Courtesy Visit by Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rivers State Chapter.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rivers State Chapter has fulfilled its promise to produce 10,000 stickers in support of the Campaign.
The State Chairman of PFN, Apostle Zilly Aggrey who was represented by Archbishop Eddy Ogbonda lauded the Ministry for promoting good citizenship education in the State.
Apostle Aggrey described the campaign as a laudable contribution towards the promotion of peace and development in the State.
"It has become very necessary and imperative to have men who believe in the vision of Governor Nyesom Wike to make Rivers State an investors' haven," he added.
Responding, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim thanked the PFN leadership for fulfilling the promise made few months ago.
He described the 10,000 stickers as a morale booster that will go a long way to mobilise the people of the state to support the Campaign.
"For us as a Ministry, the PFN donation is a divine endorsement that will make the Campaign to endure for a long time.
"Right now, we have reached a threshold in the history of Rivers State because over 40 stakeholder groups had endorsed the Campaign.
"May I enjoin the PFN leadership to continue to pray for Governor Nyesom Wike, who has placed his mark of excellence in all the people-oriented projects he executes for Rivers People.
"In our various churches, let us make our members understand that Rivers State should be placed first because the prosperity of the State is our prosperity," he said.

Campaign @ Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), Port Harcourt.

The Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB) is set to develop a curriculum on citizenship to consolidate the Campaign of the Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications.
The Executive Chairman, RSUBEB, Ven. Dr. Fyneface N. Akah, stated this in Port Harcourt when he received a delegation from the Ministry of Information and Communications led by the Permanent Secretary, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim.
Ven. Akah described the Campaign as one of the most ingenious and thoughtful platforms to emerge in the State in recent times.
"This campaign will ultimately aid the development of the right behavior in all Rivers State residents, and continually sensitize them to make their own contributions for the good of the State.
"It also falls aptly into what we are called to do in the Basic Education sub-sector. If we need to drive and achieve the emergence of the NEW Vision in terms of quality citizenship for tomorrow in this country, then we need to have people who will think along the lines of ownership," he added.
The RSUBEB Chairman disclosed that a strategic design for education which is focused on the child is being developed, and that citizenship formation will become a very critical aspect in the development of the curriculum for both old and new schools across Rivers State in line with the Campaign.
Earlier, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Nsirim stated that RSUBEB holds a critical position, and can mould the character of the young ones to know the values of cherishing their own State.
"We believe strongly that the place to start is at the UBE level, so that no matter what a detractor says to the teacher or child, they would be proud to defend the interests of Rivers State.
"Sensitization along this line will build a reservoir of patriots who will reject partisan and religious divisions and collectively pursue the Rivers interest," he added.
Pastor Nsirim urged RSUBEB to join hands with Governor Nyesom Wike to realise the NEW Vision which he said continues to crystallise daily, with evidential developmental strides.

Members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) have been enjoined to place the interest of Rivers State first in the building of resilient infrastructure.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim made the call in Port Harcourt at the opening ceremony of the 2019 Engineering Week of NSE.
Pastor Nsirim described the choice of the theme of the Engineering Week; "Building Resilient Infrastructure to Promote Sustainable Industrial Growth in the Niger Delta," as not only timely but appropriate for the development of the State.
"This theme is also in line with the NEW VISION of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, who has demonstrated in the past four and a half years that he is out to build resilient infrastructure for the people of Rivers State," he added.
Pastor Nsirim invited NSE to join the Campaign and tell the true narrative about the State, and as patriots defend its interest in all their activities.
"We as a people must not allow detractors to deny our State of the benefits which nature has bestowed on us.
"We should let everybody know that Rivers State is a safe haven for investments, and as patriots let us rise up to counter all negative narratives," he added.

Officers of the Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been urged to place the interests of the State first in the discharge of their duties.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim made the call in Port Harcourt today, when he led a delegation to the Command's Headquarters.
Pastor Nsirim urged the NSCDC officers to join hands with Governor Nyesom Wike to sustain the new security architecture of the State.
"In Nigeria today, Governor Wike stands out as the best supporter of security agencies, as demonstrated in the launching of "Operation Sting".
"Apart from security, the infrastructural base of the State has received a major boost under his administration.
"Rivers State is an investors' haven, and if we all support the Governor, we shall all be happy for it," he added.
In his response, The State Commandant, NSCDC, Commandant Muktar Lawal said his command will support the campaign.
Commandant Lawal pledged that his organization will collaborate with the Rivers State Government to promote a conducive business environment.
"As Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Rivers State Command, we are ready to collaborate and synergize with you on this campaign ," he added.

Campaign @ Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs (RSCIA).

