The Niger State Social Investment Programme (N-SIPA) joined stakeholders at the North Central FarmerMoni Flag-Off and Enumeration Exercise in Abuja.

The intervention is designed to support farmers, livestock entrepreneurs, women and young people with opportunities to strengthen their businesses, improve incomes and build sustainable livelihoods.

We commend the leadership of N-SIPA and GEEP for advancing initiatives that promote financial inclusion, economic empowerment and stronger household resilience.

RENEWED HOPE VSTP 2026: STRENGTHENING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT ACROSS NIGER STATE

The successful conclusion of the Renewed Hope Vocational and Skills Training Programme (VSTP) 2026 in Niger State represents another important step towards equipping citizens with practical, market-relevant skills that can support employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.

The programme was delivered through seven strategically located training centres, providing beneficiaries across different parts of Niger State with access to vocational and technical skills development.

TRAINING CENTRES:

1. C-STEMP Skills Training and Empowerment Center — Suleja/Zuba LGA
2. DEED (Federal Polytechnic Bida) — Bida LGA
3. Federal College of Education, Kontagora / Inter-links — Kontagora LGA
4. Government Technical College, Tungan Goro, Minna — Minna
5. Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Centre— Minna
6. Minna Institute of Technology and Innovation (MITI) — Minna
7. Niger State Polytechnic — Wushishi LGA

Training covered 14 high-demand vocational trades, spanning agriculture, automobile technology, construction, electrical installation, plumbing, welding and fabrication, fashion, catering, baking, hospitality and other practical areas relevant to local economic opportunities.

For the Niger State Social Investment Programme Office, the programme demonstrates the value of coordinated Federal-State collaboration in bringing social investment interventions closer to citizens and strengthening pathways towards economic participation.

However, training completion should be viewed as a transition point rather than an endpoint.

The next phase is to encourage beneficiaries to apply their skills, develop enterprises, pursue employment opportunities, build professional networks and contribute to the economic development of their communities.

The Renewed Hope Nationwide Vocational and Skills Training Programme has commenced across designated centres in Niger State.

The initiative is equipping participants with practical skills for self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods, with starter packs to support them after successful completion.

The Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme has commenced continued distribution of debit cards to 46,533 vulnerable households across the 25 LGA of Niger State.

Under this intervention, each beneficiary is entitled to sum of ₦75,000 in three tranches of ₦25,000 to help cushion the effects of current economic challenges.

The Niger State Social Investment Programme remains committed to supporting vulnerable households and promoting inclusive social protection across all 25 LGAs.
