LAGOS APC HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES PRESENTED TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU AS PARTY GEARS UP FOR 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS

In a significant gathering that underscores the strength, unity, and readiness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 General Elections, all forty (40) flag bearers of the party for the Lagos State House of Assembly were formally presented to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Saturday, 30th May 2026.

The strategic meeting, held in the presence of key leaders and stakeholders of the party, provided an opportunity for the candidates to receive direct guidance, encouragement, and direction from the National Leader of the APC and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Among the distinguished personalities in attendance were the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat; the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the Lagos State APC Primary Elections, Mr. Mutiu Aare; the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; the Lagos State APC Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi; Mr. Seyi Tinubu; and all forty APC candidates contesting for seats in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Addressing the gathering, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commended the leadership of the Lagos State chapter of the APC for conducting a successful and credible primary election process that produced candidates capable of representing the aspirations of the people across the state. The President charged all candidates to remain committed to grassroots mobilization, voter engagement, and party loyalty as preparations intensify for the forthcoming general elections.

In his remarks, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, hard work, and service to the people, while setting an ambitious but achievable target for the party. He urged all party candidates and stakeholders to work assiduously towards delivering a minimum of twenty-nine million (29 million) votes for the APC, stressing that electoral success would require collective commitment, strategic engagement, and continuous connection with the grassroots.

The President further reminded the candidates that public office is a call to service and that elected representatives must always prioritize the welfare, aspirations, and development of their constituents. He encouraged the candidates to sustain meaningful engagement with their communities, uphold the values of the APC, and serve as worthy ambassadors of the party.

Speaking after the meeting, Barr. Barakat Odunuga Bakare, APC Candidate for Surulere Constituency I, described the engagement as highly inspiring, impactful, and motivating. She noted that the opportunity to receive direct counsel from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party leaders further strengthened her resolve to continue working diligently for the advancement of Surulere Constituency I and Lagos State at large.

Barr. Barakat Odunuga Bakare expressed gratitude to the leadership of the APC for the confidence reposed in all the candidates and reaffirmed her commitment to promoting good governance, inclusive representation, youth empowerment, women participation, community development, and legislative excellence.

She also reiterated her dedication to mobilizing support for the APC across Surulere Constituency I while working closely with party leaders, members, and supporters to ensure overwhelming victories for all APC candidates in future elections.

The gathering further demonstrated the enduring strength of the APC political structure in Lagos State and reflected the collective determination of party leaders and candidates to consolidate on the achievements of the party while delivering greater dividends of democracy to the people.

As the journey towards the 2027 General Elections progresses, the APC remains focused on strengthening its grassroots presence, expanding its support base, and advancing policies and programs that promote sustainable development, economic growth, social inclusion, and improved quality of life for all Nigerians.

As we mark this year’s Children’s Day, let us continue to pray for the protection of every child across our nation. We especially remember the school children who have been taken away from their families by evil doers. May God grant them safety, comfort their loved ones, and bring them back home unharmed.

Eid al-Adha is a sacred season that reminds us of the timeless virtues of faith, sacrifice, obedience, love, compassion, and selflessness—values exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose unwavering devotion continues to inspire humanity.

As we commemorate this important festival, let us reflect deeply on the true essence of sacrifice—not only in our personal lives but also in our collective responsibility towards building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Surulere. Landslide Victory Cannot Be Rewritten With Sympathy

Seeking public sympathy emotionally cannot erase facts, truth, or the reality witnessed by people both physically and across social media platforms.

You claimed to have been disenfranchised through intimidation and threats from your opponent’s camp in Akinhanmi Cole Ward E/E1, Surulere constituency 1, yet several evidences and eyewitness accounts clearly showed that the primary process was conducted openly, with people counted transparently on a straight line. Why then come out with a different narrative filled with blame games and unnecessary attempts to drag innocent individuals into your political failure?

The rightful APC candidate recorded a landslide victory peacefully, without rancour, intimidation, or violence — contrary to the fears and predictions of many. Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has consistently demonstrated leadership and political maturity by guiding his political family in ways that prevent pre-election, election, and post-election violence.

What we are witnessing now is nothing but political melodrama — one that would almost be amusing if it were not so unfortunate.

Rather than rejecting reality, it is better to accept defeat with dignity and return home. Surulere has no political orphanage, and Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has created enough opportunities for loyalty, growth, and inclusion within the political family — except for those who deliberately choose isolation.

Without apology or regret, we remain proud members of the Gbajabiamila political dynasty.
