HON. ROSIJI SETS GOVERNANCE TONE IN OJOKORO, DEMANDS SYNERGY AS NEW POLITICAL APPOINTEES MEET MANAGEMENT TEAM
In a decisive move to strengthen administrative cohesion and enhance service delivery, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, on Monday, March 30, convened a high-level familiarization meeting with newly sworn-in political office holders and the council’s management staff.
Held at the Council Secretariat Hall, the meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisory Councillors, Special Advisers, and career officers.
The gathering provided a platform for formal introductions as well as the alignment of roles, expectations, and operational priorities.
Addressing the participants, Hon. Yemisi Rosiji emphasized that the meeting was critical to fostering a seamless working relationship between political appointees and the management team. She stressed the importance of unity, synergy, and a shared vision in driving a progressive administration that delivers tangible benefits to the people.
The Chairman charged all appointees to uphold the oath of secrecy they sworn to, maintain professionalism, and ensure that information is verified through appropriate channels. In a goodwill message, the Chairman eulogized President Tinubu for his enduring contributions to Nigeria’s democratic growth and national development. She recalled his remarkable tenure as Governor of Lagos State, noting that his administration laid a solid foundation for infrastructural development, economic expansion, and effective governance in the state.

OJOKORO LCDA DRIVES WATER ACCESS AS ROSIJI PARTNERS LAGOS WATER CORPORATION ON TEAM WATER NIGERIA PROJECT
The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has reinforced the council’s commitment to improved public health and infrastructure through a strategic partnership with the Lagos State Water Corporation and WaterAid, culminating in the launch of the Team Water Nigeria Project.
The landmark event, held at Shoregate Hotel, Ikeja on Tuesday, 24th March brought together key stakeholders across government and development sectors to advance sustainable water solutions for underserved communities in Ojokoro and beyond.
Designed to expand equitable access to clean water, the initiative focuses on the rehabilitation of waterworks in Ojokoro and Iju, network expansion, and strengthening service delivery through improved utility management and regulatory support. The project is expected to provide safe and reliable water to over 100,000 residents.
A major highlight of the event was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signaling a unified commitment among partners to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
In her keynote address, Hon. Yemisi Rosiji emphasized the critical role of potable water in human survival, public health, and socio-economic development. She described Ojokoro as a fast-growing community in need of sustainable infrastructure and assured all partners of the council’s full support in delivering the project’s objectives.
She also expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Water Corporation, WaterAid, and the Lagos State Government for bringing the transformative initiative to Ojokoro, noting that it would significantly improve residents’ welfare and complement ongoing developmental efforts within the LCDA.

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr, calling for renewed commitment to unity, peace, and communal development.
In a goodwill message released from her office, the chairman congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, describing the period as one of spiritual renewal, sacrifice, and devotion to Almighty Allah.
Hon. Yemisi Rosiji noted that Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time for celebration but also a moment to reflect on the values of compassion, obedience, tolerance, and love for one another. OJOKORO GEARS UP FOR MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION REVIVAL AS STUDENTS LEAD BY EXAMPLE
In a renewed push for a cleaner and healthier environment, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has called on residents to embrace the reintroduction of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, set to commence on April 25, 2026.
The exercise, approved by the Lagos State Government through the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, will hold every last Saturday of the month between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Hon. Yemisi Rosiji made this appeal on Tuesday 17th March, while receiving pupils of Ijaiye-Ojokoro Senior High School, who visited the council secretariat for a community service exercise.
The Chairman, alongside her cabinet members, warmly welcomed the students and commended their sense of responsibility and civic commitment.
The visit turned into a practical demonstration of service as the pupils, under the guidance of their teachers, were seen dutifully sweeping and cleaning the nooks and crannies of the LCDA secretariat. Their enthusiasm and discipline drew admiration from council officials and onlookers alike, reflecting the positive impact of instilling values of responsibility and environmental consciousness at a young age.
Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Rosiji emphasized the importance of the monthly sanitation exercise, describing it as a critical step toward improving public health, preventing environmental hazards, and fostering a culture of cleanliness among residents. She noted that proper sanitation reduces the spread of diseases, enhances the aesthetic appeal of communities, and strengthens collective responsibility among citizens.

HON. ROSIJI EMPOWERS DESERVING OJOKORO STUDENTS WITH JAMB FORMS
The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, on Tuesday, March 17, presented Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to deserving students across the council area as part of efforts to promote access to education and support academic advancement among youths.
The programme, held at the council hall, demonstrated the administration’s commitment to initiatives that promote education and deliver meaningful benefits to the people and the community.
In her address, Hon. Yemisi Rosiji described education as the a powerful tool for building lives and unlocking human potential in a rapidly changing world. She noted that the initiative is aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for self-reliance and future success.
According to her, the programme was designed to ease the financial burden on parents while creating opportunities for young people to pursue their academic dreams.
She emphasized that no child should be denied access to education due to financial constraints.
Hon. Rosiji further stated that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which places strong emphasis on education and youth development as key drivers of national growth and progress.

In her opening remarks, the Council Manager, Mrs. Akinola Mojisola, encouraged the beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity provided. She urged the students to study diligently, revise consistently, and prepare thoroughly.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Master Naheem Oluwatobiloba expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman for the opportunity and for organizing the coaching programme. He commended the tutor’s dedication and described the Chairman as not only a leader but also a mentor, assuring her that the beneficiaries would make her proud through their success.

