The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos (Anglican Communion), The Rt. Revd. Dr. Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi, has called on Nigerians to embrace vigilance, moral responsibility and integrity in leadership as the nation steps into the New Year 2026.

In his New Year message released from the Diocesan Palace, Marina, Lagos, Bishop Okupevi charged citizens to take collective responsibility for the peace, security and progress of the country, stressing that national safety must not be left to government alone. He urged Nigerians to be alert in their communities, declaring that “security is everyone’s concern” and encouraging a culture of speaking up when dangers are observed.
