In this democratic environment, electoral victors have often depended on synthetic results bearing unpredictable heterogeneity. The recent APC primary election in Ondo State occurred, but not without being influenced by the historical attributes of our elections.

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."

Contrasting Cognate Experience: A Soul-Searching Journey for Ilaje Governorship

Beyond senatorial considerations, Ilaje has the candidates with the requisite state craft to govern Ondo State. This is narrowed to Chief Sola Ebiseni and HE Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The disparity in cognate experience between Aiyedatiwa and Chief Ebiseni is striking. While both are contending for the governorship of Ondo State, Ebiseni boasts a wealth of experience, having served as a commissioner on three separate occasions for a cumulative period of over ten (10) years. His tenure spans administrations under late Chief Adefarati and Dr. Mimiko, providing him with a deep understanding of state governance and policymaking.

In stark contrast, Aiyedatiwa's experience in state governance is comparatively limited, with just four years of service as a member of the State Executive Council, first as Deputy Governor and subsequently as Governor. This shorter tenure may leave him less familiar with the intricacies of state affairs and decision-making processes.

To illustrate, consider the analogy of an Executive Director who has spent years within a company, acquiring intricate knowledge of its operations and dynamics, versus a newly onboarded Managing Director. The former's extensive experience affords them a comprehensive understanding of the company's inner workings, whereas the latter may still be in the process of familiarizing themselves with the organization's complexities.

It's worth noting that both Chief Ebiseni and Mr. Aiyedatiwa belong to different political parties, further emphasizing the divergence in their approaches and ideologies. For Ilaje, the upcoming governorship contest presents an opportunity to carefully consider the candidates' respective experiences and qualifications before making an informed decision.

Despite the fact that both Ebiseni and Aiyedatiwa are still aspirants in their respective political parties, PDP and APC, Ilaje should rally support for both candidates and cultivate their acceptability throughout the state.

Navigating Development: Overcoming Greed for the Progress of Ilaje and Ondo State.

Report says that the NDDC is set to hand-over the Erinje Substation, a vital 132kV/33kV power infrastructure, to Transmission Company of Nigeria around March 2024, tentatively concluding the project's activities. Despite its sluggish progress, its completion serves the community's welfare and regional development.

Reflecting on this, had leaders supported the Ayetoro Embarkment project regardless of its pace, it would have likely reached fruition, fostering economic vitality and employment opportunities within the immediate community. This aligns with a Keynesian economic approach, wherein sluggish progress can still benefit communities and youth through economic stimulation. Late Dr Agagu demonstrated the development playbook that Ilaje deserved.

Similarly, the Ugonla-Ughoye road could have provided analogous advantages if leaders had allowed its implementation. The Ubo-Eripato project shares the same fate.

Regrettably, these initiatives remain dormant due to the infiltration of greed among decision-makers, hindering progress and denying communities of potential benefits. Envisioning these projects are operational, it'd highlights that development is a gradual process, requiring sustained commitment rather than hasty actions driven by self-interest.

In the realm of academic perspective, Professor Dayo Faduyile stands out as the most politically adept candidate for governing Ondo State, given his academic qualifications.

Conversely, those least equipped for this leadership position are individuals who rely solely on their O'level certificates, exemplified by the incumbent Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Mr. Agboola Ajayi.

Within these extremes, Dr Jimoh Ibrahim commands attention with his nine degrees, including two PhDs. However, failure (unavailability of records) to mentor and produce PhD holders undermines his candidacy, thereby reinforcing Professor Faduyile's prominence.

Others positioned in the middle ground, likely holding only undergraduate degrees, include Messrs Olusola Ebiseni, Wale Akinterinwa, Olusola Oke, Kolade Akinjo, Bamidele Akingboye, etc.

Reflecting on the tenure of the late Dr Olusegun Agagu, the populace experienced an era characterized by people-oriented policies, fostering widespread satisfaction. The administration adopted a progressive approach, implementing a Keynesian economic model to drive development strategically.

Acknowledging Professor Faduyile's academic achievements is essential in evaluating his potential for effective governance.

However, the prevailing political landscape, influenced by affiliations with A*o Rock, often obscures true merit. The upcoming APC Primary Election on April 25, 2024, will shed light on the party's chosen candidate, guiding the trajectory of Ondo State's future.

In the recent discourse initiated by Engineer Tunji L'ght Ariyomo, directed at Governor Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, likening apples to oranges has cogent basis.

The stark inadequacy in developmental progress under the governance of ODSG is glaringly evident.

Should there be any disquiet among members of Aiyedatiwa's camp due to this singular critique, an extensive catalogue of ongoing projects spearheaded by the administration will promptly be disseminated to the public sphere.

Dear brethren, there is no shortage of real-life examples of agape type of Love for humanity, but by any measure, the example; ‘Jesus laid down his life for us,’ overwhelms whatsoever a mortal has given to humanity. It is an irreducible template of love which everyone needs to have, not just in ‘speech but with actions and in truth,’ therefore, there is no justifiable reasons for not to be kind – Love – to one another. On the same token, in her commencement speech at the American University College of Arts & Sciences 2019 Graduate Class, Novelist and Essayist Chimamanda Adichie shared the experience, she had with a centurion African-American lady whose name is Vivian Bailee. In verbatim, Adichie narrates thus: “Last year, I met a remarkable woman called Vivian Bailee, she was born in 1918, here, in Washington DC. She is a tiny African-American woman, 100 years old, and since she retired from government in 1975. She’s raising money to send care packages to serving members of the armed forces. She’s raised money to make sure that children from an underserved public school close to her, get to go on field trips, and when she was asked why she did so much while having so little, she said, quite simply; ‘I like to keep busy.’”

Emphasizing what she grasped from the story, Adichie said; “Vivian Bailee taught me, that real human impact is never about quantity, is always about quality.”

The story further gives credence to the Welfare Package, and such act must remain with us as we desire the old bowel.

Gravitate towards one another; many of you has an introversion trait, but with forthright interactions, pains and challenges can be revealed to each other. In that case, do not whine, and do not make coax jokes out of it. Be genuinely concerned with actionable suggestions. By this act, the efficacy of being kind to one another would simply replace the gulf of differences between us with smart bridges. Remember, those you are kind to, would not forget!

Ladies and gents, the very essence you’re on campus is to achieve a dream. But do understand that dreams are free, but realities are not. It is on this premise that I want to remarkably close, but not without a mention of a few current realities to your hearings to help you understand things you really need, to achieve the dreams. Have you heard of a man who commercialized his undergraduate chemistry project? Have you used Soul Mate hair cream? Sir Ndukwe Osogho-Ajala owns Soul Mate company. Now you know, he’s a Nigerian, who, in about 25 years ago, established an economic prosperity from a final year project. Soul Mate has over 500 employees with presence in the United States of America, and other developed nations.

.. An excerpt from the text titled "A Path to Old Bowel" delivered at the Welfare Day of Cele FutaFuta on October 26, 2019 (2/3).