Islamic Clerics and Leaders of the Muslim Community in Rivers State have been urged to propagate the interests of the State.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim made this call in Port Harcourt today, when he led a delegation to Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs (RSCIA).
Pastor Nsirim commended the muslim community for maintaining peaceful co-existence and harmony with other religious groups in the State.
He therefore urged them to place Rivers State first and not join those that want to de-market it.
"We want you to carry the message of this campaign to the various mosques and tell your members to stand against the people who want to run down our State," he added.
Responding, The Vice President General, Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs (RSCIA), Alhaji Nasir Uhor lauded the Ministry for embarking on the campaign, noting that the State belongs to all its residents.
Alhaji Uhor stated that the muslim community is obligated spiritually and physically to support constituted authority through focused prayers and constructive criticisms.
"We are ready and willing to continue fulfilling our obligations and responsibilities to the state, especially in the promotion of peaceful co-existence. We fully endorse . We will preach it and live it," he added.

The Regional General Manager, South-South/South-East Group of Airports, Mr. Felix Akinbinu has stated that Rivers State is safe for business.
Mr Akinbinu, who is also the Airport Manager, Port Harcourt International Airport stated this today in Port Harcourt when he received a delegation from the Ministry of Information and Communications, led by the Permanent Secretary, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim.
"FAAN is a gateway and we will use this Platform to correct the wrong impression about Rivers State. This is a safe State with safe environments," he stated.
Mr. Akinbinu disclosed that the Port Harcourt International Airport will be licensed and certified to meet the safety standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation for International Airports globally this year.
"This will send signals to the whole world and by extension an invitation to investors to invest in the State," he added.
Earlier, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim stated that FAAN is a critical stakeholder in the Rivers Project because of the position they occupy in terms of air travel.
"As people who work in the airport, you interact with a lot of people, so we enjoin you and your management team to be brand ambassadors for Rivers State.
"We want you to tell the world the true story about the State. It is a safe haven for investments with all the right infrastructures," he added.

Immigration Officers as gatekeepers of the State, have been urged to place Rivers State first in the discharge of their duties at various border posts.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim made this call in Port Harcourt today, when he led a delegation to Nigeria Immigration Service, Rivers State Command.
"The things you do at the various border posts of the State, go a long way to give a first timer either a good or bad impression.
"We are open to collaborations and synergy with Nigeria Immigration Service, Rivers State Command. And we enjoin your officers and men to sell Rivers State positively, wherever they are posted," he added.
Responding, The Comptroller of Immigration, Rivers State Command, Mr Segun Adegoke, lauded the Ministry for embarking on the campaign, stating that marketing the State propagates its development and value, leaving no room for negative propaganda.
"You can be sure we will partner with you in respect to this campaign and we will promote it at all the Entry Points and Passport Offices in Rivers State.
"We also look forward to future collaboration and cooperation, and on behalf of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammed Babandede, we fully endorse ," he added.

The Organized Labour have been urged to promote Rivers State as a safe haven for investment.
The Chairman, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Rivers State, Comrade Austin ThankGod Jonah made the call today in Port Harcourt when he received a delegation from the Ministry of Information and Communications led by the Permanent Secretary, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim.
Comrade Jonah noted that there has been a lot of false reportage about Rivers State and stressed the need for people to speak up against such false narratives.
"Everybody that is doing business, whether you are from Rivers State or not, should rise up against this evil done against Rivers State.
"We endorse campaign because it will help to reposition our State," he added.
Earlier, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Nsirim stated that Labour leaders have a critical role to play in the campaign. He noted that their membership which cuts across various segments in the work force should be used to propagate the true narrative about Rivers State.
Pastor Nsirim therefore called on members of TUC to think Rivers first, and support the visionary leadership of His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, who has consistently shown good faith in his Labour-relations, and has rapidly developed all sectors of the economy of the State.

Security Agencies have been enjoined to defend the interests of Rivers State.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim made this call when he visited the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army.
"We want to place on record that the Nigerian Army have been worthy allies to the State Government, and we are here to ask that the interests of Rivers State continues to remain paramount," he stated.
At the Nigeria Police Force, Rivers State Headquarters, Pastor Nsirim stated that in order to attain the Rivers State of our dreams, it is the responsibility of the Police to place the interests of Rivers State first.
In his response, The General Officer Commanding, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, represented by Brigadier General B. E. Etuk, said the aim of the campaign to galvanise stakeholders and bridge gaps between them is coming at the right time.
"The military is always ready to work with civilians. We are here to protect the citizens of Rivers State and we want its people to know that anytime they have information that borders on national security, they should not hesitate to bring it forward.
"Security is development and development is security, and that is how we can really move the state forward," he added.
Responding, The Commissioner of Police, The Nigeria Police Force, Rivers State Command, CP Mustapha Dandaura, welcomed the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Communications, and fully endorsed the campaign.
"I want to emphasize on synergy between the Police and the Ministry of Information and Communications, as partners in progress. We need your input in the fight against insecurity and the dissemination of information about our activities in the State," he stated.

