ATIKU TO BUHARI: DONT THROW NIGERIA INTO CRISIS OVER PLANNED REMOVAL OF THE CJN

Former Vice President cm PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the planned arraignement of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, by the Federal government on Monday January 14th. The Federal government plans to arraigne Onnoghen over his alleged refusal to declare his assets since his assumption of office.

Reacting to this development, Atiku in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu today January 12th, Atiku said the plot to sack Justice Onnoghen was a preemptive by the party in the face of imminent defeat it will suffer come February 16th.

“We have just been made aware of the plot by President Muhammadu Buhari the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sack Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen using flimsy assets declaration issues as a pretext. We are aware that there are plans to arraign Justice Onnoghen before the Justice Danladi Yakubu Umar led-Code of Conduct Tribunal on Monday, January 14, 2019.

“The charge against Onnoghen, we understand has already been filed and served on him last Friday at his official residence in Abuja preparatory to his appearance at the Tribunal.

”But we warn that despite the clandestine meetings in the highest echelon of the APC and also involving some top officials of the federal government which include the Code of Conduct Tribunal, neither Buhari nor the APC can re-write the Nigerian Constitution just because of its impending defeat at the February 16, presidential election.

“Heavens did not fall when PDP lost to the APC in 2015. And heavens will not fall now that the APC is sure to lose to the PDP, seeing that the APC’s plan to rig in the forthcoming elections will not pull through.” the statement read

UNITED STATES OFFICIALS INVITES ATIKU TO COME FOR VISA

The Director-General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Orgsanisation (APCO), Gbenga Daniel, says PDP presidnetial candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has received signal from the US government to apply for visa which would be granted. Daniel who is a former Governor of Ogun State disclosed this when he appeared on Channels TV today October 31st.

Atiku who emerged PDP presidential flagbearer on October 7th, is widely believed to be wanted for alleged corruption in the US and has reportedly been banned from coming into the US.

Speaking during his interview today, Daniel said

“There have been signals from the American officials that he should indeed come forward; they want him to come so that they would grant him visa. This issue of corruption perception appears to have been overflogged.

"I remember when we were running the campaign against the primary, and everybody kept confronting us with this perception; we kept saying the thing is no more than perception. Politically-motivated perception, which unfortunately appears to have stuck. But, by and large, I think as we move towards the real issues, people will begin to understand that all this is politically motivated.

"I have repeatedly said that we’re not in a Banana Republic. Nigerians, as a people, we know our weaknesses; anything that is negative about our leaders, we are ready to believe it hook, line and sinker. Until such a time when charges are pressed, then there are no issues as far as we are concenrned.

More than anything else, if you look at newspapers in the last few days, we’ve had even statements issued by the State Department that they have no issue whatsoever with Atiku Abubakar; and if I may chip this in, I can also confirm to you that in the last few days, there have been signals from the American officials that he should indeed come forward; they want him to come so that they would grant him visa. JOBLESSNESS IS A DISEASE WE MUST CURE
-Atiku Abubakar

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has said that joblessness is a disease his government must cure if elected in 2019.

The former Vice President also said that the symptoms of joblessness are crimes and so, must be tamed by the creation of millions of jobs for the teaming jobless Nigerians.

Abubakar gave the statement during a chat with the number one bestselling author and former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Reno Omokri. The chat was revealed in a tweet by Pastor Omokri.

According to Atiku, only through job creation can his government be adjudged as haven done its job. He said, if they failed to create jobs, then they would have failed at doing their jobs. According to him, “Reno, we must create jobs. Joblessness is a disease and the symptoms are crime and terrorism. The best way to fight the outcomes is by curing the disease. If we do not create jobs, then we have failed at doing our jobs.”

Meanwhile, Pastor Omokri has urged the All Progressives Congress, APC, party to list the jobs that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government has created since inception of office.

Pastor Omokri who listed the Jobs the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, created to include,”from just American University of Nigeria, Faro, Rica Gardo & Standard Microfinance. Atiku created 50k jobs, to mention a few” however challenged the APC to, “list Buhari’s jobs!”

According to him, “ is silly to say must list jobs he created. Their focus should be jobs created. Let me humor them. From just American University of Nigeria, Faro, Rica Gardo & Standard Microfinance. Atiku created 50k jobs, to mention a few. APC, list Buhari’s jobs!”

“Cluelessness is when President accuses past administrations of not building infrastructure only for his finance minister to announce the next day that govt is so broke that they are selling national assets built by past governments to fund their 2019 budget .”

Also taking a swipe at Buhari for criticising the past government of Jonathan, Pastor Omokri tweeted, “ is an ingrate for saying Jonathan did nothing for infrastructure. Who built the only federal university in Buhari’s state? Who built the $1.4 billion Abuja-Kaduna railway? Who revived the railways? Who built the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON)? .

ATIKU WILL ZONE THE OFFICE OF THE SGF TO THE SOUTH-WEST

Gbenga Daniel, Director General, Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, says the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) will go to the South-west if Mr Abubakar wins the presidency.

Mr Daniel, a former governor of Ogun State, made the declaration at an interactive session with journalists on Sunday in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the PDP had initially zoned its national chairmanship to the South-west, but later picked Uche Secondus from the South-south.

Also, Mr Abubakar’s running mate, Peter Obi, hails from the South-east.

“We need to understand that the candidate has control over who becomes his running mate during the election and who becomes the SGF if he wins.

“The decisions on major offices are being given serious consideration and no zone or region will be marginalised.

“The offices of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Reps will be decided after the polls and based on what plays out in both houses.

“Aside from major slots, I think what is paramount to the people of the South-west is restructuring of the country, which Atiku is very serious about.

“So the issue for the South-west is not personality or slot issue per say because personalities come and go but restructuring Nigeria is significant and more symbolic than zoned offices,” he said.

On Mr Abubakar’s manifesto, Mr Daniel said that it would be published as soon as the campaigns kick off.
