Help a brother

Tell me what you know About Ekpo Nkawo

I learned If you, as a husband, is aware of your wife's infidelity and you keep quiet, refusal to report her to the family authorities so she can face traditional rites, you are on a death path.

How true is this?

“My children didn’t choose to be born. I chose to have children. They owe me nothing. I owe them everything.” ❤️

This powerful quote, often attributed to Elon Musk, has sparked an important conversation about parenthood and the responsibilities that come with raising children.

The message is simple: children never asked to be brought into this world. That was a decision made by their parents.

Providing food, shelter, education, love, and support isn't something children should spend their lives feeling indebted for. It's part of the responsibility parents accept when they choose to have a family.

Of course, that doesn't mean children shouldn't appreciate their parents or show them kindness and respect.

But there's a difference between gratitude and obligation.

Some parents believe their children owe them everything for the sacrifices they made, while others believe those sacrifices are simply part of loving and raising a child.

The quote has resonated with people because it challenges the idea that parenthood should come with an expectation of repayment.

After all, perhaps the greatest reward of raising children is watching them grow into happy, independent adults who feel loved rather than indebted.

Do you agree that children owe their parents nothing, or do you believe they have a responsibility to repay their parents for everything they've done? ❤️

In 2005, the Olusegun Obasanjo administration alleged that the Ibrahim Babangida regime had spent part of Nigeria’s accumulated $36 billion foreign debt on importing sardines for the military.

Mansur Mukhtar, then Director-General of the Debt Management Office (DMO), said some of the same loans were used to buy hospital equipment that never arrived in Nigeria.

"But we had all the legal documents that had been signed, and sometimes our own people, commissioners at state level, signing a notarised note (notary public) that they have duly accepted those things."

Mukhtar also recalled that the Paris Club had been reluctant to grant Nigeria debt relief because of the affluent lifestyle displayed by Nigerian officials who negotiated debt rescheduling in Paris in 1986. They stayed in the most expensive hotel, kept creditors waiting for nearly an hour and arrived in "five to six limousines."

The episode prompted Mukhtar to ask, "The loan that we took, what did we do with the money? Did it produce any positive result?"

Do you think he can make it?
