Rt Hon Chibuike R Amaechi and his wife, Judith Amaechi, recently visited GAATE Farms in Nasarawa State an initiative owned by Nigerian farmer Retson A. Tedheke highlighting once again a strong belief in agriculture as a pillar for national development.

During his time as Governor, Amaechi demonstrated this commitment through strategic agricultural investments, including the establishment of the Songhai Farm, the expansion of fish farming across Rivers State, and the promotion of local produce through the vibrant CARNIRIV festival.

This visit reinforces a consistent vision: a Nigeria where agriculture drives economic growth, creates sustainable jobs, and transforms underutilised land into productive assets. Beyond food security, this approach presents a pathway to tackling insecurity by converting forest hideouts into thriving farmlands, removing safe havens for bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists.

Nigeria is rich in potential. With the right leadership and focus, agriculture can become the engine that powers both prosperity and stability.

If given the opportunity to serve, Amaechi’s track record suggests a renewed, strategic focus on farming—one that could reshape livelihoods and strengthen the nation’s future.

The Convention Mirage vs. The Quiet Reality!

If you were at the ADC National Convention in Abuja yesterday, you probably saw the same thing I did, a sea of Presidential Euphoria.

I watched as some aspirants spent their energy staging forced alliances, strategically positioning themselves for photos next to certain big names just to woo followers for 2027. It was a masterclass in the old political game, all optics, all noise, all showcasing.

But as I stood there, I couldn't help but hear the echoes of my conversation with Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi just 48 hours prior.

While others are basking in the glamour, CRA’s words felt like a cold splash of water on a feverish room. He warned us, “Don’t listen to the noises, listen to the cries of the citizens.” Think about that.

While the noise-makers are busy fighting for the best camera angle and the loudest cheer, the displaced citizens of our communities are still crying. The kidnapped are still getting lynched and waiting for their ransom to be delivered for their freedom. The economy is still bleeding and the infants within the communitiesof the poor are sufferingfrom malnutrition.

CRA’s point was clear: If you are more excited about the title of President than the task of saving the family from vulnerability, you’ve already failed the test.

Staging alliances for 2027!!

CRA is focusing on the history that remains unwritten because four presidents failed to solve the basics.

I saw the Kingmakers (the delegates and the people) watching. And I wonder... are we finally learning our lessons? Or are we still falling for the make-belief of the loudest shouters?

The Lion isn't shouting. He’s listening. And in this political climate, that is the most radical thing a leader can do.

May our genuine prayers for having the right person and choosing the right leader to save Nigeria from insecurity, bad economy and bad governance be answered by God Almighty.
