As Head, Contact and Mobilization Subcommittee: Tertiary Education of the Lagos State APC PBAT/KOH Campaign Council, I convened an inaugural meeting, setting the tone for a coordinated, purposeful and impactful engagement with the tertiary education community.

With distinguished figures from the academic community, student leadership and other key stakeholders in tertiary education forming a strong and representative assemblage, I presented appointment letters to members of the committee, signalling the commencement of our collective responsibility and the work ahead.

Building on the transformative programmes and policies of this administration in the tertiary education sector, our task is clear: to deepen engagement, strengthen collaboration and ensure that the aspirations and realities of our institutions, students and the wider education community remain at the heart of our work.

Our mandate is anchored on engagement, our resolve is strengthened by collaboration, and our collective responsibility is to advance the Council’s campaign objectives as we work towards a successful outing for our party at the polls.

Honored to join Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, colleagues in the State Executive Council and other distinguished stakeholders at the official commissioning of the newly built Ultra-Modern Hostel Annex at the Lagos State College of Nursing (LASCON), Igando. More than a building, this facility is a strategic investment in the welfare, security and academic success of our student nurses, and ultimately, in the future of healthcare delivery in Lagos State.

With the capacity to accommodate over 250 students, this facility features modern training spaces, solar power infrastructure and 24-hour CCTV surveillance, providing a safer, more conducive and technology-enabled residential environment. This milestone is also part of the broader infrastructure transformation across our state-owned tertiary institutions, reaffirming the Sanwo-Olu-led administration’s conviction that world-class education requires world-class infrastructure.

For us at the Ministry of Tertiary Education, student welfare remains integral to educational excellence, and we remain unwavering in our commitment to strengthening tertiary education infrastructure, improving student welfare, expanding opportunities and building institutions capable of delivering excellence at scale. As an administration, we are not merely building facilities; we are building the human capital and institutions that will power the Lagos of tomorrow.

"Policies that nourish, educate and protect today's children are the surest investments in tomorrow's prosperity, stability and national greatness."

I represented His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, at the official flag-off of the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, implemented in partnership with the Lagos State Government and Conference 57, at St. Thomas Primary School, Badagry, under the theme "Adopt a School - Snacks for Thought (PBAT FEEDS)."

This laudable initiative is a vital social investment designed to improve the health, nutrition and educational outcomes of primary school pupils across Nigeria. It is an intervention under the Renewed Hope Agenda of our President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, founded on the understanding that proper nutrition is fundamental to healthy child development, improved concentration, better classroom performance and lifelong productivity.

By providing one nutritious meal daily to pupils in public primary schools, the programme seeks not only to combat hunger and malnutrition but also to improve school enrolment, attendance, retention and learning outcomes, while supporting local agriculture and stimulating community-based economic growth.

As this initiative takes root, we call on well-meaning Nigerians, the private sector, corporate organisations, development partners, philanthropists, faith-based institutions and other stakeholders to partner with government by adopting schools, classrooms or pupils according to their capacity. Collective responsibility remains one of the most powerful tools for nation-building.

Together, we can ensure that no child is denied the opportunity to learn because of hunger. Together, we can nurture a healthier, better educated and more productive generation, one that will become worthy ambassadors and architects of the Nigeria of our dreams.

The future of every nation begins with the child we choose to invest in today.

A HEART FULL OF GRATITUDE

Yesterday, I celebrated another year of life. Today, I celebrate the incredible people who made it unforgettable.

I am deeply humbled and sincerely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, goodwill messages, and kind gestures I received on the occasion of my birthday yesterday.

From family, friends, colleagues, associates, leaders, stakeholders, and well-wishers across Lagos State and beyond, your expressions of affection made the day truly special and memorable. Every call, message, gift, visit, post, and prayer was received with immense gratitude.

I heartily congratulate Hon. Bode Makinde on his well-deserved appointment as a Member of the Governing Board of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), popularly known as the Neighbourhood Watch.

This appointment is a clear testament to his dedication, capacity, and unwavering commitment to public service.
