LEGISLATIVE DUTIES

1. FACILITATION OF MDG PROJECTS:
In order to ensure that our constituency attained the Millennium Development Goals (especially in area of access to quality education). We facilitated the following projects:

• Construction of Public Library at Vetland Primary School, and provided furniture & books.

• Provision of furniture and teaching aids at Ebenezer Primary School, Beckley Estate, Ojokoro

• Construction of prototype classroom block

• Provision of furniture & fittings at Agbado Ijaiye Primary School, ojokoro

•Provision of books & teaching aids at Agbado-Ijaiye Primary School, Ojokoro

• Construction of a block of classrooms & prototype toilets at Ayanleye Primary school, ifako-ijaiye

• Provision of school furniture at Ayanleye Primary school, ifako

• Provision of books & teaching aids at Ayanleye Primary school, ifako

• Construction of new toilet and provision of school furniture and fittings at Coker Primary School, Ifako.

• Provision of school furniture/fittings at Ogundimu Primary School, Iju.

• I sponsored a Bill to amend the Compulsory, free Universal Basic Education Act, 2005 in order to ensure that the right of a pupil under the Act is legally enforceable and to provide for those who can enforce such right.

i. Economic empowerment (skill acquisition, provision of tools of trade etc):

• We provided tools of trade to 516 constituents

ii. Educational support scheme (N10,000/ student of tertiary institutions, payment of school fees of children of widows & indigents, provision of GCE & JAMB forms)

• A total of 118 students were given N10,000 each as book subsidy
• 24 children of widows, enjoyed tuition-only scholarships.

iii. Financial grants (cash grants to persons & groups to bolster their businesses)

iv. Medical intervention (paying for surgical operations, providing prosthetic leg etc)

• Donation of 2 Buses to CAN, Ifako & Ojokoro
