Dear Deputy Speaker,

Let me extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on the successful dedication of your beloved daughter, Miss Burabari Adelaide Dumle-Maol, which took place on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Although I was unable to physically attend the event due to my engagement outside Port Harcourt, please know that my spirit and soul were present with you and your family during this significant occasion.

As the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly, your dedication and commitment to serving both your constituents and the house have been remarkable. Your total commitment and perseverance set an admirable example for every person in the public service.

I must also commend you on your strong devotion to God, as evidenced by the meaningful dedication ceremony. It is heartwarming to witness leaders who prioritise their spiritual journeys alongside their professional responsibilities.

Once again, accept my warmest congratulations on this momentous and memorable occasion. May this dedication bring immense blessings and prosperity to your daughter, Miss Burabari Adelaide, and may she grow in wisdom, strength, and spirituality.

PRESS RELEASE ON POLITICAL ISSSUES IN RIVERS STATE

The Rivers State Police Command is fully aware of the numerous political statements and sentiments that have been circulating within the state.

In light of these developments, we would like to inform the general public and the esteemed people of Rivers State of the following:

i. The Nigeria Police Force is the statutory and constitutional authority entrusted with the responsibilities of enforcing laws and orders, as well as protecting lives and properties, among others.

ii. The Rivers State Police Command, as an integral part of the Nigeria Police Force, is firmly committed to upholding and enforcing all laws and orders within the state.

iii. The Command will not stand idle and allow any individual or group to disrupt the existing peace in the state under any guise or pretext.

iv. The Rivers State Police Command will not hesitate to take decisive action against any person or group of persons found to be in violation of the laws and orders of the state.

Therefore, we implore members of the public to maintain peace and abide by the laws of the land. To those involved in the ongoing political unrest, we urge you to seek peaceful/lawful means to address your grievances.

Be rest assured that the command remains neutral and apolitical in all matters pertaining to the current political situation.

Thank you for your attention, and we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining peace and order in Rivers State.

You must be wiser dear brothers and sisters. The best support you can give to your political party or candidate is refusing to disrupt the electoral processes and engaging in any form of pre or post-elections violence. Give peace a chance. Refuse to be used. Go canvas votes for your preferred candidates without causing trouble to yourself and members of the society. That your friend has a different political belief from yours has not made him or her your target for destruction. Your family and community need you to be productive.