The Organised Private Sector has been urged to promote Rivers State as a safe haven for investments.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim made the call when he led a delegation to PHCCIMA.
"I strongly believe that every member of PHCCIMA, and by the Organised Private Sector in Rivers State, as drivers of the economy of the country and the state, will play a leading role in this campaign as brand ambassadors," he said.
At PSN Rivers State, the Permanent Secretary enjoined Pharmacists to use their contact with the public to project the image of the State positively.
In his response, The President, Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Chief Nabil Ahmed Saleh endorsed the campaign.
"Rivers State is a peaceful state, I have been here for over 20 years. I started investing in Nigeria first in Rivers State. My head office is here and I am still living here.
"As Chamber of Commerce, at every event we represent PHCCIMA, we will tell the world that we are a positive state with positive people." he added.
Responding, The Chairman, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Rivers State, Pharm. Chima Agnellus Ogbu, MAN, described the campaign as apt and timely.
He stated that over the years, the activities of PSN Rivers State had been geared towards projecting the State, its people and socio -cultural activities to the world, on different platforms.
He assured subsequent efforts in that direction would be intensified in the days ahead.

Lecturers in the State-owned tertiary institutions have been enjoined to use their positions of trust to propagate the interest of the State.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, made the call today in Port Harcourt when he visited the Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele as part of the Campaign.
Pastor Nsirim said that all Stakeholders need to be part of changing the negative narrative about the state that has been propagated by some sections of the media.
"We need to frame the true narrative that befits Rivers State. We can not allow other people to continue to spread falsehood about us.
"I feel strongly that the University Community with its assemblage of opinion moulders, who are mentors to the upcoming generation need to be part of this campaign.
"Everyone living and doing business in Rivers State should know that this campaign is beyond partisanship. We have to come together to cub the capital flight that we have witnessed within the last few years.
"We have been robbed of what we are supposed to gain as a people because we have allowed partisanship and religious interests to divide us as a people. And our detractors are benefiting from it.
"God has placed us in positions of authority at our various levels of influence to begin to make the difference. Posterity will judge us harshly if we don't do anything now.
"Making that difference entails that whereever we are, we place Rivers State first," he added.
The Permanent Secretary enjoined all Rivers people to join hands with Governor Wike to pursue a development agenda that will be beneficial to all.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele commended the Ministry of Information and Communications for the campaign.
"This campaign is apt and the time for it is now. We will join you in this campaign and make sure Rivers State takes its pride of place in the nation," he said.
Professor Ndimele stated unequivocally that Rivers State is very safe and commended Governor Wike's efforts in the development of the state.

Campaign @ Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic
The management of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic plans to introduce a General Studies Course that will deepen StateOurResponsibility Campaign.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Samuel Kalagbor announced this today in Port Harcourt when he received a delegation from the Ministry of Information and Communications led by the Permanent Secretary, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim.
Dr Kalagbor said that the proposed course will be fused into People and Culture of Rivers State, which the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved as compulsory for all students and OND and HND levels.
He directed the Dean of General Studies and Information of the school to work out modalities for the take-off of the course in the 2019/2020 session, that will "highlight the positive aspects of Rivers State and the abundant resources and achievements of the government over the years."
He commended the pioneering moves of the Ministry and expressed willingness to partner with the her in regards to actualize the vision of the campaign.
"Without any iota of doubt in my mind, I would like to say that the entire polytechnic community wholeheartedly endorses the campaign on .
"If there are other areas that the Ministry desires to partner with us, in order to widen the horizon and extend the frontiers of this campaign, we will be willing and available to partner with you," he said.
Dr. Kalagbor listed the E-process of Studentship and accreditation of 15 courses as some of the achievements recorded by his administration.
He lauded Governor Wike's contributions towards making the institution the fastest growing urban polytechnic in Nigeria.
"The Governor is zealous and passionate about empowering the people with technical and vocational skills," he added.
Earlier, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Pastor Nsirim enumerated the objectives of the Campaign as it relates to all major stakeholder groups.
"There is a new dawn in Rivers State. Within the last four years we are blessed with a visionary leader, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, who has tenaciously pursued a development agenda that cuts across all sectors of the economy.
"The progress of Rivers State should not be hindered by the vocal minority who seek to paint it black thus affecting its Political economy.
"The State is a safe haven for investments and is ever welcoming to investors.
"Tertiary Institution lecturers as opinion leaders should join to change the negative narrative about our State in their homes, lecture halls and social gatherings.
"Our goal is that in the years to come, anyone that sets his feet on this land, will imbibe the patriotic zeal to make Rivers State better.
"Every right thinking person living in Rivers State should see himself as a brand ambassador of the Rivers brand. The Rivers brand is very big and it stands out any where in the world because of how nature has bestowed it with abundant human and natural resources.
"We all owe posterity the duty to tell our story ourselves for the common good of our state," he added.
The Permanent secretary noted that the campaign will outlive this generation and urged the polytechnic community to join hands with Governor Wike to project a good image of the state to secure a brighter future.
