"THE VOICE OF JACOB, THE HANDS OF ESAU"

We have studied the political terrain and recent events in Rivers State and have frowned at them. In reaction to these, we the COALITION OF GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES AND PARTY CHAIRMEN in Rivers State have taken the following decisions:

1, That we wholeheartedly disassociate ourselves from the concocted , misguided and shameful endorsement of Barr. Nyesom Wike as sole Governorship candidate by a purported coalition of 58 political parties, such endorsement is watery and belated.

2, We call on Gov. Nyesom Wike and the PDP to be very careful in the systematic blackmail they are launching on the Electoral Umpire - INEC . it is very worrisome that the PDP will be casting aspersions on the integrity of INEC. It is on Record that the PDP has made several attempts to compromise INEC . These acts can best be described as the "The voice of Jacob - the hands of Esau".

3, We are using this opportunity to call on INEC to maintain its neutrality in the forth coming Governorship and State Assembly Elections in Rivers State.

4, We condemn in strong terms the unholy marriage between the Supreme Court as well as Justice Abdul Kafarati of the Federal High Court in receiving Rivers people's money from Barr, Nyesom Wike. Rivers money is used by the Governor in exchange of expensive rings and bride price to cement and extend his tenure as Governor of Rivers state which comes to an end on 29th May 2019 through the back door. We call on the Federal Government and the EFCC To with immediate effect institute a panel with the aim of uncovering and recovering all looted funds . Details and records will be made available in the process

5, We commend the Nigerian Army and the GOC 6 Division , Major General Jamil Sarham for coming to the rescue of defenceless Rivers citizens especially those in Abonnema who where held hostage by Hoodlums and thugs loyal to PDP. The question Wike and the PDP should answer is - What is their relationship with the Characters that are on the wanted list of the Nigerian Army.

6, We have also observed with great pains the existing feud between the Rivers State govt and the Federal Government . This senseless confrontation orchestrated by Governor Wike has lasted for nearly four years. In this case, our beloved State and her people suffers. Consequently we call on Rivers people to support and vote their preferred Governorship Candidate who can work in harmony with the Federal Govt to bring the desired dividends that will make our beloved State a Safe haven as "The treasure base of the Nation "

7, Discreet information reaching us reveals that the PDP led govt in Rivers States has acquired illegal arms and ammunition and have distributed same to various local govt areas of the State to scuttle the forth coming Governorship and State House elections through violence and maim marked political opponents in the State . we therefore call on the Nigerian Police and her sister agencies to set out their dragnets and swiftly go into action with a view to apprehending and prosecuting the culprits.

8, To this end, we call on Rivers people (Men and women) to prevent children and their wards from being used as agents of violence before and after the Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections in the State .
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Those who want to put the children of others in harms way should first bring their relations and children to the forefront.

9, Finally , we commensurate with the families of those that lost their lives in the course of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the State . We pray the Almighty God to comfort them .

PRESS RELEASE BY APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL:

A CLARION CALL FOR NATIONWIDE SECURITY ALERT

It has come to our knowledge from insiders within the PDP Campaign Council who are making last-minute efforts to switch allegiance to President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress that the PDP is currently recruiting armed thugs and miscreants nationwide to attack ward and local government collation centres this evening till the wee hours of tomorrow morning.

The purpose is to disrupt the collation process of the elections nationwide in order to cause crises and make this election inclusive. As we know, most of these collation centres are usually in schools or other places that are poorly protected.

This is therefore a clarion call to all law enforcement agencies to mobilise extra armed security to protect all collation centres nationwide. We also appeal to Nigerians of goodwill and our supporters to provide standby electricity this night at these collation centres.

We also call on all our party agents, supporters and patriotic Nigerians to stick with these election results from the various units up to the State Collation Centres. There is no cause for any political party at this stage to jubilate or be dejected. Nothing has been won and nothing has been lost. Official results have not been declared. Hence we call for eternal vigilance on the part of our agents and supporters.

We repeat: NOBODY SHOULD JUBILATE NOW AND ABANDON HIS/HER DUTIES. LET US KEEP OUR FEET FIRMLY ON THE GROUND AND STICK WITH OUR ASSIGNED ROLE(S) UNTIL FINAL RESULTS ARE DECLARED BY INEC.

The attention of our party the APC has been drawn to a long litany of lies placed in the public space by the Rivers State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in which several outlandish falsehood are bandied as truth.

We can only summarise that the PDP in Rivers State is doing exactly what the Holy Bible referred to as the guilty running when no one is pursuing.

We hereby warn the PDP to desist from maligning innocent members of the APC who have done nothing wrong whatsoever. We believe that the Nigerian military whom the PDP has unfortunately chosen to malign, blackmail and insult, can adequately speak for themselves. However, we must caution the PDP that our gallant soldiers who place their lives on the line every other day to protect us deserve a better treatment than the PDP have chosen to embark upon.

As a party, we shall adequately respond to the trash the PDP has put out to the public but may I unequivocally state that no part of that PDP text should be taken seriously as it is mere hogwash intended to deflate attention from the evil rigging schemes of the PDP in the coming elections.

We would like to remind the PDP that they should gladly accept the consequences of whatever malfeasance they send thugs to embark upon on Saturday and consequently.
