EGBE-IDIMU LCDA HOLDS MAY MONTHLY PRAYER SESSION AND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
The Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) held its May Monthly Prayer Session at the Council’s Multipurpose Hall, Foke, with the presence of management and staff.
The session served as an opportunity to seek divine guidance, offer thanksgiving, and commit the Council’s activities for the month into God’s hands.
The Council Manager (CM), Mrs. Orebela Abiola Adedoyin, conveyed the Chairman’s regards and heartfelt best wishes to all staff, while also reiterating the importance of discipline in the workplace.
During the programme, the HRO; Mrs. Olowosoyo Victoria emphasized on punctuality, discipline, career progression, and the importance of taking the ongoing verification exercise seriously.
In his remarks, the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Olanrewaju Lasisi, appreciated staff who participated in the May Day celebration, describing it as an avenue to recognize and encourage their resilience and dedication to the service of Egbe-Idimu LCDA and Lagos State at large. He also informed staff that souvenirs are available for collection as a token of appreciation.
As part of the programme, a health talk was delivered by Mrs. Arogundade Adenuga, who sensitized staff on the dangers of drug misuse, particularly the overuse of medications such as paracetamol, and advised on the need for caution in drug consumption.
The event also featured a birthday celebration for staff born in the month of May. Celebrants were invited forward for cake cutting and photographs, adding a joyful highlight to the gathering.

APRIL MONTHLY PRAYER SESSION, HEALTH SENSITIZATION ON LASSA FEVER, AND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION HELD AT EGBE-IDIMU LCDA
The Egbe-Idimu LCDA held its April Monthly Prayer Session at the Council’s Multipurpose Hall, with the attendance of management and staff. The session provided an avenue to seek divine guidance, offer thanksgiving, and commit the activities of the Council into God’s hands for the month.
As part of the programme, a health talk was delivered by Mrs.Arogundade Adenuga, who educated staff on the outbreak of Lassa fever. She emphasized the seriousness of the disease, its mode of transmission through rodents, and the need for preventive measures such as proper sanitation, food safety, and environmental cleanliness to curb its spread.
The session also featured prayers for the continued growth and development of the LCDA, as well as for the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, and all members of staff in their various capacities.
In celebration of staff born in the month of April, the event included a brief birthday ceremony. The celebrants were invited forward for cake cutting and photographs, adding a joyful and memorable highlight to the gathering.

LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2026
Theme: Rights. Justice. Action for All Women and Girls
The First Lady of Lagos State, Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, hosted a grand celebration of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The event took place at Onikan Stadium and was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from all 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across Lagos State.
This year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action for All Women and Girls,” underscores the urgent need to uphold fundamental human rights, ensure fairness and equity, and take deliberate, impactful steps toward empowering women and girls everywhere.
In commemoration of the 2026 International Women’s Day, Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area joined the global community in celebrating the resilience, achievements, and invaluable contributions of women and girls across all spheres of life.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, acknowledged the strength, resilience, and determination of women who continue to break barriers in leadership, education, entrepreneurship, governance, and community development. He emphasized that their achievements inspire hope and reinforce the need to create an enabling environment where every woman and girl can thrive without fear or limitation.
This year’s campaign hashtag, , further highlights the importance of collective responsibility. By investing time, resources, and support into the growth and well-being of women and girls, society stands to benefit through sustainable development, economic advancement, and social harmony.

EGBE-IDIMU LCDA STRENGTHENS GOVERNANCE AS HON. PRINCE IDRIS BALOGUN SWEARS IN NEW SUPERVISORS AND SPECIAL ADVISERS INTO COUNCIL CABINET
The Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, today, March 17, 2026, officially swore in the newly appointed Supervisors and Special Advisers into the Council Cabinet, marking a significant step towards strengthening governance and enhancing grassroots administration.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat, was attended by top dignitaries, political stakeholders, party leaders, and well-wishers. In his address, the Council Chairman congratulated the appointees and charged them to regard their appointments as a call to service. He emphasized the importance of dedication, transparency, and accountability in the discharge of their duties, urging them to align their efforts with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” for the overall development of the council.
The newly sworn-in Supervisors and Special Advisers took their oath of office and allegiance, pledging to uphold the Constitution, serve diligently, and contribute meaningfully to the growth and progress of the Council.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the Council Manager, Mrs. Orebela Abiola A., expressed appreciation to all attendees for their presence and support. This was followed by the official signing of the cabinet register by the Executive Chairman and a group photograph session to commemorate the occasion.

UNIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT MUSLIM STAFF ASSOCIATION, EGBE-IDIMU BRANCH HOLDS 2026 RAMADAN LECTURE
The Unified Local Government Muslim Staff Association, Egbe-Idimu Branch, Lagos State, held its 2026 Annual Ramadan Lecture, bringing together political leaders, management staff and workers of the council for spiritual reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.
The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Musa Muritadoh Abolaji on the theme “Be Muslim Enough” with the topic “Sharia in the Life of Muslims: Meaning, Success and Adaptability Across Cultures.” He explained that Sharia represents divine guidance from the Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), serving as a framework that guides Muslims in worship, conduct, justice and social relationships.
He emphasized that the strength of Sharia lies in promoting discipline, fairness, compassion and accountability, noting that its principles remain relevant and adaptable across different cultures.
The Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, represented by the Vice Chairman Hon. Tayo Ayinde, commended the Muslim Staff Association for organising the programme and noted that such gatherings strengthen moral values, unity and peaceful coexistence among staff.
Goodwill messages were also delivered by the Council Manager Mrs. Orebela Abiola, who encouraged staff to use Ramadan for reflection, discipline and service to humanity.
Dignitaries present included the Vice Chairman Hon. Tayo Ayinde, Leader of the House Hon. Hassan Kehinde Hassan, Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Semiu Ayinla, Chief of Staff Hon. Lukmon Ishola Idowu, management staff and members of staff of the council.
The programme concluded with prayers for peace, progress and continued development of the council and the nation.

EGBE-IDIMU LCDA SWEARS IN NEW SECRETARY TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area today witnessed the official swearing-in of the newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Semiu Ayinla Oluwatoyin, in a ceremony held at the Council Secretariat’s Conference Hall.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by the Council’s Legal Officer, Barrister Mariam Jimoh, who administered the oath of office and allegiance in accordance with the provisions guiding local government administration.
In his address, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, congratulated Hon. Semiu Ayinla Oluwatoyin on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the progress of the council. He urged him to work closely with all stakeholders to promote unity, uphold the core values and mission of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, and support initiatives that will drive sustainable development and improve the welfare of residents.
The occasion marked an important step in strengthening the administrative structure of the Council as Hon. Semiu Ayinla Oluwatoyin officially begins his duties as Secretary to the Local Government. Egbe-Idimu LCDA congratulates the new SLG and wishes him a successful tenure in service to the people and development of the council area.

The programme is aimed at equipping the officers with the necessary knowledge, values, and orientation required for effective and efficient public service.

EGBE-IDIMU LCDA ORGANISES INDUCTION COURSE AND TRAINING FOR NEWLY RECRUITED JUNIOR STAFF.
Egbe-Idimu local council development Area (LCDA) has successfully organized an induction course training for it’s newly recruited Junior staff as part of efforts to strengthen the LCDA to promote effective service delivery.
The Induction Course Training for newly recruited junior staff was held on Wednesday, 4th March, 2026, at the Foke Multipurpose Hall, Idimu. The training was organised to equip the officers with the necessary knowledge of the Public Service, instill the core values of the Council, and build a professional, disciplined, and result-oriented workforce.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, represented by the Council Manager, Mrs. Orebela Abiola Adedoyin, emphasized the importance of punctuality, attention to detail, and maintaining the right attitude towards work at all times. She encouraged the new staff to uphold excellence and demonstrate commitment in the discharge of their duties.
