NAGAFF CONSTITUTE COMMITTEE ON MARITIME INLAND TRANSPORTATION HIKE.

TERMS OF REFERENCE.

1. TO FIND OUT THE REMOTE CAUSE OF HIKE IN TRANSPORTATION CHARGES.
2. TO ENGAGE THE TRANSPORT GROUPS TO FINDING SOLUTION TO THE AVOIDABLE CHARGES.
3. TO ENGAGE SHIPPER'S COUNCIL AS THE COMMERCIAL REGULATIONS.
4. TO CO-OPT OTHER SISTER ASSOCIATIONS IN FINDING SOLUTION.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Whereas we share the grieve and difficulties the haulage group may be undergoing presently, it is regrettable the hike in haulage cost within Lagos and up-country. The current charge for a 40ft container standing at N650,000.00 local and N1.2m up-country are unjustifiable. It shall be the veiw of NAGAFF that Nigeria Shipper's Council, as the commercial regulator has the statutory mandate to mitigate the present state of unregulated transport cost.
While waiting for Nigeria Shipper's Council to react and take additional steps, it shall be our mandate to invite all registered associations under CRFFN to hold a meeting to articulate our position which may lead to withdrawal of services.
Meanwhile, all freight forwarders with financial means shall begin to invest on haulage trucks immediately.
The time and venue of the meeting shall be 10.00am and NAGAFF HQTRS respectively on Tuesday 24th July 2018.
