I, Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah, Executive Chairman of ISU Local Government Area, extend my warmest greetings to the good, peace-loving, and industrious people of ISU LGA as we step into the new month of April.

I give thanks to God Almighty for the grace of life and the privilege to witness another new month, and I pray that April will usher in peace, divine favour, progress, and abundant blessings upon every household across ISU Local Government Area.

I reaffirm my unwavering commitment to purposeful leadership and people-oriented governance. Chief Kenneth Ukah, graciously received and honoured the outgoing members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who successfully completed their service year in ISU LGA.

Addressing the corps members, the Chairman extolled their resilience, discipline, and patriotic service, noting that their contributions have left a lasting footprint in the social and developmental fabric of ISU Local Government Area, Imo State, and Nigeria at large. He emphasized that their service represents a noble sacrifice towards nation-building and unity.

The Executive Chairman of ISU Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah, extends his profound and heartfelt felicitations to all Christians, especially the Catholic faithful, on the sacred observance of Palm Sunday an event that heralds the triumphant entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem and signals the commencement of the Holy Week.

Describing the season as one of deep spiritual significance, the Chairman notes that Palm Sunday is not merely a celebration, but a powerful call to reflection, sacrifice, and total submission to the will of God. The Executive Chairman of ISU Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah, has received with great pride and admiration an exceptional daughter of ISU, Miss Uwandu Onyinyechi Judith of Umunwanze, Isuobishi, following her historic achievement as a National Gold Medalist in Boxing at the recently concluded National Sports Competition held in Ogun State.

Miss Onyinyechi Judith, who proudly represented Imo State as part of Team Imo, displayed uncommon courage, strength, and determination to emerge victorious, thereby placing ISU Local Government Area and Imo State on the national map of sporting excellence.

Receiving the champion at the ISU LGA Headquarters, Umundugba, Hon. Chief Ukah described her victory as a triumph of resilience, discipline, and the indomitable spirit of the ISU people.

“Today, you are not just a winner of a gold medal; you are a symbol of hope, a pride of our land, and a shining inspiration to every young person in ISU.

Your victory has written the name of ISU in gold across Nigeria,” the Chairman declared.

In a bold demonstration of leadership and commitment to youth empowerment, the Executive Chairman made a generous financial donation of ₦200,000 to support her journey, reaffirming that true talent must be nurtured, rewarded, and projected to the global stage.

He further issued a passionate call to action to leaders, stakeholders, well-meaning individuals, and the ISU diaspora, urging them to rise collectively in support of this promising young champion.

“This is not just her victory; it is our collective pride. We must invest in her dream, support her growth, and ensure that this gold medal is only the beginning of greater international triumphs,” he added.

*ISU L.G.A CHAIRMAN, HON. CHIEF KENNETH UKAH TAKES ACTION OVER ALLEGED SUBSTANDARD DRAINAGE ON ISUNJABA–UMUAKA ROAD*

The attention of the Executive Chairman of ISU Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah, has been drawn to a video currently circulating on social media regarding the alleged poor drainage construction being carried out by the contractor handling the road project from Isunjaba to Umuaka.

Following this development, the Executive Chairman has taken the matter very seriously and has assured the good people of ISU that he will personally visit the project site to carry out an on-the-spot inspection and assess the quality of work being done. The contractor responsible for the project will be invited to explain the concerns raised by members of the public regarding the quality of the drainage construction.

The Executive Chairman made it clear that H.E. Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON (Onwa Oyoko), the Governor of Imo State, is a leader known for standard, quality, and durable projects across the state. Therefore, the contractor handling the road construction must ensure that the work being done meets the standard and vision of H.E. Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON (Onwa Oyoko) without any excuse or compromise.

Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah further emphasized that his administration will not tolerate any form of substandard or poorly executed project within ISU Local Government Area. Any contractor who fails to meet the required standard will be held accountable in the interest of the people.

The Executive Chairman remains firmly committed to ensuring that all infrastructural projects in ISU are executed with transparency, accountability, and durability so that the people can truly benefit from them.

He sincerely appreciates the good people of ISU for their vigilance and for bringing the issue to his attention. Their concern and participation in monitoring public projects demonstrate the spirit of unity and shared responsibility for the growth and development of ISU.

The Executive Chairman of ISU LGA, Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah, received the Imo State Commissioner for Rural and Urban Development, Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Oruh, and other top Imo State Government officials at the ISU LGA Headquarters, Umundugba.

During the visit, both leaders discussed ways to improve rural development, strengthen infrastructure, and support ongoing projects across ISU communities. Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah thanked the Commissioner for the visit and assured him of full cooperation to bring more government projects to ISU.

Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Oruh also praised the Chairman for his hard work and the progress already visible in the Local Government Area. He promised stronger support from the Ministry to ensure more development reaches the people of ISU.

ISU LGA MOURNS A STATESMAN OF UNMATCHED DISTINCTION: HON. KENNETH UKAH EXTENDS CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF NOBLE SIR VINCENT NNANNA NNAJI, KSJI

The Executive Chairman of ISU Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Kenneth Ukah, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Noble Sir Vincent Nnanna Nnaji, KSJI, Papal Knight of St. Gregory, Former Accountant-General of Imo State, a towering elder statesman, and one of the most distinguished sons ever produced by the ISU nation.

In his condolence message, the Executive Chairman described the late Noble Sir Vincent Nnanna Nnaji as “a towering pillar of wisdom, a man of impeccable integrity, and a shining symbol of selfless leadership whose life reflected honour, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of humanity and community development.”

Noble Sir Vincent Nnanna Nnaji was not merely a leader he was an institution, a monumental figure whose influence, mentorship, and far-reaching contributions shaped lives across ISU, Imo State, and Nigeria at large. His exceptional service as the Accountant-General of Imo State brought development closer to ISU, opened windows of opportunity for her young people, and deepened the culture of professionalism and trust in public administration.
