OLGE&T DEEPENS DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, TRAINS ICT OFFICERS
The Lagos State Office of Local Government Establishments and Training (OLGE&T) has commenced a two-day capacity-building workshop for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Officers, Grade Level 10–14, as part of efforts to strengthen digital transformation across the Unified Local Government Service.
The training, holding from 31st August to 1st September 2026 at the OLGE&T Training Hall, is designed to equip ICT Officers with the knowledge and skills required to drive innovation, efficiency and improved service delivery at the grassroots.
Speaking at the opening session, the Permanent Secretary, OLGE&T, Ms. Toyin Ogunlana, described ICT Officers as critical enablers of modern public administration, urging them to see themselves not merely as technical personnel but as problem-solvers and development partners.
She emphasised the importance of continuously upgrading their technical knowledge and embracing emerging technologies to make government processes faster, simpler, safer and more effective across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State.
The Permanent Secretary noted that the initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s human capital development efforts under the THEMES+ Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and reinforces the commitment to ensuring that no cadre is left behind in the digital transformation of the public service.
