THE GENEROSITY OF GOVENOR WIKE SHOULD NOT BE MISCONSTRUED

The relationship of Sokoto State and Rivers State dates back to the Melford Okilo's era and his working relationship with Shehu Shagari when they were colleagues in the cabinet in 1967.
It is on record also, that a Rivers man, Ranami Abah was the party chairman of NPN that foisted a Sokoto son as President of Nigeria, Shehu Shagari.

Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike extended the hand of brotherhood to the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal because during their difficult time, the Federal Government will not come to their aid, as Sokoto is an opposition state and will depend on the goodwill of sister states just like the case of Rivers State when Mile One market suffered the same fate and depended on goodwill from people.
It is on record that Adamu Mua'zu gave the sum of N250million in 2015 as support to the Rivers State Government when Mile One market got burnt. Other well meaning Nigerians rallied round Govenor Wike to assist his decision to rebuild the market which today has turned to a befitting edifice.

Governor Wike has proved that he is nationalist, a nation builder and a detrabilized leader. What he did is common place with people that exhibit such traits.

Generosity is not berthed on politics, it is a function of humanity and to this end, I call on well meaning Nigerians to realign their reasoning and support goodwill of Nigerians in their time of need. Let humanity prevail, we are brothers after all.

Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party Executive Committe today, Thursday the 13th paid a Courtesy visit to H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at the Rivers State Government House.

The PDP Exco presented their action plan manuscript as they unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Wike. The Governor on his part urged them not to get distracted but to unite and work together to improve the fortunes of the party.

Today The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Rivers State Chapter led by it's newly elected Chairman HE Ambassador Desmond Akawor on a courtesy visit to His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

The IPAC team also joined Governor Wike on an inspection of the new Administrative block and Clinic under construction within the Government House premises.

RIVERS PDP CONGRATULATES RIVERS PDP CAUCUS ON THEIR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN THE 9TH ASSEMBLY

The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state has congratulated Rivers State members of the National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party for their successful one year at the 9th National Assembly.

The state chairman of the party, Amb. Desmond Akawor expressed satisfaction with the robust, purposeful and effective manner in which members of the National Assembly from Rivers state have represented the state in the past one year. The State PDP chairman said that despite the fact that the Rivers state PDP caucus are in the opposition at the National level. their impact is being felt by all Nigerians due to their commitment and a well coordinated approach to their responsibilities in both the red and green chambers, stressing that there would not have been any better representation than what Rivers PDP law makers are offering at National Assembly.
Purposeful legislation,although very challenging is the expectation of the common constituents,which requires a lot of intuitive articulation and effective oratorial delivery on the floor of the house He said,and further praised them that they have not only delivered on their mandates in the past one year, but has also given a good account of themselves in their various committees during oversight functions to ensure that both Government parastatals and private organisations doing business with the Federal Government are properly checked for efficiency.
Amb. Akawor urged them to remain dutiful, committed, and responsible to their primary constituencies and the state at large as they continue to serve the country in their various capacities by making only laws that will enhance the welfare of the down trodden and the generality of the good people of Nigeria.
