Some members of the NYSC Anti-Corruption CDS Group on a courtesy visit to meet with the newly inaugurated EXCOS, members and teachers in charge of the Anti Corruption club in Makurdi International School on the 8th July, 2021.

*KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!* If we must defeat Corruption, we should know how these corrupt acts are perpetrated and how to tackle it.

It was a beautiful moment when an official from EFCC: Mr Samuel Adebayo educated the members of the NYSC Anti-Corruption CDS Group about fraudulent activities ranging from investment scams, ATM scams, fake SMS alert amongst others and the ways these can be avoided.

*SAY NO TO CORRUPTION!!!*

Education is a fundamental human right and a major driver of personal and social development. It is regarded as a foundational right, whose achievement is a precondition for a person’s ability to claim and enjoy many other rights. However, in societies where corruption is rampant, there is a great risk that the entire education system will be undermined. Children and adolescents often become familiar with corruption at schools and universities, and corruption in the classroom is particularly harmful as it normalises acceptance of corruption at an early age. When this happens, a central role of the anti corruption cds is to teach ethical values and behaviour that shapes the mindset of these students into becoming productive and reliable individuals in the society. We want to use this medium to thank government girls college for the opportunity to educate their students on the challenges of corruption and how to curb it and also our ICPC officials for taking time out of their busy schedule to support our movement and ensures it becomes a success. The fight against corruption is a fight for all so See Something,Say Something and Do Something!!!

Corruption in the educational sector and society at large threatens the well-being of society because it erodes social trust and worsens inequality. It sabotages development by undermining the formation of educated, competent, and ethical individuals for future leadership and the labour force. Anti corruption cds makurdi took it as a duty to enlighten and educate the students of Boma secondary school makurdi on the ills of corruption and strategies to reduce it thereby breeding them for better managerial positions in the future and also providing a safer society for all to live in.

Corruption is the cancer at the heart of so many of our problems in the world today. It destroys jobs and holds back growth, costing the world economy billions of pounds every year. It traps the poorest in the most desperate poverty as corrupt governments around the world syphon off funds and prevent hard-working people from getting the revenues and benefits of growth that are rightfully theirs. It steals vital resources from our schools and hospitals as corrupt individuals and companies evade the taxes they owe. It can even undermine our security and development. This page was created to curb corruption and create awareness about the ills of corruption in the society.
