APPOINTMENTS OR SQUAD EJI AZỌ ELECTION: WHEN GOVERNANCE BECOMES A 2027 CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

There is something deeply troubling about a government that makes life harder for the people through taxes, yet suddenly remembers the importance of appointments whenever an election approaches.

Across Enugu, the question is no longer simply who gets appointed. The question is: what is the purpose of these appointments, and who are they really meant to serve?

When people are struggling to feed their families, pay school fees, keep their businesses alive and survive the rising cost of living, government should be focused on relief, opportunity and better governance—not on building a political squad for 2027.

Nwoke Tax, people dey pay. But where is the benefit?

The people of Enugu deserve a government that sees them as citizens, not merely taxpayers and potential election supporters. They deserve appointments based on competence, fairness and public interest—not the appearance of a last-minute effort to win loyalty.

And let us be clear: an appointment is not a substitute for good governance. A political position cannot erase the hardship of the people. It cannot make an abandoned promise come alive. It cannot turn a struggling trader into a prosperous one overnight.

Appointment na today. Election na tomorrow. But the people go remember.

The real test of governance is not how many people are appointed. It is how many lives are improved, how many businesses survive, how many young people find opportunities and how many families can breathe easier.

As 2027 approaches, Enugu people must ask the right questions. Who is working for the people? Who is working for political survival? And who truly deserves our support?

Because in the end, na Enugu people get the power.

ENUGU WEST DESERVES EXPERIENCE AT THE RED CHAMBERS

Why Rt. Hon. Dr. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi is the right choice for 2027

There comes a time when a people must look beyond political familiarity and ask a more important question: Who is best prepared to represent our interests?

For Enugu West, that question deserves a serious answer.

Our senatorial district needs a representative who understands the weight of public office, appreciates the workings of government, and possesses the experience to pursue the interests of our people with competence and determination.

That is why Rt. Hon. Dr. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi deserves the support of the people of Enugu West as the PDP candidate for Senate in 2027.

Experience that matters

Dennis Amadi is not a newcomer to public service. Before entering politics, he built a career in the banking sector, gaining professional exposure in areas including commercial banking, corporate banking, investment banking, and treasury management. He later served as the member representing Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, winning election in 2015 and returning for a second term in 2019.

That background is important because the Senate is not a place for political experimentation.

It is a chamber where national policies are debated, budgets are scrutinized, laws are made, and the actions of government are subjected to oversight.

A senator must understand how decisions made in Abuja affect the lives of people in Affa, Udi, Ezeagu, Awgu, Aninri, Oji River, and every other community across Enugu West.

Amadi’s professional and legislative experience gives him a foundation from which to approach those responsibilities with knowledge and exposure.

From the House of Representatives to the Red Chambers

Having served in the House of Representatives, Amadi understands the legislative environment and the responsibilities of representing a constituency at the federal level. His experience in the National Assembly is a valuable asset that can be brought to bear on the work of the Senate.

This is not to suggest that experience alone guarantees performance. Rather, it means that Enugu West would be choosing a candidate who has already had the opportunity to understand the demands of federal representation.

That matters when the issues before the Senate include:

* National infrastructure and road development.

* Education and human-capital development.

* Economic opportunities for young people.

* Support for agriculture, enterprise, and local businesses.

* Effective representation in national policy discussions.

* Stronger oversight of government agencies and public expenditure.

These are not issues that should be approached with empty promises. They require knowledge, preparation, persistence, and the ability to engage the relevant institutions.

A senator who can connect local needs to national opportunities

The people of Enugu West deserve representation that understands the connection between local development and national policy.

A road that links our communities to markets is not merely a road. It is an economic opportunity.

A functioning school is not merely a building. It is an investment in the future of our children.

A federal intervention that supports a young entrepreneur is not merely an empowerment programme. It is an opportunity for a family to become more self-reliant.

A senator must be able to understand these connections and pursue them through the appropriate legislative and institutional channels.

That is where Amadi’s experience and exposure become relevant.

His previous service in the House of Representatives, combined with his professional background, provides a useful foundation for understanding the relationship between legislation, public finance, and development.

Why Enugu West should look beyond the ordinary

Politics should not be reduced to who is most familiar, who makes the loudest promises, or who has the most attractive campaign materials.

The real question is whether a candidate possesses the qualities required to serve effectively.

Enugu West deserves a senator who can:

Speak with knowledge.

Engage with competence.

Represent with seriousness.

Pursue development with determination.

And remain accountable to the people.

These are the qualities that should guide our choice in 2027.

The choice before us

The 2027 election presents an opportunity to choose representation that is informed by experience and driven by purpose.

For those who believe that previous legislative exposure should count, that professional experience should matter, and that the Senate requires more than political enthusiasm, Rt. Hon. Dr. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi offers a compelling choice.

Under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, his candidacy presents an opportunity to bring his previous experience to the service of the entire Enugu West Senatorial District.

The people of Enugu West deserve a senator who understands the responsibility of the office and is prepared to pursue their interests with seriousness.

Dennis Amadi has been to the House. He understands the legislative environment. He has professional exposure. And he deserves the opportunity to bring that experience to the Red Chambers.

