The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Most Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma was earlier today received in the State House by the President, Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari.

The Governor used the opportunity to present some intervention needs of the people of Imo State which the President gracious consented to.

It is worthy to note that the rapport that exist between the President and the Governor of Imo is so cordial that no other political office holder has been received in audience by the President the number of times the Governor of Imo State had been received.

This goes to show the high level confidence the President reposes on him. The President who is a stickler to excellence and integrity will have nothing to do with anyone without such value.

Truly Imo is Hopeful and soon all Imolites will begin to sing a new song of praise to God for giving them a leader after His own heart.

She said that most of the schools are now dilapidated while some have only three teachers including the Headmistress. She described the situation as very sad and urged the Chairman to convey her message to the state government for urgent attention. She said that if the ugly situation in these primary schools are not swiftly tackled, many pupils would leave for private and mission schools. On the issue of dilapidated primary schools, the Chairman said he is aware of the bad condition of some schools in Ahiazu and promised that such schools would receive government’s attention in no distant time. He said that all dilapidated schools must surely be rehabilitated just like our health care centres. He described the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma as a listening governor who must surely attend to the cries of his people. He however pleaded with the people to be patient with government because everything cannot be done at the same time.

Finally, the Chairman called on people to feel free and report issues of concern in their communities to his office for subsequent transmission to appropriate quarters. He said that he had followed that procedure to solve the problems of some communities in Ahiazu Mbaise.
