SOIRS HOLDS MEETING WITH TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS AND FLEXISAF ON SCHOOL PAYMENT PLATFORM

The Sokoto State Internal Revenue Service (SOIRS) held a meeting with representatives of higher institutions and FlexiSAF to address challenges associated with the school payment platform and strengthen revenue collection, accountability, and transparency.

The meeting focused on key issues, including ineffective fee-splitting arrangements, inaccurate or unreconciled collection reports, and the misallocation of collections to the appropriate revenue heads and beneficiary accounts.

Discussions also centred on the technical review of fee-item configurations on the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS), the integration between institutional portals and ITAS, settlement processes, and the identification of practical solutions to improve the efficiency of the platform.

Participants also considered measures to prevent revenue leakages, standardise fee-item configurations across tertiary institutions, strengthen daily reconciliation, and establish clear responsibilities for monitoring and resolving technical issues.

The engagement underscores SOIRS' commitment to improving digital revenue administration, ensuring accurate revenue reporting, and promoting a transparent and accountable collection system across public institutions in Sokoto State.

SOIRS remains committed to efficient revenue administration and the effective use of technology to support sustainable development in Sokoto State.
