At HDI we believe that showing God’s love means meeting both spiritual and physical needs. Through our food pantry we reach out to families and individuals with food items, reminding them that God still cares and help is still available.

An Iraqi girl living in an orphanage missed her mother so much that she found her own way to feel close again. With only a piece of chalk, she drew her mother’s figure on the ground. Then she laid down gently inside the outline, curled up as if being held, and fell asleep. ❤️
This simple act says more than words ever could. It shows how deep a child’s love is, how strong the bond between a mother and child remains even in absence, and how creative the human heart can be when searching for comfort.
It is beautiful, heartbreaking, and powerful all at once. May it remind us not to take love and family for granted, and to hold the people we cherish a little closer today.
