The Russian Defence Ministry has claimed that 38 Nigerian mercenaries fighting in Ukraine have been killed
The Russian Defence Ministry has claimed that 38 Nigerian mercenaries fighting in Ukraine have been killed since the beginning of the war.
Mosco says Kiev’s claim of 20,000 foreign mercenaries holding its defence is a lie, adding that it monitors and records the presence in Ukraine of every representative of countries who moved to the country as a mercenary or trainee.
The total number of foreign mercenaries that have moved to Ukraine, according to the report is 6,956 out of which 1,956 have been killed while 1,779 fled back to their home countries.
Only 3,221 of the foreign mercenaries, who migrated from 64 countries are left, as of June 17, 2022.
Of this number, a total of 85 Nigerians were part of the foreign mercenaries, 38 have been killed while 35 returned to their home country. It said only 12 of this number remain in the country.

Davido Offers Scholarship To Indigent Student With Excellent WASSCE Result

Singer, Davido, has offered full scholarship to an indigent student, Morro Suleyman, who scored distinctions in all subjects in his West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
Davido, had earlier launched a search for the student, after his story was published by a news platform.
Giving an update on the search, he said, “We have contacted Suleyman who lives in Ghana and he has been given a full 4/5 year scholarship to Adeleke university .. accommodation and allowance included ! God bless y’all .. ”

Nigerian biker who travelled from London to Lagos by road, Kunle Adeyanju, has revealed that he is planning another trip from Lagos with a new bike.
The 44-year-old departed London on April 19 and arrived in Lagos after 41 days of travelling more than 13,000 kilometres across 13 countries and 42 cities.
Adeyanju, in an interview with Arise TV on Tuesday, stated that he plans to travel to Isreal and Mount Everest by road after his last daring adventure.
He stated that his next trip will be from Lagos to Israel and then the autonomous Chinese region of Tibet with a new bike.
He said, “I’m going to buy another bike and do another adventure. My next adventure is going to be riding from Lagos to Israel, just passing through Israel [and] then to Tibet.
