APGA ABIA CRISIS: OKOGBUO IS A COWARD.
By Ikedieze Omereisinkwo
12 September, 2022

The state chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Abia State Chapter, Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu has lambasted the so called deputy national chairman South of APGA, Uchenna Okogbuo as a spineless coward who cannot speak on behalf of the party having been indicted for stealing the sum of Forty Six Million Naira ( N46,000,000.00) party fund belonging to Abia State Chapter of APGA.
Uchenna Okogbuo had granted an interview to a news outlet( not us) where he claimed that the party does not recognise Ukaegbu as the state chairman of APGA.
Ukaegbu in a swift responds stated that Okogbuo unlike his minion Augustine Ehiemere was a party to the Suit wherein the Court of Appeal, Owerri Division pronounced him Ukaegbu as the state chairman but that he Okogbuo did not for a single day have the courage to appear before the court to canvass the arguments he is now shamelessly trumpeting before the media. "Having lost in court it's now convenient for him to come to the public space to make noise where he cannot be interrogated, cross-examined and exposed for stealing party funds" Ukaegbu said.
" Thieves always find comfort defending fellow marauders and Okogbuo is no exception. Okogbuo and Ehiemere are birds of the same feather caught with their hands in the party's till.
He ran APGA Abia State Chapter in the period he shamelessly flaunt in disobedience of a valid court order and operated party account with ATM card paying and maintaining his wife and family from the said account and going to the extent of paying numerous prostitutes he slept with from the party account and acquiring movable and immovable properties therefrom"
SEE investigation revealed that erstwhile state chairman of APGA, Augustine Ehiemere piqued by the brazen nature of Okogbuo's criminality had dragged him before the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC who arrested Okogbuo and was on the verge of arraigning him in court before a Board of Trustee member of APGA, Chief Chikwe Udensi intervened allowing Okogbuo to secured an understanding with Ehiemere for Okogbuo to help keep him in office which is what is playing out now. Ukaegbu stated that he had already served notice on the thieving duo of Okogbuo and Ehiemere of the intentions of APGA in Abia State to recover all stolen party fund and their new found alliance cannot save them from the long arm of the law.
Ukaegbu further counsel Okogbuo to challenge the court decision affirming him as the state chairman of APGA Abia State Chapter if he disagrees with the decision rather than needlessly blowing hot air in the media.

Abia APGA Dispute: Oye faction loses again at Appeal Court
20th July 2022

From Okey Sampson, Umuahia

The Court of Appeal, Owerri Division, has again dismissed the application brought by the Victor Oye faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), requesting it to review her decision affirming Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu as the substantive state chairman of the party in Abia State.

Prince Ukaegbu, popularly known as Onapuruagu, was the state chairman of APGA, Abia state chapter, prior to the 2015 general election, when he was removed from office by then Chief Victor Umeh-led APGA National Working Committee (NWC), in a manner he felt was not proper.

He approached the court, leading to a High Court in Umuahia quashing his removal from office.

Not satisfied with the judgment of the lower court, APGA leadership went on appeal and the Appeal Court, Owerri Division, reaffirmed the High Court’s judgment, declaring Ukaegbu as the authentic chairman of APGA in Abia.

The APGA leadership earlier this week approached the Court of Appeal, praying it to among other things, review her decision in Chief Ukaegbu’s case

In a 20-paragraph affidavit deposed to by one Chukwuemeka Nwokoro, APGA among others, prayed the court to set aside its judgment of April 7 and relist the appeal which has been dismissed.

The leadership of the party also prayed the Court of Appeal to restrain Ukaegbu
from taking any step to give effect to the judgment of April 7 or nominating candidates for the 2023 general election in Abia State.

The Appeal Court in its ruling delivered yesterday, dismissed the appeal, saying it was not going to reverse itself.

The Court equally awarded a N2 million cost against the appellant/applicant, in favour of the respondent.

Speaking after the judgment, an aide to Ukaegbu said with the ruling, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has no reason not to comply with the said judgement.

Abaribe, others won’t contest election under APGA –Ukaegbu
21st June 2022

From Okey Sampson, Umuahia

Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Abia State chapter, Prince Ukaegbu, has said former senate minority leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe and others, including the governorship candidate in Abia, may not contest the 2023 election on the party’s platform.

Abaribe dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alleging irreconcilable differences arising from the party primary, for APGA, where he intends to contest the Abia South Zone Senatorial seat against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Ukaegbu, who was reinstated as chairman of APGA in Abia by order of an Umuahia High Court and reaffirmed by the Court of Appeal, Owerri Zone, said anybody that went through the process of nomination for next year’s election under APGA and did not go through the legitimate officers of the party in the state which he represents, would not be eligible to contest the general election.

He likened new entrants into the party that were given tickets to contest election, to people who bought property from someone that was not a title holder of the property, and would at the end not take hold of the property.

He said as things stood, APGA has no validly nominated candidates in Abia State, including the governorship race, for next year, until he presents them to INEC.

“The fact remains that anybody that does not go through the process of nomination for elective positions in Abia APGA under my watch as state chairman and does not recognise me, as so doesn’t stand the chance of contesting the coming election.

“Legal arguments are canvassed in court, they are not canvassed at Aba Motor Park, neither at Ubani Ibeku Market. If you feel I’m not the APGA State chairman, kindly go back to court and tell them that the court erred. But as of today, I remain the state chairman, and anybody who does not recognise me as such, surely is not going to contest next year’s election under APGA.

“That’s what the law says. APGA is a juristic person that acts through it’s officers. APGA is a legal entity, only recognised officers of APGA can take actions, receive and register people into the party, conduct primaries, nominate candidates on behalf of the party. APGA is not a no man’s land, APGA is not an all comers’ affair.

“Personally, Abaribe and some of those who crossed over to APGA are my friends; officially, they are not members of APGA. I don’t know them from the level of membership of APGA and I’m telling you without any form of equivocation, without any fear of being contradicted that they will not run election under APGA, they are not members of APGA.”
