PCC @ 50: LAGOS OFFICE JOINS HEADQUARTERS TO HOST GLOBAL OMBUDSMAN SUMMIT

The Honourable Commissioner Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Lagos State, Hon. Hafeez Adekunle Odunewu participated in the 2025 Global Ombudsman Summit and commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Commission.

The event was held at the Ladi Kwali Conference Center, Abuja Continental Hotel on Tuesday, 21st October, 2025.

With the theme: Effective Ombudsman Institution: Catalyst for Good Governance, it gathered leaders, policy makers, Ombudsman representatives from countries across the world, to set the pace for effective and efficient fight against administrative and social injustice.

*PCC @ 50: Lagos Office marks Anniversary with Sensitization Walk*

In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), the Lagos State Office embarked on a public sensitization.

The walk started from the Lagos Office with engagement and public enlightenment at the busy areas of Lagos Island and Obalende.

The walk was led by the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Hafeez Adekunle Odunewu and Director of Investigation, Mr. Wale Ayinde and other members of the management team.

Staff sensitized the members of the public in different languages such as Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Pidgin and English, ensuring no aspect of the public is left out.

The day climaxed with the cutting of the cake, marking the celebration of the golden jubilee.

PCC LAGOS PARTNERS NIGERIAN ARMY 81 DIVISION TO FOSTER ADMINISTRATIVE JUSTICE

As part of its mandate to foster transparency, administrative justice and inter-agency collaboration, the Honourable Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Lagos State, Hon. Hafeez Adekunle Odunewu paid a working visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division Nigerian Army, Lagos State, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa on Tuesday, 7th October, 2025.

Unveiling the purpose of his visit, Hon. Odunewu noted the visit was to seek for partnership with the Nigerian Army to enhance alternative dispute resolution and also deepened the Commission’s fight for justice.

He further introduced the Commission’s modus operandi, particularly it’s role in addressing complaints from the public free of charge.

Responding, the GOC, Major Gen Mijinyawa commended the visit, while eulogizing the dedication of the Commission in promoting accountability and peace, which also aligns with the responsibility of the Nigerian Army.

Major General Mijinyawa also made it known that the 81 Division have a readily available Civil-Military Affairs Department and Human Right Desk, which are open to interface with civilians and take complaints from officers serving under the Division as well as civilians.

The visit concluded with exchange of plaque and photograph session to mark the occasion, symbolizing goodwill and shared commitment towards justice and fairness.

PCC LAGOS VISITS LAGOS METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (LAMATA), SEEKS COLLABORATION TO ADDRESS COMMUTERS PLIGHT

With the aim of tackling the complaints concerning poor management of the public services transportation system in Lagos State, the Honorable Commissioner, Public Complaints commission, Lagos State, Hon. Hafeez Adekunle Odunewu paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (LAMATA).

Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Hafeez Adekunle Odunewu pointed out the major concerns centered on complaints received by the Commission on the unavailability of buses and the extended long hour waiting time on the queue experienced by commuters in various routes amongst others.

Responding to the Honourable Commissioner, the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (LAMATA), Engineer Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, who acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the Commission, unveiled the efforts of the authority in addressing some of the challenges highlighted.

She noted LAMATA is currently partnering with the private sectors to increase the number of buses in operation and is expecting a major increase to the public transport fleet with the delivery of 500 CNG buses and 50 electric vehicles by the last quarter of this year.

On the entourage of the Honourable Commissioner are the Director of Investigation, Mr. Ayinde Wale; Deputy Director of Investigation and Head of Investigation Department, Mrs Yemisi Akinluyi; Deputy Director of Investigation (Public), Mrs. Evelyn Uzor and other officers of the Commission.

PCC LAGOS HEIGHTENS FIGHT AGAINST INJUSTICE, COLLABORATES WITH THE NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE

The Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Lagos State has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting administrative and social injustice in the society and willingness

This was made known by the Honourable Commissioner, PCC Lagos during his courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, mini at his office in Onikan, Lagos on Tuesday, 21st January, 2025.

Unveiling the purpose of his visit, Hon. Odunewu noted the visit aims at deepening the Commission’s fight for justice and to seek a partnership to foster and enhance alternative dispute resolution in making our society safe, via enforcement from the Nigerian Police.

In his welcome address, AIG Fayoade eulogised the dedication of the Commission in ensuring peace and tranquility in the society, which aligns with the responsibility of the Nigerian Police Force.

He further affirmed the willingness of the Force in collaborating with the Commission to serve justice to the citizens of Lagos, especially the downtrodden.
