At the commemoration of 2025 International Literacy Day held at the National Library of Nigeria, Lagos

*MEDIAN SUMMER HOLIDAY PROGRAMME IN NATIONAL LIBRARY OF NIGERIA, LvAGOS BRANCH*

The Lagos State Branch in collaboration with ZODML organised a four week summer holiday programme for children in the library community from 4th - 28th August 2025.
‎ This initiative was aimed at providing children with enriching academic, creative, and life skill experiences . Twenty- six children were in attendance.

*‎Programme Highlights*

‎1. *Literacy and Language Development*
‎Poetry Writing, Grammar Lessons,
‎ Comprehension and Summary Writing ,‎ Public Speaking and
‎Spelling Bees
‎
‎2. *Creative Arts and Expression* which includes
‎Drawing and Acrylic Painting, artworks on paper and canvas. Origami, hairstyling and sewing practicals

‎3 *. Academic and General Knowledge*
‎ Quizzes and Games educational games like Scrabble, Ayo, Monopoly, snake and ladder etc
‎
‎4 *. Technology and Digital Literacy*
‎ Digital Literacy, Training, Internet Safety, ‎Technology Awareness etc
‎5 *. Cultural and Historical Education*

‎ *Awards and Prizes*
Outstanding students were prizes awarded
‎All the participants received book gifts as a token of encouragement.

‎*Conclusion*
‎The Summer Holiday Programme was marked by enthusiastic student participation, and effective facilitators. The programme provided a well-rounded educational experience. The NLN, Lagos and her partners remain committed to fostering learning opportunities that empower young minds and promote lifelong learning.
