*RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*RECOGNIZE CHRIST IN YOU .*

Tuesday, June 9th .
Pastor Chris

_*I pray that Christ may make His home in your hearts through your faith; so that having your roots deep and your foundations strong, in love, you may become mighty to grasp the idea (Ephesians 3:17 WNT).*_

As a result of ignorance of the Word, some Christians sing certain songs that aren’t consistent with the New Testament. For example, some would sing, “Holy Spirit, fall afresh on me.” That doesn’t make any sense, because the Holy Spirit lives in you. He’s not in heaven; so, where is He going to “fall” from?

They could sing such a song and get so emotional and cry, thinking they’re getting blessed. But the truth is, they’re not really getting blessed; rather, such songs create a certain kind of unbelief that’s difficult to cure, resulting in their faith getting weaker and more and more ineffective.

How could a Christian be asking the Holy Spirit to fall afresh on him when the Holy Spirit is with us and in us forever? Jesus said, _*“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever”*_ (John 14:16). Since the Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost, He hasn’t gone back, and He’ll never leave us. It’s a painful thing in the body of Christ, to see God’s children in search of what they already have.

This isn’t unconnected with the reason for the Apostle Paul’s prayer in our theme verse: “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith….” “Wasn’t Christ already dwelling in their hearts?” you may wonder. Yes, you’d notice he didn’t say, “Our hearts”; he was praying for the spiritually immature in Christ.

That’s how we pray for young converts, because they haven’t recognized the indwelling Christ. Sadly, many, including those who have been Christians for a long time, still require this prayer today because they haven’t recognized the indwelling Christ. They’re still in search of what’s right inside them. They want something to come from Heaven; yet, everything they could ever ask for has been granted them (2 Peter 1:3). Colossians 1:27 says, _*“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”*_ Recognize Him in you. Hallelujah!

*CONFESSION*

*Christ is alive in me, because He has settled and made His home in my heart by faith; everything about Him is resident in my spirit. I’m living the supernatural life, naturally, because Christ is in me. I don’t walk in darkness about anything, because I’m conscious of His light in my heart, guiding me in the path of righteousness, to fulfil my destiny in Him. Hallelujah!*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Ephesians 3:17-19 AMPC* May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, 18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; 19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, [a]through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses [b]mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] [c]unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and [d]become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! *||*

*||* *Colossians 1:26-27* [Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: *||*

*||* *2 Corinthians 6:16* And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. *||*

*ALWAYS BEING TRANSFIGURED .*

Tuesday, May 28th .
Pastor Chris

_*And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering (Luke 9:29).*_

Following the experience of Jesus as He prayed at the Mount of Transfiguration, there’re those who think they’d always have to go to that particular mountain to get transfigured. But no; it was just a mountain.

Evidently, Jesus was often transfigured as He prayed, but the account in Luke 9 was one occasion that the disciples had the opportunity to be present and see Him transfigured before them. God opened their eyes on that occasion to see what was happening with Jesus—the resplendent glory that effused from Him. If their eyes hadn’t been opened, they wouldn’t have seen the transfiguration. It was spiritual, for they saw Elijah and Moses as well, who disappeared as the vision faded.

Now, what happened to Jesus at the Mount of Transfiguration happens to us most of the time as we pray in the Holy Ghost; we’re transfigured; we literally glow from inside out. It’s something spiritual; that’s why those around you may not see or notice anything, except the Lord opens their eyes, like He did the disciples.

The glory of God is in your spirit; your spirit is glorified with Christ. That glory radiates from within and permeates everything around you when you pray, when you study, and when you meditate on God’s Word.

Remember the testimony of Stephen in Acts 6:15, when he was arrested and brought before the council. The Bible says his face looked to them like that of an angel. They didn’t always see Stephen’s face aglow like that every day, and everywhere he went. The people’s eyes were suddenly opened to see the glory on his face at that particular moment.

A similar occurrence took place when Jesus appeared to two of His disciples, after His resurrection. He walked with them a long distance, and even followed them home, yet they didn’t recognise Him. But as He partook of the Communion with them, their eyes were opened, and they recognised Him, but he promptly vanished from their sight (Luke 24:16-31).

Others may not see the glory all over you. Their eyes may not be opened to see it on your face, but one thing is sure: the glory of God is on you, and in your spirit! You’re constantly transfigured from glory to glory as you fellowship the Spirit; it’s one of the many glorious benefits of prayer.

*CONFESSION*

*I’m constantly transfigured, being filled with the Spirit. As I speak in tongues, there’s an unleashing of the supernatural and all-round transformation in my spirit, soul, and body. My spirit gains the ascendancy and power over anything that’s of the world, and I rise higher and higher like an edifice, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *1 Corinthians 14:2* For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. *||*

*||* *2 Corinthians 3:18* But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord. *||*

*STRONG AND TOUGH IN THE HOLY GHOST .*

Tuesday, February 5th .
Pastor Chris

_*…none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24).*_

Like the Apostle Paul, it makes no difference the adversities we face; we stand strong and tough in the Holy Ghost! We affirm, “None of these things move me.” Hallelujah!

Occasionally, your commitment to Christ and convictions about the Gospel will be tested; as someone who lives by God’s Word, you’ll surely be persecuted. But be of good cheer, because greater is He that’s in you than all your adversaries and persecutors put together. They may come out against you one way, but they’ll flee before you seven ways.

Never be bothered about the tests and trials that come your way; the Lord allows them because He knows the stuff you’re made of. You’re more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37); you always win. You reign and rule in union with Christ; nothing can put you down. The fiercer the challenges you face, the greater your victories and testimonies. That’s why James, in his epistle, admonished, _*“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations”*_ (James 1:2).

The reason the Lord would ask you to rejoice when all hell seems to be breaking loose is that He knows you’re a victor. No situation that you face has the power to overwhelm you. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says, _*“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed”*_; why? The answer is in the preceding verse 7; _*“…we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”*_

The power in you to always win, to consistently triumph, make progress, rise like an edifice—towering far above and beyond the adversities and persecutions that come your way, is of God! Therefore, never cower, give in or faint under any pressure whatsoever. Remain strong and tough, for you’re born to reign, rule and win. Blessed be God!

*CONFESSION*

*I’m born of God; therefore, I’ve overcome the world and its failing systems. Irrespective of raging opposition, I win; I triumph gloriously by the power of the Holy Ghost that’s at work in me mightily. I’m more than a conqueror; convinced of my eternal victory over Satan, advancing in life from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Romans 8:36-39* As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. *||*

*||* *James 1:2-4* My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. *||*
