A new chapter for accessible eye care in Abia State.

Yesterday, during the commissioning of Cottage Hospital, Umuhie, by His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, we officially commenced eye care services at the facility.

To mark the occasion, free eye screenings were carried out for members of the community, ensuring more people have access to quality eye care closer to home.

Every Friday, we hold capacity-building trainings across our secondary eye health facilities for optometrists and all staff working in our eye clinics, aimed at improving service delivery and patient care.

This Friday, the team was at the eye centre of Aba General Hospital alongside the administrator for an impactful training session and staff engagement.

Ndi Aba, this is your cue to take advantage of the fully functional eye clinic at Aba General Hospital Eye Centre for quality and professional eye care services.

Yesterday, we carried out free eye screenings for military personnel at the Army Barracks in Umuahia. This outreach was part of activities stemming from our Glaucoma Awareness and Symposium.

The exercise provided an opportunity for early detection and basic eye health checks, with cases requiring further assessment duly referred to the Abia State Specialist Eye Centre.
