BOLA OYEBAMIJI’S THUGS, LED BY AKINKUNMI ALABI (OJUYOBO), ATTACK ACCORD MEMBER IN IKIRE
• Accord Irewole Local Government Chapter Demands Immediate Removal of Irewole Divisional Police Officer
The Accord, Irewole Local Government Chapter, fiercely condemns the unchecked, primitive, and state-backed political banditry plaguing our local government. The escalating, bloodthirsty attacks on our members have reached a tipping point, entirely enabled by the glaring incompetence or deliberate collusion of local law enforcement. We are forcefully demanding the immediate and unconditional removal of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Mr. Olatona Bamidele, whose continued presence in Irewole has become a direct threat to peace, safety, and democratic engagement.
This institutional failure was laid bare at approximately 8:00 p.m. yesterday along the UNIOSUN Campus Road in Ikire, where the violent underbelly of our local politics reared its ugly head once again. Mr. Taofeeq Akinyemi, popularly known as "Paramole," was brutally assaulted at his own place of business in what was clearly a targeted hit. This vicious assault was executed by the notorious political thugs of Bola Oyebamiji, led by none other than the infamous syndicate commander, Akinkunmi Alabi (alias "Ojuyobo"). It is chillingly significant that this terror attack occurred in the exact same location where our late member, Mr. Kolade Eluyera, was previously ambushed and cold-bloodedly murdered, proving that a ruthless, unchecked pattern of political liquidation is fully underway.
Despite the gravity of these crimes, our party’s exhaustive, formal reports of these targeted assaults to the Irewole Local Government police command have been met with absolute silence and complete inaction. It is an unpardonable display of institutional unprofessionalism that despite the recurring political killings, rampant thuggery, and naked violence terrorizing Ikire and its environs, the police under this DPO have never made a single arrest, let alone prosecuted the perpetrators. It is now indisputably clear that DPO Olatona Bamidele has compromised the integrity of his uniform; whether through sheer cowardice or active collusion, his refusal to neutralize these state-sponsored thugs has turned the local police division into an extension of the aggressors' political machinery, granting notorious criminals total impunity while trading away the lives of law-abiding citizens.
Anarchic realities like this leave us with no choice but to declare that our Party, Accord will no longer sit idly by while our members are hunted down like game. We aggressively appeal to the Inspector-General of Police to launch an immediate investigation into the total collapse of security in Irewole LG and order the instant redeployment and investigation of DPO Olatona Bamidele to restore fading public confidence in law enforcement.
Furthermore, we demand an iron-fisted, entirely impartial investigation by independent security agencies into yesterday’s assault, ensuring that both the sponsors and executioners of this violence, specifically Bola Oyebamiji’s thug-in-chief, Akinkunmi Alabi (Ojuyobo) are hunted down and made to face the full wrath of the law. Let it be known that the peace of Irewole Local Government cannot be negotiated by a cartel of violent tyrants, and we will exhaust every legal avenue to protect our people.