Also speaking at the event, the Supervisor for Education and Library Services, Hon. Busari Nasiru, advised the students to manage their time effectively and remain disciplined in their studies. To further motivate them, he pledged to reward any student who scores 280 and above in the JAMB examination with his one month’s salary, as an incentive for academic excellence.

ROSIJI PARTNERS LAGOS STATE MINISTRY OF WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE TO DRIVE GBELEYI–AMJE ROAD CONSTRUCTION IN OJOKORO
Residents and stakeholders in Alakuko area of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area gathered today 11th March for a crucial sensitization meeting ahead of the commencement of the long-awaited construction of the Gbeleyi–Amje Road, a constituency project recently approved by the Lagos State Government.
The meeting, convened by the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, brought together government officials, engineers, community leaders and residents to deliberate on the scope of the project and foster collaboration ahead of the commencement of construction.
Addressing the gathering, the council chairman appreciated the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his sustained commitment to infrastructural development across the state, noting that the approval of the Gbeleyi–Amje Road project reflects the administration’s dedication to improving the living conditions of residents in various communities.
Hom. Yemisi Rosiji described the project as a major infrastructural intervention that will significantly improve mobility, stimulate economic activities and address the long-standing challenges faced by residents along the axis.
She noted that her administration had consistently engaged the state government and relevant agencies to advocate for the reconstruction of the road while also undertaking palliative works on several inner roads within the LCDA to ease movement for residents pending comprehensive intervention.
According to her, the success of the project will depend largely on the cooperation and support of the community, urging residents, landlords, traders and youth groups to work closely with engineers and contractors throughout the construction period.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Member representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Olotu, represented by Mr. Sanjo Ogunmoyede, commended the council chairman for her collaboration and commitment to ensuring the project became a reality. He encouraged residents to cooperate fully with the engineers for smooth and effective ex*****on of the construction work.
Former two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Ipoola Omisore, also lauded the council chairman for her developmental strides and urged residents to support the contractor to ensure the project is delivered successfully.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ojokoro, Alhaji Jelili Oseni, in his remarks commended Governor Sanwo-Olu, the state lawmaker and the council chairman for facilitating the road project, describing it as a development that would transform the outlook of the Alakuko community.
Community leaders equally expressed appreciation to the council leadership. Speaking on behalf of the Community Development Council, Vice Chairman Alhaji Adeyemi, representing the CDC Chairman, said the road had caused significant hardship for residents, particularly during the rainy season when flooding often made the area difficult to access.
He therefore urged residents to cooperate with government officials and contractors and make the necessary sacrifices required to ensure smooth ex*****on of the project.
Providing technical details of the project, the Resident Engineer for Ifako-Ijaiye/Ojokoro from the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Kayode Awosile, who represented the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola, disclosed that the road construction contract had been awarded to Visible Construction Limited.
Engr. Awosile explained that construction would commence in the coming days, beginning with extensive drainage works from the start to the end of the road to address flooding challenges in the area.
He further stated that the road will run from Baale Animasaun to Amje Bus Stop and will be fully interlocked with service ducts for telecommunications infrastructure to prevent future excavation and damage to the road after completion. The project will also include modern streetlights to enhance safety and visibility.
He, however, informed residents that some structures had been marked within the road’s right-of-way and appealed to affected property owners to begin removing items from the marked areas to prevent delays during the construction phase.
The sensitization meeting also had attendance councillors, supervisors, special advisers, members of the LCDA management team, engineers from the Ministry of Works, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders.
Residents at the meeting expressed optimism that the long-awaited project would bring lasting relief and significant transformation to the Alakuko community and its environs.

HON. ROSIJI SWEARS IN SLG, 12 SUPERVISORY COUNCILLORS, URGES UNITY AND SERVICE TO OJOKORO RESIDENTS
The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Barr.) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, Friday 6th March presided over the swearing-in of the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) and twelve Supervisory Councillors, charging them to deploy their experience and work in unity to advance the development of the council area.
The ceremony, held at the council secretariat, marked a significant step in consolidating the administration’s governance structure as the chairman emphasized the importance of teamwork, dedication, and people-oriented service.
In her address, Hon. Yemisi Rosiji described the event as a milestone in strengthening the machinery of government, noting that effective governance requires the collective effort of committed and competent individuals.
She urged the newly sworn-in officials to see their appointments as an opportunity to serve the people and justify the confidence reposed in them.
She stressed the need for unity of purpose among members of the administration, calling on the appointees to cooperate with one another and bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their duties.
According to her, now that the government is fully constituted, residents of Ojokoro should expect increased momentum in the delivery of developmental and people-centred projects across the council area.

Busari, Mr. Tajudeen Adeleke Adefolabi, Mr. Emmanuel Olanrewaju Owolabi, Mrs. Juliana Omolara Ajayi, Mr. Abdul Rasaq Kola Amosu, Mr. Aduragbemi Lanre Olaide, and Mr. Alimi Ibrahim Akanji who were cleared by the Legislative Arm of the council.
Speaking at the event, former member of the House of Representatives, James Owolabi, congratulated the appointees and urged them to work closely with the chairman in delivering effective governance.
He advised them to carry out their assigned duties with diligence and integrity so that the people of Ojokoro would be proud of their performance after their tenure.
The ceremony attracted several prominent political leaders and stakeholders including Hon.
