GM NTDA FELICITATES NIGERIAN WORKERS ON MAY DAY CELEBRATION.
The General Manager, New Towns Development Authority (NTDA), Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji, joins the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) in commemorating the 2026 Workers’ Day Celebration, themed “Insecurity and Poverty: Bane of Decent Work,” held today at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
Staff of the Authority participated actively in grand style, demonstrating solidarity with Nigerian workers while reaffirming their commitment to productivity, efficient service delivery, and national development.
The event was graced by the Governor of Lagos State, ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat. Also in attendance were the Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, and members of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE), NTDA Branch, led by its Chairman, Comrade Tpl. Olalekan Yussuf.
Aboyeji commends the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of Nigerian workers and reiterates its commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that promote decent work, improved welfare, and a safe and conducive working environment for all.

*MINISTRY OF INNOVATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SENSITIZES NTDA MANAGEMENT ON NIGERIA DATA PROTECTION ACT (NDPA)*
The New Towns Development Authority (NTDA) received officials from the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, led by Mr. Kehinde Ibrahim, Head of Data Privacy & Enterprise Architecture Unit, on a sensitization programme aimed at enlightening the Authority’s Management on the provisions and importance of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).
The session provided valuable insights into data privacy, protection principles, and compliance requirements under the NDPA, reinforcing the need for responsible data handling within the Authority.
In attendance were the General Manager, New Towns Development Authority, Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji; the Secretary and Head of Administrative and Human Resources Department, Mrs. Noibi Titilayo; as well as other Management members.

NTDA HOSTS ATOPCON ON COURTESY VISIT.
The New Towns Development Authority (NTDA) today received the Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (ATOPCON) on a courtesy visit to the Authority.
The General Manager, New Towns Development Authority (NTDA), Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji, welcomed the delegation and outlined the Authority’s core mandates, which include the establishment of new towns and development of schemes, provision of infrastructure in government estates, promotion of large-scale physical development, development control, monitoring of unauthorized developments within government schemes, as well as the review of schemes and private developers’ initiatives. He also highlighted key challenges encountered in the discharge of these responsibilities.
The General Manager further addressed issues relating to the review of the law establishing the Authority, performance metrics, and human capacity development, noting that these are critical to enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Tpl. Aboyeji emphasized the existing collaboration between NTDA and town planning consultants, particularly in areas such as the review of government schemes, inventory of schemes, and large-scale development planning. He reiterated the importance of sustained synergy between the Authority and ATOPCON, noting that such partnership would significantly boost productivity and contribute to the overall growth and development of Lagos State.
In his remarks, the President of ATOPCON, Tpl. Hakeem Olatunji Badejo, FNITP, stated that the purpose of the visit was to gain deeper insight into the Authority’s operations, including the number of new towns developed, its contributions to the Lagos Mega City project, urban development, and the role of town planners in shaping new towns and schemes.
He added that the visit also aimed at identifying areas for collaboration, understanding the challenges faced by the Authority, and exploring ways ATOPCON could support in addressing these challenges to enhance the delivery of livable and sustainable urban environments.
Tpl. Badejo commended the General Manager, Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji, for the Authority’s overall performance.
Also speaking, the Secretary/Head of Administrative and Human Resources Department, NTDA, Mrs. Noibi Titilayo, expressed appreciation to the delegation for the visit.
The Head of Planning Unit, Mrs. Adesola Okeowo, delivered the vote of thanks, commending the ATOPCON President and his team for their cooperation and commitment to advancing the development of Lagos State and the Authority.

NTDA Organizes Maiden Health Sensitization Programme for 2026.
The New Towns Development Authority (NTDA) organized its maiden Health Sensitization Programme for the year 2026, focusing on the theme: “Understanding Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Causes, Symptoms and Prevention.”
The Management and members of staff gathered for an insightful and educative health talk aimed at raising awareness on hypertension and its associated risks.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Olorunfemi Oluwaseun and Nurse Ofarie Charity, who provided comprehensive guidance on the growing threat of hypertension, its causes, symptoms, and preventive measures.
Participants were enlightened on the importance of maintaining a healthy diet, adopting positive lifestyle changes, and cultivating the habit of regular health checks.
The programme underscored the need for increased awareness, routine medical check-ups, and proactive health management in reducing the risk of hypertension-related complications among staff.

*NTDA HOSTS PMO ON WORKING VISIT TOWARDS ENHANCED SERVICE DELIVERY.*
The New Towns Development Authority (NTDA) today hosted the Special Adviser, Parastatal Monitoring Office (PMO), Hon. Ibrahim Obanikoro; the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olugbemiga Aina; alongside members of the PMO management team, on a working visit and on the spot assessment of the Authority.
In his welcome address, the General Manager, NTDA, Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji, provided an overview of the Authority’s activities. These include, review of schemes ( but are not limited to) site and services Scheme, monitoring of schemes, clearing of encroachments, and site selection for both government and private developers’ scheme initiatives. He also highlighted key challenges encountered in the course of duty.
The General Manager further elaborated on issues relating to the review of the law establishing the Authority, overall performance metrics, and human capacity development, all of which are critical to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Authority.
He emphasized the need for strengthened synergy and collaboration between government agencies, noting that such cooperation would significantly improve productivity and contribute to the overall growth and development of Lagos State.
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser, Parastatal Monitoring Office (PMO), Hon. Ibrahim Obanikoro, stated that the visit was aimed at evaluating and conducting a comprehensive assessment of the Authority’s overall performance, as well as its compliance with established standard operating procedures for government agencies and parastatals.
He reiterated that the development of Lagos State remains a top priority for the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. He described the relationship between the PMO and NTDA as a partnership for progress, assuring the Authority of continuous support to enable it achieve its full potential.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, PMO, Dr. Olugbemiga Aina, stressed the importance of succession planning and inter-agency collaboration to ensure a seamless and efficient system. He also noted that the enabling law establishing the Authority would be reviewed to enhance optimal performance.
He commended the General Manager and his team for the Private Developers’ Scheme Initiative, which has opened up several areas across Lagos State, particularly in the Epe axis, thereby contributing significantly to the State’s development agenda.
In her closing remarks, the Secretary/Head, Administrative and Human Resources Department, NTDA, Mrs. Noibi Titilayo, expressed appreciation to the Special Adviser, Permanent Secretary, and the PMO team for their cooperation and collaborative efforts in advancing the development of Lagos State and the Authority.
