donation.

Do whatever you can to be of help and benefit to your neighbors. Be generous!