A NEW MONTH OF HOPE, RENEWED COMMITMENT AND GREATER POSSIBILITIES

A New Month Message from Rt. Hon. Dr. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi (PhD) to the Good People of Enugu West Senatorial District

Ndị Enugu West,

As we welcome the month of September 2026, I extend my warmest greetings, heartfelt goodwill and sincere prayers to every son and daughter of Aninri, Awgu, Ezeagu, Oji River and Udi.

A new month is more than a change in the calendar. It is another opportunity to renew our hope, strengthen our unity and recommit ourselves to building a future that works for everyone.

I pray that this September brings peace to our homes, prosperity to our businesses, success to our young people, good health to our families and renewed confidence in the future of our communities.

As we journey towards another important chapter in the political life of Enugu West, I remain deeply convinced that leadership must be about service, representation, accountability and the courage to put the people first.

My decision to offer myself for the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Enugu West Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, is driven by a simple conviction: our people deserve purposeful representation that listens, cares, speaks boldly and delivers meaningfully.

I am not presenting myself as the answer to every challenge. Rather, I am offering my experience, capacity, compassion and commitment to work with our people in pursuit of a better Enugu West.

The journey ahead belongs to all of us. It must be a journey of unity over division, service over self-interest, development over rhetoric and genuine representation over empty promises.

Let us therefore enter this new month with renewed faith that better days are possible when good people come together with courage, purpose and determination.

May September bring abundant blessings to Enugu West.

Happy New Month, Ndi Enugu West!

With sincere respect and warm regards,

Rt. Hon. Dr. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi (PhD)

AN HONEST POLITICAL CONVERSATION WITH NDI AFFA

By Martins Chidiebere Ekwueme

2027 ELECTION IS AN ELECTION FOR SELF-REDEMPTION FOR NDI AFFA

Since 2023, Ndị Affa have remained loyal. We have supported, defended, campaigned, voted and stood shoulder to shoulder with the government in power. But today, honesty demands that we ask ourselves one difficult but necessary question:

What exactly has Affa benefited politically since 2023 till date?

This is not hatred.
This is not rebellion.
This is not disrespect.
This is accountability.

Because no community rises by keeping quiet while being politically sidelined.

Affa is not a small village hidden in the corner of Udi North. Affa is one of the largest and most politically significant communities in the entirety of Udi North — population-wise, voting strength-wise and human capital-wise. Yet, when the dividends of power are shared, our people are constantly left asking questions instead of celebrating results.

So let us have this conversation openly and honestly.

SINCE 2023,

Where are the projects started and completed in Affa?

Where are the roads that were promised and commissioned?

Where are the young men and women employed or empowered?

Where are the meaningful political appointments that reflect our contribution and importance?

These are not wicked questions. These are legitimate questions.

Because politics is supposed to produce visible results. Politics is not worship. Politics is not slavery. Politics is a contract between the people and those they help into power.

And if a community continues to give political loyalty without corresponding political rewards, then that community must wake up and rethink its strategy.

For too long, Ndị Affa have played the role of loyal foot soldiers while others sit comfortably at the table eating the dividends of power. We mobilize votes. We defend party structures. We campaign passionately.

But when it is time for inclusion, recognition and strategic appointments, Affa suddenly becomes invisible.

That must change.
And change will never come by begging.

Change comes when a people become intentional about their political future.

That is why the 2027 Senate election is bigger than one man. It is bigger than party slogans. It is bigger than ordinary politics.

This election is about the political self-redemption of Ndị Affa.

This is the moment for Affa to rise beyond sentiments, personal interests and distractions and unite behind one of our own — a man who understands and feels the struggles, aspirations and political neglect of our people.

That man is Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi!!

Whether young or old, rich or poor, every Affa son and daughter must understand what is at stake here.
Political power respects unity.

No community develops politically by constantly helping others climb while their own remain on the ground. Communities that progress are communities that deliberately push their own people into strategic positions of influence.

The Senate is not just an office. It is a voice. It is visibility. It is access. It is influence. It is negotiation power. It is development opportunities. It is political relevance.
And for once, Affa has an opportunity to strongly project one of its own into that space.

The truth is painful, but it must be said:

If Affa cannot unite for its own political advancement now, then we may continue complaining for many more years while others continue deciding our future for us.

This is why every market square conversation matters.

Every youth meeting matters.

Every family discussion matters.

Every campaign effort matters.

This is not the time for indifference.

This is the time for mobilization.

This is the time to remind ourselves that no one will value Affa politically if Affa refuses to value itself politically.

The future belongs to communities that are organized, vocal, strategic and united.

Let nobody deceive us. Politics is not charity. Political relevance is not donated. It is fought for, negotiated and secured through unity and collective action.
And that collective action begins now.

Let every son and daughter of Affa begin to ask: “What future are we building for ourselves politically?”

Because history will remember whether this generation of Ndị Affa rose courageously to reclaim its political relevance or remained silent while opportunities slipped away again.

2027 is not just another election.
2027 is a referendum on the political dignity, visibility and future of Ndị Affa.

And this time, Affa must not watch from the sidelines.
This time, Affa must stand up for Affa.
