In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In the name that I am consecrated into.
In the name that bought me from the dominion of darkness and by which I now live in the Kingdom of Light.
I approach you, most excellent God.
You are all that I have and the only God I want to know and worship.
We live in a world that has become hostile to your house of prayer. Many leaders of the world and even those in offices seem to have been given a mandate to intimidate those who speak of you in public.
Now many fear to hold on to the cross, the Bible, or the rosary in public places for fear of persecution and prosecution.
Fear has taken over many because they may lose their jobs, friendships, and be perceived as hypocrites and deceivers for holding out to their faith.
I pray you, Lord, to awaken in each of us a faith that cannot be silenced,
The hope that cannot be intimidated,
And the love that cannot be insulted. Set us on fire for the truth of the gospel again.
Teach us to proclaim our faith without fear of intimidation.
Use us to reveal your glory in this evil generation.
Strength of our soul and light for our steps,
Protect us from all enemies, seen and unseen.
Defend our health so that they will never succeed in afflicting our body.
Let us be strong and guided in all our decisions.
Protect our blessings till the end.

*Father, we wake up and Your mercy woke up before us. _Lam 3:22-23*_

*1. WE PRAISE YOU FIRST*
Lord, You are God. You are God in Bethel.
_“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”_ *Psalm 118:24*
We don’t complain about NEPA, traffic, or school fees. We praise.
Thank You for sleep, for breath, for blood still running in our veins.
You are faithful when we’re faithless. You are good when news is bad.
Hallelujah is our first language today.

*2. WE COMMIT THIS DAY INTO YOUR HANDS*
_“In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.”_ *Psalm 5:3*
So we lay April 20th before You:
- *Our going out and coming in*: No accident _Psalm 121:8_
- *Our work & business*: Favor with customers, wisdom for decisions. Let Naira multiply.
- *Our children*: As school resumes, _Isaiah 54:13_ – Let peace and excellence follow them.
- *Our health*: We cancel “morning sickness.” Body, hear the Word: You are strong. _Isaiah 40:31_
- *Our enemies*: Every Prince of Persia waiting today, be arrested at 6AM. _Daniel 10:13_

*3. WE CHOOSE TRUST OVER FEAR*
_“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”_ *Proverbs 3:5-6*
You go before us. You close evil doors. You open gates of mercy.
If Goliath shows up today, remind us: David ran toward him. _1 Sam 17:48_

*DECLARATION OVER BETHEL:*
Today, we will not bury glory. We will not raise Ichabods.
Today, we are Samuels – we hear God. We are Daniels – we have understanding.
Today, Port Harcourt will see Bethel and say “Their God is with them.”

Jesus didn’t tell Peter to preach more or fast more that night. He said _“Watch and pray.”_
Why? Because temptation was one hour away.
Most battles are lost not because the devil is strong, but because the church slept. Daniel watched 21 days and got visitation. The disciples slept 1 hour and got defeat.
Memory Line*: _“Delay is not denial, but sleep is denial.”_

Father, we confess we’ve chased joy in places that don’t have it. Today we turn our faces back to You. You are the path of life. In Your presence is fullness of joy. Fill us until we leak it on everyone around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A WORD
*Fullness of Joy*
_Text: Psalm 16:11 — “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”_
Joy isn’t something we manufacture. Fullness of joy isn’t a personality trait or a lucky mood. It’s a Person and a place: Jesus, and His presence. Counterfeit joys run dry. His joy fills to the brim and stays.

*2. What “Fullness of Joy” Actually Means*

- *Fullness* = _saba_ in Hebrew: satisfied, saturated, complete. Not a sip, not a taste. Soaked.
- *Joy* = _simchah_: gladness, delight, brightness. Not denial of pain, but a deeper current underneath it.
- *Location*: “in Your presence”. Joy isn’t found by chasing feelings. It’s found by drawing near to God.

So the promise isn’t “life will be easy.” The promise is “My presence will be enough.”

*3. Three Thieves That Empty Our Joy*
Thief Lie It Tells How Jesus Answers It
**Circumstances** “You’ll be happy when ___ changes” John 16:33: “In me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
**Comparison** “Their life looks fuller than yours” Psalm 23:1: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
**Sin/Distance** “Hide. God doesn’t want you right now” Luke 15:20: The Father ran to the prodigal while he was still a long way off.
The enemy can’t steal your salvation, so he goes after your joy. Because “the joy of the Lord is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10. No joy, no strength.

*4. How We Step Into Fullness*

*A. Choose Presence Over Performance*
David didn’t say “in perfect behavior there is fullness of joy.” He said “in Your presence.”
Application: Start your day with 5 minutes of no agenda — just “God, I’m here.” Brother Lawrence called it “practicing the presence.”

*B. Trade Asking for Receiving*
John 16:24: “Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
Many of us pray, but we don’t wait to receive. We fire requests and leave the room. Joy comes when we linger long enough to let God answer.

*C. Obey Your Way Into Joy*
John 15:10-11: “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love… These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
Obedience isn’t the opposite of joy. It’s the doorway. Sin promises joy and delivers emptiness. Obedience feels costly and delivers fullness.

*D. Let Sorrow and Joy Coexist*
2 Corinthians 6:10: “sorrowful, yet always rejoicing.”
Fullness of joy doesn’t mean absence of tears. Jesus was “a man of sorrows” Isaiah 53:3 and still said “that my joy may be in you.” The deepest joy is not on the surface of life. It’s in the aquifer underneath.

*5. The End of the Story: Pleasures Forevermore*

“At your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” God isn’t anti-pleasure. He’s anti-counterfeit. C.S. Lewis said it well: “We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and s*x and ambition when infinite joy is offered us.”

Heaven isn’t a long church service. It’s fullness. No diluted joy. No joy with a countdown. No joy with side effects.

*Invitation and Re*Question*:*
Where have you been looking for joy that keeps leaving you empty?
*Invitation*: Jesus told the disciples in John 15:11 that He wanted _His_ joy in them. That means you don’t have to fake it. You just have to stay near Him.

*Practical Steps*:
This week, practice “Psalm 16:11 breaks.” Set 3 alarms on your phone. When they go off, stop for 60 seconds and pray: “God, I step into Your presence. Fill me with Your joy.” Watch what happens to your strength.

*A WORD*

Joy isn’t happiness. Happiness depends on what _happens_. Joy is a spiritual state that doesn’t change when circumstances do.

*Three marks of fullness of joy:*
1. *It is abounding and supernatural* – When you put faith in Christ, you don’t get a cheap imitation. You get _His_ joy.
2. *It is abiding* – It doesn’t come and go. It stays even in dark times. It is steadfast in sorrow and triumphant in tribulation.
3. *It is abundant* – Jesus said, "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full".

Joy is not the subtraction of problems from life; joy is the addition of power to meet those problems.

_“...in Your presence is fullness of joy...”_
Lord, I’ve been chasing joy in things that don’t last. Forgive me. I run to Your presence now. Fill me until I’m overflowing. Let Your joy be stronger than my stress, my bills, I don’t want partial joy — I want _fullness_.in Jesus Christ name, Amen.
